***4 "Sweets" stars from me***

(Correction... Many cute guys!!! LOL!!!)

Well, that was a really pleasant surprise for me!!!
That book was cute, sweet and really funny!!! I loved it!!!
It was like i was watching a romantic comedy on TV and i enjoyed every single moment in there!!!

I'm sure that lots of you, guys, you will feel connected with Piper since she was a major book junkie and she loved all her book boyfriends... like me and all of you!!! Right???
Who doesn't love every single lead man in the stories that is reading??? Right???

We love our book boyfriends even though if there are the villains of the books, even though if they are the bad guys, or the cute ones, or they're breaking the law, etc...

But what happens when you will find your perfect book boyfriend in your real life??? Will you feel the same????
Let me tell what happened in Piper's life, but not with too many details because you have to read this story!!!

Piper was doing her Master on Psychology. She and the rest three of her group (Scott, Shannon and Austin) were preparing their thesis, but Piper was a little behind on her topic. The rest of the guys had already found their topics and it was something that they were specializing, but Piper doesn't have something special to focus. She just love reading romance novels, so much that her life is non existent except to meet occasionally the rest of the group and to watching realities on TV with her best friend, Scott...

So, when Scott is having the idea for Piper's thesis to be "how the male stereotypes on books create unrealistic expectations of the modern men", Piper gets very exciting to combine her research on thesis with her pleasure...

So, now she have to figure out where to find all those men and how she will do the research... And the main suggestion is that Piper will have to date with all the types of book boyfriends and to write down her experiences...
But how she will do it???

"I had both my thesis and a personal project...
something I'd call a "Social Experiment."
I would date every stereotype in the books. I'd give them all a shot to see if a real life happy ending just like i read about was actually possible."

Piper have to find an athete, a bad boy, a rock star, an MC, a dominant, a CEO, her stepbrother (EW!!!), her best friend and a DILF (a dad i liked to fuck!)... How difficult could it be???

"Do you know any vampires?"
"Vampires?" I asked through my giggles.
"They're in all books," she clarified...
"Vampires aren't real," Austin finally said.
"Well, you need a paranormal," Shannon said, her voice both irritated and completely serious. "How about a werewolf?"

But somehow, Piper managed to find all this men but the reality was much far away from the books... All of them were wonderfull and i don't know how she made it, but they were gorgeous...

Some of them charmed her, with some of them she just run away really fast, but some others were worthying the effort...
But somewhere between all those dates and all this madness, the things got complicated in her reality, but also in her heart!!!

Will be one of those men the man of her dreams or this man was right next to her all of this time but she was too blind to see him???

"It wasn't just pain. It wasn't just sadness. It wasn't just hurt.
It was agony.
Plain and simple. He was suffering, and it was because of me."

I have to say that i liked all of those guys and if i was in her shoes, i will be sooooo confused, but i think that i loved a little bit more Dax, the rock star... Yeah, i've got a thing for musicians, but I also loved his crazy t-shirts!!!

And i think that i laughed the most with the dominant...
But all of those guys were amazing, but not for the real life, i think!!!

Also i liked very much Scott. He was kind and sweet. He was a little bit nerdy but he had a great sense of humor...
I liked the connection between him and Piper and how easy they were around to each other...

And damn, i loved their cheesy lines and their high-fives!!!

"I'm looking for a treasure. Mind if i take a look at your chest?"
"Life without you is like a broken pencil. Pointless."

I liked and the rest two of the group... They were funny and a little bit crazy!!! I liked how Shannon was acting with all this project and she had her own hits with some crazy guys!!!
Also i liked Austin, he was a really good friend!!!

I enjoy this book very much and i think that this story teached us that in real life the things are different from books, you have different standards for your self and sometimes what you are looking for maybe is standing right next to you!!!

Really, guys!!! I think that this is a book that all of you have to read...

The idea of this book...

description

The delivery of that idea...

description

This had moments where I laughed out loud in the initial chapters, but, by the middle it became an angsty, childish melodrama that did NOTHING but annoy and disgust me.

The Funny

"I opened the first email. Apparently someone had winked at me. Another email told me I'd gotten a nod. As I glanced through the notifications, I'd also been poked, prodded, dinged, and dreamed about. And the seventh and eighth emails I opened were just penis pictures. Seriously?

A couple of meat Popsicles right there in my email. Skin flutes. Steamin' semen trucks.

I deleted them as I realized that finding a potential happy ending might require more work than one night with the Internet. "

So, the author is funny.

"Maybe we can go somewhere after I close this place down tonight and I'll tell you right before I make you scream it."

"Holy.
Mother.
Fuck."

"I cleared my throat.""And her name's Kitty?"

"He chuckled and then shook his head just as I put my lips to my glass to take a sip of tequila."

"No. It's a nickname she gave herself because her pussy's open to anyone that wants it."

"Needless to say, I shouldn't have had a mouthful of tequila when he answered my question."

As you can see, the story starts out so quirky and fun. I love that it pokes a little fun at the romance genres we all love.

The MC starts out as a romance book lover that could be any of us.

You feel it coming, right? The dreaded BUT ...

And, Then The But Happens!

*Spoilers are ahead so proceed with caution*

• When the humor dies, it's like a light is flipped. The storyline becomes boring, childish, trite, gross, and just plain old bad about 40-50% in as she is screwing one guy and constantly wavering back and forth on other guys.

description

• Every guy this chick meets is "hot," and I mean like she's never seen a damn hot guy before the book starts. Now, she's about to melt her panties off over everyone she comes into contact with. It's like watching a dog in heat! Seriously! It's a shame because Piper started out a hilarious, quirky girl that I could totally see as one of my friends. Why the author turned her into a Pollyanna, vagina on fire, dumbass that can't see two feet in front of her own nose is beyond men:(

•Good Gawd at the monologues ON REPEAT over and over and over, and it's not even important shit... No, it's shit a 15-year-old would use as analytical points.

description

• The initial humor is replaced with woe is me, whomever should I choose from all the hotness bullshit melodrama. Scarlet Ohara shit!

description

• The main appeal of this story is the research into different types of leading men in romance novels. Yet, the girl starts a SEXUAL relationship with one of her subjects in the middle of it, so how can any of the other shit with the other research subjects even be subjective or relevant anymore? So, it's all pointless Mickey Mouse bullshit from that point so far as the PLOT!

description

• She's heartless. Her BFF tells this narcissistic dumbass that he loves her and she leaves him alone and sends a text to address the shit. She "doesn't know how she feels" about either of her options - one she's had sex with and one that she calls her BFF. Wtf? She lies. She leads people on and plays with their emotions.

You...

description

And...

description

• Hypnosis? Really? That's how she knows who she wants to be with, finally... At. Almost. 90%. And, after we are REPEATEDLY SUBJECTED TO SEX SCENES WITH THE OTHER GUY, she chooses the the BFF that has about 10 lines at 90% and that the author has built ZERO chemistry. What a fucking nasty, cop-out, lame ass decision.

description

• I'm supposed to believe she loves Scott when the second she immediately starts thinking about one last time with Dax or calling up some other guy the second she thinks she might be too late to get Scott. Yeah, uh, that's not funny... Again,

Final Thoughts

description

I started this book thinking it was to poke a little fun at the stereotypes of romance. No! This book took every troupe from romance, amplified it, made it as convoluted and nasty as possible, and then tried to sell the reader an effing HEA with the scrap shit. No thank you!

- Love the premise : What happens when you decide to examine male stereotypes in romance novels, by actually dating each of the stereotypes? That’s what Piper decides to make the basis of her master’s thesis in psychology and I was drawn in from jump. I loved the idea of meeting real life counterparts for classic book boyfriends such as the bad boy, the rocker, the DILF, the billionaire CEO, etc. Even more fun was seeing the heroine realize that some book boyfriends, should stay just that - in your book, not real life. It’s all in first person POV, and it’s more chick lit than straight romance, if that’s your gig.

- Some good humor : Alot of the humor comes from her misadventures with the romance novel dates, but it never crosses over into outright slapstick which I enjoyed.

- The dreaded T word : yep, you guessed it - the romantic triangle. If there was something that brought down my enjoyment, and my rating, is that the dreaded T makes an appearance, plus things progress very far on both sides of the triangle. Trying to look past my personal bias against it, I think it was done in a way that made both sides of the triangle sympathetic, even if it’s clear who she should ultimately be with. Had it not progressed as far on both sides, I probably could have enjoyed it more. Also, all the characters are pretty young and act accordingly, so there’s some drama and some emotional angst that comes from that lack of maturity when you’re in your early twenties.

I liked it and I think the idea was fresh and fun, even if I had issues with the triangle. I will definitely keep an eye out for more from this author.

When I read the blurb for this book, I was super excited. It sounded like such a fun and unique premise and it proved me right! This book was fun! It was different from a lot of other books in some aspects. But it still held true to romance with the love and emotion throughout.

“I took a deep breath as he shot me another smile. I’d never actually seen a panty-dropping smile in real life, but he definitely had one. I wanted to hand my panties directly to him when he smiled at me like that.”

Piper is a romance junkie enthusiast, just like me.  She is doing her Masters in psychology and decides to do her thesis on book boyfriends and their stereotypes. She sets out to date each of the leading men she always read about: a rockstar, a billionaire/CEO, a Dom, an athlete, a cowboy, her stepbrother. And we got to come along for the ride.

“I didn’t want to be overly aggressive, but holy smokes. A woman had needs. And he had the type of body that could satisfy every single one of them.”

However, she didn’t expect to fall for one of the men, let alone two. This story was full of drama and angst. It was funny, passionate, and sexy. It was a really enjoyable story and I liked it a lot. ~ Tiffany, 4 stars

Can I just say the storyline to this book, dating all the book boyfriends? was hands down my number one interest in this. Seriously I couldn't do it, and reading this was amazing how she handled it. I love how it went I might still be slightly depressed on who she ended up with but eh, it was meant to be. I loved the humor in this it's nice to read a romance that also has funny moments because I feel we don't get them often enough. It's always so tear jerky or serious. (Why so serious?) the growth throughout for all characters panned out well. I think any romance reader hands down needs this book in their life. Because come on girls let's face it this one hands it on a silver platter and tells it how it is truthfully, no question in sure this is how all the stereotypes are. But each their own and not all are probably gonna go the way these panned out. Loved it, will reread it! Five stars.

Hello, Unpopular Opinion Crew, it is I, your Queen. I’m here to talk about this book which has plenty of 5-star ratings and lots of glowy reviews. I, of course, didn’t like it. Not. At. All.

Here’s what didn’t work for me:
Nudge-nudge-wink-wink anti-romance novel mentality
The heroine (whose name I can’t remember and don’t care to look up) is supposedly a romance novel fan, but doesn’t really act like one at all. She’s pretty quick to poke fun at the genre and laugh about all the silly tropes with her friends. I’m all for satire, but this came across as anti-romance in more than a couple of cases.

The trope:
And here we have yet another “for the sake of science” romance experiment.

But the real problem? The “science” of it was the most unscientific thing I’ve ever read in my life. Half the time I couldn’t tell if the heroine was approaching men because she was horny or because she wanted them to be part of her “experiment.” It was super weird.

It’s not really that easy:
So, the heroine decides she’s going to date all the stereotypical romance novel hero types in the name of “science”. She’s going to date a rock star, a billionaire, a bad boy, a biker, her step brother, a sexy single dad...and the list goes on. And she wrote these types down like it was going to be so easy. I mean, sure, why not assume you can walk into the local grocery store and find a sexy billionaire? Happens to me every Tuesday. The fact that the heroine thought her plan was even remotely plausible made me question her intelligence. And I HATE stupid heroines, y’all.

She’s gonna do WHAT? :
I’ve already been side-eyeing our intrepid heroine for a full chapter when she meets a sexy single dad at the grocery store and agrees to COME TO HIS HOUSE FOR DINNER. Public service message ladies: I don’t care how hot the guy is, DO NOT go to some random dude’s house for dinner. He could be a serial killer, a rapist, a John Mayer fan...the list of possible horrible consequences goes on and on. It was at this point, while she was making out with a random dude she’d just met, that I decided I kind of wanted random dude to toss her into his basement pit and make a hat out of her head. She’s clearly too stupid to live. Might as well kill her off in spectacular fashion, you know?

Sure...hot guys are everywhere:
Outside of Hollywood, let’s face it: it’s not terribly easy to find guys who are heart-stoppingly gorgeous. And in real life, you can’t assume that every gorgeous guy you meet is going to be unattached and interested in you. Sad but true. But that’s not the case for our heroine! She finds gorgeous men everywhere! And they all want our lovely little Mary Sue Sunshine heroine, of course. Why, 2 hot men she’s just met actually fight over her on her first “outing for science!”

I also have it on good authority that the heroine spends a big portion of the book banging a dude who isn’t the hero, by the way. I can’t confirm that, but it makes me glad I DNFd before I got there. I have no tolerance for that BS.

So, long story short, this one just wasn’t for me. But based on the 5-star ratings and glowy reviews others have blessed it with, maybe you’d like it just fine. Who knows?

Upset with the ending so only a 3 star review

I have to say I was really excited after reading the blurb and the first few chapters of this story were absolutely perfect. Piper and her friends working through the concept of her thesis made me laugh. Scott was a great buddy and their pick up line banter was really entertaining. Once Piper actually starts the study of her thesis, namely being the one constant female, dating all the different book boyfriend stereotypes she can think of, this is where the book started to get iffy for me.

Piper finds herself somewhat attracted to each of the categories she interacts with but for whatever reason she is able to weed through some of them. When she gets to the rockstar, we get Dax. He was pretty perfect. There was the one moment with a fan where he upset me some, but he redeemed himself in my mind. Dax himself came off a serious relationship a year ago, one which ended due to his girlfriend cheating on him. Austin, his childhood friend, is the one who sets him up with Piper and she knows all of this. (This will end up being strike one against Piper.)

As Piper allows Dax to slowly build a relationship with her, she continues with her research, feeling a little guilty, but still doing what she must for her thesis. The waters get really muddy when she thinks about adding the category of best friend to her thesis, but she negates this when she realizes she can't lose Scott as a best friend. Despite this, she starts noticing all these wonderful things about Scott, even though he starts pulling away from her completely and is acting like a withdrawn jerk. Did I mention she is having all these feelings will allowing herself to get deeper into a relationship with Dax. (Strike 2 against Parker)

As you can tell, a triangle theme is now emerging, and the funny thing is Piper even acknowledges it. She hopes to get the answer to her confusing thoughts when she is home for the holidays while attempting to hit on her stepbrother. Yes, it was another stereotype she had to try. Ugh. Thank goodness for a family trip to the strip and a night with a hypnotist or our heroine would have never figured out which guy she needed to pursue.

WARNING...SPOILERS COMING SO STOP NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT ANY MORE

While I really wanted to like this book, I have too many issues with it to give it more than a three star rating. Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those readers who has an issue with love triangles. My issue is that I have to have some reason to like the person they end up with and that doesn't happen. If her best friend had been in love with her since he met her, my only thought is that he didn't want to lose her friendship trying a relationship. So why would he be a total jerk when she starts dating someone else. He was so bad, I can't see how she could even question feeling something for him.

My other major issue is that the author really had me loving Dax. He was so great in the story. I hated that she had him act a little off while Piper was away. On top of that it seemed totally out of his character for him to take her break up so easily. He flipped just when she told him about the study, and now he is gonna be all peachy that she is dumping him for the guy he found her with that night he flipped? Worse, Austin, his buddy since childhood, doesn't even seem to bat an eye when he finds out what happened. Why he wasn't upset with Piper for doing that to his friend especially since he had just been crushed last year was beyond me.

Sorry for the rant, but I was just too upset to let this slide. This is also the reason why I gave the book a 3 star rating rather than a 2 or 2.5 star rating because any writing that brings out so much emotion in me is worth the read, even if it kind of breaks your heart or ticks you off.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like dating the men you read in fictional novels? Do the stereotypes even exist? Or is it just an unrealistic fantasy made up by authors? Lisa Suzanne's newest novel, Not Just Another Romance Novel answers all of those questions. This really isn't your typical romance novel and I GUARANTEE you'll be highly entertained with every turn of the page. The characters, especially the boyfriends are very memorable and definitely live up to the stereotype, and the main character is someone you can sympathize with. After all, if given the opportunity wouldn't you date your ideal stereotypical fictional boyfriend?

Piper Andrews has always been looking for that romance novel worthy romance but has never found it. She spends most of her time reading, and if not, she's studying hard working up to her Masters with her classmates. Undecided about what she's going to write for her thesis paper, she decides to explore the possibility of what it would be like dating each stereotypical boyfriend found in romance novels. After making a list, Piper sets off to find potential dates, all in the name of research of course, but is surprised by the love and romance she finds at the end of her research.

If I had the opportunity to date a stereotypical romance novel boyfriend I would date... Man this is such a hard question....the Millionaire/Billionaire is usually the most common answer, I've only read a few MC books and I know the men are fiercely protective, even if they have dirty mouths, supernatural I'm not counting, and the rock star...well it's difficult to say because I want them to love me but I also want them to follow their dreams. I CAN'T DECIDE! If I can't decide I don't know how Piper would. Dating all those guys, my god.

If you could take away anything from this book, it would be to understand that these stereotypes are EXTREMELY RARE and may be harder to find than you think. We would like men to be perfect in books as men would like us to be perfect as well, but that isn't always the case. Romance, I find, is out there somewhere, not in your books, but it's a lot harder to find than people think..

Each book boyfriend stands out apart from the rest and each in his own way is memorable. From what I've read of the other stereotypes, I found the men Suzanne described in her books to be AS ACCURATE as possible. There were parts that had me cringing, swooning, laughing, and other times questioning - wow is this real life? If I was her I'm not sure I would know how to deal with...all that. Some of the stereotypes may seem a little extreme but when are fictional boyfriends not? They are supposed to be the epitome of perfect (in the end).

A very entertaining and informative read, Not Just Another Romance Novel had me smiling and laughing. So if you're looking for a quick stand-alone to read this summer, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Not Just Another Romance Novel. And unlike stereotypical fictional book boyfriends, I won't lead you astray ;)

It wasn't bad...I like the premise.
interesting gif photo: interesting interesting.gif

I thought the friends were funny. But here were my main problems: (some spoilers)

1) I didn't feel the "chemistry" between her and her friend Scott. Like at all. It was quite confusing actually.
Also, he was kind of annoying.
confused gif photo: Confused _l.gif

2) I really don't understand how she didn't figure out that Scott had feelings for her sooner than she did.
stupid gif photo: Don't Be Stupid Like That NY_DontBeStupidLikeThat.gif

3)I LOVED Dax! I thought that she should have ended up with HIM! He was sexy as hell, he was the right dose of alpha and sweet, and....THEIR chemistry was great!
duh gif photo: duh! tumblr_m8eckpmYcb1r9hzax.gif

4)I don't understand how she went from "I'm confused" to "OMG I LOVE HIM AND I NEED TO BE WITH HIM!" (in reference to Scott) in 1.5 milliseconds. All because of some type of hypnosis?
no gif photo: momblutheyestare.gif

5) However, all that fails in comparison to my biggest issue which was that in the end...yeah, she choose the wrong guy.

So, this chick, Piper, is given an idea for her psychology master's thesis to use herself in a social experiment and date the stereotypical male leads from romance novels. Wackiness ensues.

The concept was pretty cool... use a romance novel to make fun of the stereotypes in other romance novels. And although the concept was cool, the execution was not exactly what I wanted out of it. That's not to say it wasn't enjoyable; I just expected things to be handled differently.

First of all, I'm certain no psychology professor would allow, or even support, a student to use herself as a subject for this type of research. It seems unethical, especially when the research proposed would do nothing to prove her topic.

Secondly, it's hard for a romance novel to mock other romance novels' stereotypes when the mocking novel itself becomes a string of said stereotypes. I had hoped this novel would show how unlikely each scenario was through humorous meetings with each guy, but it didn't. The point seemed to be showing Piper's foolish actions, not proving the stereotype wrong.

Lastly, I have mixed feelings for Piper. I liked her, I think. But she went into this project with the wrong intentions. She ended up looking like a desperate, horny fool. Plus, the whole project seemed a bit sketchy. If the topic changed to how romance novels create unrealistic expectations for women, it might have been a bit more believable. Piper, being the romantic she is, relies on proving the existence of happily ever after.

And it does exist for her. It worked out like I wanted it to, but the getting there was clumsy, awkward, and at times, downright ridiculous. But overall, it was cute and an easy, quick read (although I do wish an epilogue had shown a little of the future).

This book was just okay for me. I'm giving it 2.5 stars because I really liked the premise and it started out really funny. The story is about Piper, a Psych Grad Student who choses to write her thesis on whether or not Romance Hero stereotypes set up expectations that are too lofty for the average male to meet. Piper decides to use herself as the constant and makes a list of all the typical heroes in romance novels to use as the variables.

As I said, I liked the premise, and her first couple of encounters were hilarious. What I found a little off putting was that she seemed to find that all of the stereotypes were men she could pursue relationships with. It seemed odd to me that she would be instantly physically attracted to so many different men in such a short amount of time. It didn't feel like she was giving the experiment enough time while only going out on one date or having one encounter with each "hero". Because of that, I didn't trust that what she felt with the Rock Star type was real.

As the objective reader, it was also obvious to me that she was really attracted to someone else and I got a little annoyed that it took her so long to figure it out.

I would be willing to try another book by this author, but this one just didn't do it for me.

This was light and entertaining, and had me laughing out loud embarrassingly a few times.

The cover made me think it was going to be full of smut and only smut, but the blurb made me download the sample because I liked the premise of it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a much deeper story, and no smut at all. (There is sex, yes, but I wouldn't class it as erotica and it was tastefully done IMHO.)

It was written well, but it did leave me with questions that I thought could've been answered so the whole book would be wrapped up in a neat little bow. Mainly I wanted to know about where all the characters ended up. We really only find out about the MC and her chosen beau at the end (no spoilers here!) What happened to Shannon and Austin?

I'll definitely be checking out this author's other books!

Piper is working on her masters degree in psychology and is a romance novel addict, no, enthusiast. She must come up with a thesis to complete her degree. When talking to her best friend, Scott, they come up with the idea to compare the practicality of the top leading men in romance novels, the billionaire, biker, rock star... her step-brother???

I delighted in this book, because I would love to date all of the different leading men myself. (I'm always looking for my own police detective.)

I cherished the pick up lines in this book.
- "I'm looking for a treasure. Mind if I take a look at your chest?"
- "Are you religious? Because you're the answer to all my prayers."

If you love romantic comedies or have a favorite leading man, you will find it all in this book!

Aww, this book is for all the romance readers out there! It's so much fun - she goes out and (tries to) date all the types of book boyfriends! How cool a premise is that??? First of all, I was like, that is the greatest premise of all time. Then I was like, wait, oh no, is this going to be one of those books where she's just going through a bunch of different dates and it takes us forever to get around to the final guy we're supposed to be into? But the author is really smart about how she works it so that there are some stand outs among the crowd and it's something both the heroine and reader can get really emotionally invested in. Lots of fun.

I have never been more upset with an ending of the book in my life. I absolutely adored Dax and I thought they would end up together in the end because she spent most of the book with him. But when they didn't that ruined in the book for me. They most definitely belong together, and I can't help but hope for a sequel where it happens. The book was funny especially because I'm a romantic novel junkie as well, and it potentially could've been five stars if it hadn't ended the way it did.

This was a good twist on dating and trying to see if the guys that you read about in books actually exist and how they really behave. I liked the fact that Piper was going out there to see if theses guys existed. This was a light read and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I did get my HEA and that made me happier than a peach.

The idea of researching romance novel leading men "types" and how they influence (un)realistic romantic expectations sounds really cool and something I would totally do...probably won't have the success of finding all these "stereotypes" in gorgeous packages willing to go at it with me but hey...one can dream, yeah?

Piper and her group of friends started out real cool and well adjusted but it kind of went downhill from there. I understand the experimentation aspect of it but by gawd, the teen angst that repeatedly reared it's ugly head throughout this telling was off-putting. I just wanted to smack her upside the head and tell her to grow up already.

Could use a little more refining and a lot more character growth. Great start though.

Piper need to complete her thesis for her Psychology degree, and there is no better way than to incorporate her love of reading and finding the perfect match. The experiment begins with a date with all of the typical "Book Boyfriends" - Rock Star, DILF, Athlete, Step Brother, Dominant, Cowboy and Best Friend. While connections are made and Piper is caught between an instant attraction with one and unresolved deeper feelings for another. Can a decision be made? Or will she end the experiment alone? This book had me laughing out loud and wiping tears from my eyes. It was the perfect combination of great characters and a storyline every reader can only dream about. I only hope Dax gets his HEA......

Definitely met all my expectations. Piper is relatable to every romance reader out there, because if you read romance on the regular, you have definitely experienced every male stereotype out there. (Pun intended.) Several laugh out loud funny parts, solid writing and character development, but I predicted the ending from the first chapter. I do suggest, if you have a buddy, do a buddy read of this novel, especially as you come to find out, Piper ALSO has a book buddy. Book Buddies are the best buddies.

What a great book topic, analysis of romance leading men. I think that there are so many great things about this topic, and the story covered on most. I can see the appeal of all sides and I think had Scott turned out Gay or not in love with Piper then Dax would have been who she ended up with. Although it's sad I respect her choice, I made the same decision myself.

Great read, pieces to make you laugh, tear up and get excited. Finished in a day.

Good story.

3.5 stars

In theory, this story is fantastic. However, the execution fell a little flat. Starting out, I had a lot of hope for this book. It was hilarious and had a unique plot that held a lot of potential. Unfortunately, as the story continued, I found it repetitive and unnecessarily angsty. I did not like Piper at all. I found her to be immature and annoying. I really tried to like this book but I just couldn’t get there.

Wow! Lisa Suzanne just showed me what an amazing writer that she is! She wrote a novel that incorporates EVERY SINGLE Male Lead into one Romance Novel! Dream of that DILF, Rock Star, Friend to Lover, StepBrother, etc etc she piled them all into one novel and it has quite a comedic laugh how they all tie together... Definitely check out this book!

This girl gets her choice of a leading man in a romance novel. She has her fav fall in love with her, but it turns out that the best one was the one she overlooked. I enjoyed this. It had me laughing at times, and pulling for the underdog.
