I won this book in a giveaway. I picked it up to read a bit at night to help my mind shut down. Instead I ended up reading it all and being extremely pumped up after finishing it. The book is great the suspense is good. I thought I had it figured out but I was completely wrong. It was an interesting twist. The writing is smooth and easy to get caught up in. I hope others will read this book while I move on to other books by this author.

Kristina is quickly able to draw you you into her stories by creating relatable characters. This was a quick read and hard to put down once you started. Although I thought there was a little predictability, I suspect it may be the nature of Luring Shadows being a novella. As a whole, it was quite enjoyable and would definitely recommend it.

One of the things I love most about Kristina Rienzi's writing is her ability to connect you with the characters from the moment you open the book. I am always able to see her stories come to life within the first few pages of her books - even her short stories.

Luring Shadows is the only title in its series that I have read. The story line is good. The book itself is short and reads more like a short story than a novel. It would be enjoyed more when read as a series than as a stand alone novel.

When a bunch of reviews say the author "lures you in" I automatically think "fake reviews " if 5 reviews say the same thing almost exactly then I'm not buying it

Yup, I'm convinced. A group of high school students got together and said "let's put out a bunch of books" it's the only thing that makes sense that almost every author has made such immature characters

“You don't know what is? Well, you never did file a restraining order against me, Max.
You had every chance to stop me from coming near you, but you never did anything about it.” Cheri
took two steps closer. “I’m not doing anything illegal by being here. So now, rock star, what are you
going to do this time?”
Who talks like this?

The first stranger chapter was a mess of confusion. Nothing made sense

“I’m not going to lie, the stories you told me about Cheri freaked me out to no end."
Why didn't we get to hear these stories? And when did they occur? This book is all over the place.

"When I turned Kat’s phone on, there was a picture of us as her screen saver, which was
odd since it was neither of our phones."
So is it Kats phone or not?

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. This book has that chilling and creep factor that comes with a mysterious journey. Rayna wants to know what truly happen to her sister and how it ties in with the resort. Now that she is the newest target she has to figure how to stop becoming the latest shadow. It did not take long for me to be pull in and part of the dark ride with Rayna. This is might be a short read but it is pack with so much detail and character development. It has made me want to check out the other books in this series. Which are all standalones as far as I can tell.

The book was a short read. There was no lead to the plot, it was like all of a sudden you're there and it ended pretty quick.

Revenge for Unfinished Business

Despite the name of the resort, things are a bit creepy and anything but happy for resident Rayna Jennings. Grappling with grief and guilt from her sister Caitlyn's murder five years ago, Rayna organizes a benefit concert on the resort grounds to commemorate the anniversary. The killer has never been found, casting an uneasy doom on the premises.
One bright spot in the event is her girls weekend with sorority sister Kat and the budding sparks with the headliner band's lead singer Max of The Black Angels.
What Rayna doesn't factor in is Kat's tag along gal pal--moody Tori-- and Max's psychopath, stalking (ex) wife-- Cheri-- adding a tenseness to the already unsettled night.
With festivities in motion, the residents and fans partake of the booze and tunes, and it's the perfect backdrop for the killer to finish the finale they've been plotting all along.
This novella was just the right length and amount of suspense. I liked how the chapters interchanged Rayna and Max's point of view. Privileging us a peek into this inside information painted motives and a layer of suspicion over the characters. The wide-screen pan of the whole story kept me guessing suspects to the very end.

I received this book for free from Goodreads Giveaways. A short but interesting story about a young woman who lost her sister to a murderer five years ago. On the anniversary of her sister's death, the killer returns to kill the woman and several other people. Very fast read.
