I could never get into this story. It felt like a lot of telling and very little showing. We start the story with Drew who’s been on a downward spiral since she lost her husband six months prior. Living like a hoarder, rarely going out, taking poor care of herself, and acting erratically, she has her friends and family worried. An old friend of her and her husband, Dominic shows up with a tough love attitude. It’s then the complicated story of the bond between them is spilled. There were elements of this that turned me off her character, Dominic, and her deceased husband, Roland.

This was chapter one, so it made it hard for me to get through the rest. The paranormal events felt like an afterthought, and the story felt bogged down with random conversation that didn’t move the story ahead and lots of hopping around.

Dominic was handsome, and I think to some he’d be seen as noble. I didn’t feel that way, but it’s my opinion. He sticks by Drew as they deal with the poltergeist activity in her home, but I felt like there were alternative motives. There is an interesting plot twist, but I felt it came too little too late.
