4.5 Loyalty v Betrayal Stars
It has been a year and a half since I read the third book in this series, it was so good being back in the lives of the Devils Dust MC members. I was surprised how easily I was able to slip back into their world. We get to see a different side to some of the characters, some good and some not so good.
The book starts 8 years in the past when Lindsey is at a party celebrating her brother becoming a DJ. She meets up with a jock who she always liked from high school and her life changes forever.
What happens to Lindsey at the start of this book is my worst nightmare, it had me leaking tears which never happens.(well very rarely)
Lindsey finds herself shit out of luck with nowhere to go, deceiving people just to get by. When she meets Lip who is a prospect for the Devils Dust MC, its instant chemistry although the last thing Lindsey needs is another bad boy. Lip gives Lindsey the nickname Cherry because of the bikini she had on when they met.
What I can not get my head around is that for four years Cherry does not tell anyone about her past. If it was me I would be fighting everyday for that part of me regardless of the danger I would not even have to think about it. That was my only problem with this book.
That TWIST OMG!!!!! It was so full on I just can not describe. I was gutted for Cherry. I am bummed I can not go into it further but its just one of those things you have to read yourself.
This is a story is about finding your place in life, loyalty and overcoming betrayal.
If you have not introduced yourself to the Devils Dust MC yet and like a good MC read you should give this series a go. @ time of review #1 in this series is free on Amazon :)

Or will loyalty and duty to what he pledged come in the way of everything he’s worked for, take away the one person who could bring him happiness and bring him salvation?

What’s always stood out for me about the Devil’s Dust MC was the underlying themes of love, brotherhood, honor, devotion, and sacrifice each plot and individual character brings into the picture. You can’t help but get attached and develop a sense of hope and camaraderie to them and their strong, essential qualities that they leak out of the pages (or for most of you, your e-readers) and how they stay with you until the end.

Third reread 1/9/20
So we're 9 days into the New Year and I can't seem to find anything that is keeping my attention so when Lip and Cherry started whispering in my ear I decided another reread was in order. I still adore this couple, their chemistry is hot. Although I always felt Cherry forgave Lip to quickly this time around my feeling changed because she lied too and her lie was just as life changing as his.

The Lies Between Us is book 4 in the Devil's Dust series and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with this book, so I put off reading it for a long time. I knew I liked Cherry from the series but I really didn't know Lip since he was in prison for 6 years. It turns out that this book is my favorite of the series so far, I loved it from beginning to end. Cherry's story broke my heart and I understood her reasons for keeping her secret from Lip. Now Lip's secrets were such a betrayal I was so upset for Cherry I honestly didn't know how they could continue. I did feel she forgave to quickly but everything was done to keep her safe whether or not I agree with the decisions it did lead her to Lip and their HEA, so in the end I was happy. I'm already reading Bull's story.

Awesome MC read!!! Lip & Cherry took me on a wild ride!
Cherry is trying to win her life back. One night changed her life forever. Now, the only thing that she needs is taken away from her. Homeless, she finds safety in the arms of Lip. He is a member of a motorcycle club. He is rough. He is dangerous but he wants to help her. Their affair is fast paced. The attraction strong. Both have secrets though. Secrets that will destroy them.
When everything is revealed, will they ever be able to forgive each other?
This was a very unique take on bikers. The author handled the storyline very well and the characters came to life vividly through her writing. Great work. Quite an emotional book and interesting twists. Do not miss this.

We recall Lip and Cherry from the previous Devil's Dust books. Cherry is the sweet, crazy, and fiery red head whose a ball buster and a fiercely loyal ol'lady. When we first meet her we discover her man is in prison serving time until now when Lip is finally released.
The Lies Between Us sets us up 6 years in the past to the present and we witness how these two met and how things aren't what them seem.

Philip "Lip" DeLuca is a sexy Italian with the charm and the swagger. He's a man who follows his own path and doesn't live by anyone's expectations. The MC is all he's ever known and where he found the true meaning of family. At first we see he's sweet and a complete gentleman but underneath hides a darkness that shows his hot temper, crass, and brooding side.
"This is the life I long for. Guns, drugs, and violence, but most of all respect. I do what I love and I get respect in the end. This is the only life I know. I'm a sinner. A Devil at heart."
Lindsay "Cherry" Cole, you can say is a bit naïve in the beginning and when she meets Lip and befalls into his world, she becomes this feisty, bad ass bitch who will kill for the club. Her soul darkens a bit. She's a woman whose had a hard life and certain circumstances or maybe even fate brings her to Lip.
"My lips suddenly ache with the urge to be tasted by him, to see if he tastes as dangerous as he looks. My gaze trails from his dark eyes to his lips. I bet he tastes like sex and sin. "
Lip's time in jail changes him and bits and pieces of his true self are revealed, but that never mattered because through it all Cherry manages to fall in love with Lip's many shades of gray.
"It's going to take a lot more than you being a shade darker than gray for me not to love you."
Soon truths are revealed and M.N. Forgy hits us with this mother of a twist that will knock you off your feet and everything you thought you knew was a LIE.
"I know in my head I should give you up, walk away. But my heart wants you, and I can't for the life of me turn my back on you."
Can these two lost souls forgive one another and get a second chance to mend their errors?
This book was raw, sexy, intense and a great 4th installment to the series. M.N. Am I supposed to sympathize with the a*shole hero who basically lied to the heroine that he loved her when in reality their whole relationship was ordered by his boss? Over the heroine who had just lost her baby to an abusive man, was on the run from hit men, one of which was hero's boss who ordered him to watch her?
Yeah yeah, they both lied. She never told him about the child. He never told him their entire relationship was masterminded by one of the men ordered to kill her. It's fucking INSANE how even THAT guy was "redeemed" because his whole excuse for not actually killing her was that he knew her as a kid and didn't want her blood on his hands, so he decided to use her as insurance in case the judge who ordered the hit tried something. FOR SIX YEARS?
I didn't DNF but this book really isn't worth wasting your time over, and I kept hoping for more.
I did go absolutely insane on twitter today ranting about this. The hero is the most selfish guy who deserves to get his knees shattered with a steel baseball bat. He thinks he's wronged. Because....the MC president made him kill a bunch of people while in prison? Because she "manipulated" him for 6 years? This bitch wasn't even there for 6 years. He wasn't even there for a year. He did not live a lie-- SHE DID.
Idk why I keep reading MC books and expecting something different. This ain't dark, this is DELUDED.

“It’s going to take a lot more than you being a shade darker than gray for me not to love you. You’re right, I don’t know you. You’ve proven that, but you don’t know me, either. You being rough around the edges doesn’t frighten me, not at all.”
Moment of honesty: I went into this book thinking 'Okay. No biggie on this one. I was eh about Cherry and Lip. They were background characters to me. I am ALL about Jessica and Bobby's story. Nothing can top them.'
It's 330am on a "school night", my eyes are twitching, but my heart is excited. Want to know why? Because I just ate my words. I went into this book not thinking anything of it and came out completely, utterly and holy shit! in love not only with the story, but with the characters themselves. Lip MAY have just bumped out Bobby as my top guy. Or maybe they are at a battling tie. But nothing, NOTHING compares to how much I fell in love with Cherry.
CHERRY! Cherry is now my new BFF! truly a strong, sassy, and fierce female lead. And it is RARE when I can find a female lead that doesn't irritate me. So many heroines are whiny and makes me want to throttle them. But Cherry was absolutely amazing. She is what all heroines should be like. Although she had Lip by her side, she was still strong enough to stand on her own two feet and do what she had to do, however hard it was for her. She was a proud woman, though. She learned, as did I, that sometimes it's okay to ask for help and that there are good people out there to lend you that hand.
I am beyond thrilled and excited with this MC book series. These characters and stories have gotten better and better with each one. The Devil's Dust has become some of my most favorite MC books EVER! The characters and their journey have become part of me. A job fantastically well done, Ms. Forgy!
Now, about those kids...I think there may be a little bit of a love triangle there. Yes? No? Maybe? I see a lot of biker bad ass dads getting into brawls because of the chaos of their kids. And I especially see the girls' daddies getting their shot guns and bringing out their overprotective selves. Nothing screams ALPHA MALE like a daughter's dad.
Time. Will. Tell.
But first, we have Sin City Outlaws. Who are they? Read the book and find out the craziness that went down. And what is about to happen........

Lip MAY have just bumped out Bobby as my top guy. Or maybe they are at a battling tie. But nothing, NOTHING compares to how much I fell in love with Cherry.
CHERRY! Cherry is now my new BFF! truly a strong, sassy, and fierce female lead. And it is RARE when I can find a female lead that doesn't irritate me. So many heroines are whiny and makes me want to throttle them. But Cherry was absolutely amazing. She is what all heroines should be like. Although she had Lip by her side, she was still strong enough to stand on her own two feet and do what she had to do, however hard it was for her. She was a proud woman, though. She learned, as did I, that sometimes it's okay to ask for help and that there are good people out there to lend you that hand.
I am beyond thrilled and excited with this MC book series. These characters and stories have gotten better and better with each one. The Devil's Dust has become some of my most favorite MC books EVER! The characters and their journey have become part of me. A job fantastically well done, Ms. Forgy!
Now, about those kids...I think there may be a little bit of a love triangle there. Yes? No? Maybe? I see a lot of biker bad ass dads getting into brawls because of the chaos of their kids. And I especially see the girls' daddies getting their shot guns and bringing out their overprotective selves. Nothing screams ALPHA MALE like a daughter's dad.

I love this series and think M N Forgy has a gift for making her characters likeable, even when you want to slap them or just kick some sense into them.
Cherry's life was not a happy one and what happens to her as a young woman is so heartbreaking...no woman should have to deal with the loss she is struggling with...but she keeps on going and tries to make a better one for herself. Meeting Lip was just what she needed to give her some stability and strength to get what she needs...but then the rug is pulled from underneath her and everything she thought she knew and believed, all becomes one big life-altering lie.
I can't give too much away as to what exactly those lies were (it would spoil the book) but suffice it to say nobody is being truthful with anyone, the lies could drown a lifetime of trust and the overlapping deceit is enough to destroy what could be a HEA type future...unless things can be handled in a mature and honest way.
There is a lot of family drama, romantic pairings and violence in this one but overall, I really liked it and read it in a couple of hours. Grab it while it's only 99 cents!

This story played with my emotions so bad that I need a cigarette. I don't even smoke but I need a cigarette right now! The story was definitely full of secrets and lies. Lip and Cherry's relationship was a minefield full of them. The reader knows that something isn't quite right with Lip after his release from prison although we are fully made aware of Cherry's secret from the very beginning (even though Lip has no knowledge of it). But oh man! When the secrets were revealed they definitely flew from the pages hard and fast. Forgy is really great with doing grand reveals in that matter. Just as you are processing one secret, another one is revealed, and then another one. I couldn't catch my breath and it was awesome! I cannot wait to read about Zeek and Lip's Battle Royale. Readers of Reign will know that that confrontation is coming sooner rather than later and it will be magnificent!

M.N. Forgy has done a great job throughout her Motorcycle Club series of creating complicated storylines and characters who are nothing like the action and hero/heroines in the other books; this allows readers to get a first-hand look into the different types of people and ways of life that are attracted by the biker scene.
Both Cherry and Lip understand what it means to go it alone because their pasts forced them to grow up quickly and be conscience of who has your back and who’s looking to make you fall. The first time Lindsay (Cherry) puts her trust in someone else, she winds up running for her life and more fragile and alone than she’s ever been.
I liked Cherry from the beginning because regardless of how shitty her circumstances got and how heartbroken she became, she kept fighting, not allowing herself to succumb to the pain or depression. She definitely wasn’t expecting Lip to turn her world upside down and become a biker bitch; in fact, she vowed to stay away from bad boys because her brother always told her that they’re nothing but assholes who will hurt her in the end, and while that’s exactly what Lip does to Cherry in a twist that readers won’t see coming, Lip also gives her a biker family – people who have her back at all times.
Lip was quite the puzzling man – his hot and cold persona didn’t sit right by me and the way he treated Cherry before prison and after pointed to the fact that readers and Cherry weren’t privy to the man Lip truly was. As the lies surface, though, the pieces start to fall in place, and while I understand Lip’s actions due to his responsibilities to the club, the way he handled everything made me want to throttle him.
Cherry and Lip's story is a land mine of lies, secrets, and dysfunction, but it's also a text that illustrates that family is a whole lot more than blood and second chances are worth it if the lesson is learned. Nothing’s easy when it comes to living the biker lifestyle, but if you can hang on long enough to enjoy the ride, the brotherhood of the club and a good woman on the back of your bike is worth the dark and dangerous times.

M.N. You had me at The!
The Lies Between Us is epically good.
Lip is the kind of alpha male we all wish we could have in our book boyfriends and who the hell am I kidding in real life as well. Lip walks the fine like of asshole and romantic gentlemen that he will leave you swooning. His family outside of the MC makes you realize why he’s the kind of man he is and why he does the things he has to do. Granted, when the truth comes out about his actions, you will be seeing red and will feed the need to kick him in the nads. You’ll be sexually frustrated with this man, ladies. Just prepare yourself now!
Cherry on the other hand is a completely different story. Girl, you needed a better set of friends growing up and maybe your life would have been a bit easier to swallow. The situations she faces from her horrific family life and background will leave you a sobbing mess. The one thing that means the most to her in her life is ripped away and a target is soon painted on her back. Cherry has no place to turn and living on the streets becomes more dangerous by the damn. A chance meeting with a tattooed biker sets her off on a whirlwind adventure that is now her life. She has secrets that she’s not ready to reveal yet but then again, she’s living in a MC. Secrets have one hell of way of coming out eventually and when hers is revealed, shit hit the fan for her and for Lip.
All in all, The Lies Between Us is another great addition to The Devil’s Dust series. Lip and Cherry’s story gives you an entirely different side of the MC life when it comes to being a prospect to the club. Both of their secrets adds just the right amount of angst and turmoil to the story that you’ll never find yourself being bored. Passion runs rampant and secrets cut deep in this thrilling tale. Forgy does throw a bit of a monkey wrench into the series with an announcement oh so secretly placed at the end of the book. I nearly cried when I read it, but rest assured… it’s a very good announcement.

BAD ASS sassy female. BAD ASS rugged biker. EXPLOSIVE chemistry. LIES, SECRETS, and MURDER. This fantastic MC Romance was raw, gritty, fast-paced, emotional, sexy, and INTENSE to the max! What an adrenaline rush! I devoured this book. I let Lip and Cherry's story consume me from the inside out. A solid, steamy and intense read!
With every new book in this series, comes a new sense of admiration for this author and a new love of her writing. She takes a premise that you might not be comfortable with and turns it in to something so incredibly beautiful. She makes you fall in love with these foul-mouthed, sometimes rude, sometimes lewd, but ALWAYS sexy bikers. MC Romances are my favorite and MN Forgy is at the top of my list of authors I love in the genre. There was so much going on in this story. There is an expansive timeline we go through, but it adds so much to the story and helps guide us through this intense journey.
Lip and Cherry. These two are quite the pair. Their initial meeting was fantastic! The sexual chemistry was scorching hot. The banter between these two was hilarious. There are twists and turns along with some pretty amazing sex scenes. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I wanted to get to the end but I didn't. I wanted to savor it, but I needed to get to their happily ever after. This was a tough journey to love for these two, but it was all worth it in the end. I'm not bashing insta-love, because lord knows I love me some insta-love, but I appreciated the fact that this wasn't the case for Lip and Cherry. There was a slow build-up there, and it was a lot of work, but that made it that much special when they finally experienced it.
You can't go wrong with this series. Every character brings something special to the table and it seems like the stories keep getting better and better. MC Romance lovers will immediately sink their teeth in to this baby and they will not want to let go. If you are looking for a light, fluffy romance, this is not your book. This book has meat. This book has substance. This book has so much heart. Get ready for one shocking, incredibly, and intense journey.

This story starts off in the past, allowing us to witness the events that brought Cherry and Lip together, before jumping into the present where Lip has returned from a stint in prison.
Cherry is a bit of a wild and free spirit. In the beginning when we first meet her she comes off as her age, young and at times gullible. The story progresses, and she too grows up. She becomes this feisty redhead, with a heart of gold but a temper just as destructive.
Lip is charming, very much so when we are introduced to who he was before he took the fall for one of his brothers, earning himself a patch. After he serves his time he is someone completely different. A monster was released from behind those bars and the Lip we thought we knew is no more.
Lip and Cherry have the kind of love story you can't help but root for. Even when their relationship is at its worst, you are there right with them still cheering them on and standing behind both characters as the heartbreak they feel leaks into your pours.
The Lies Between Us will pull many feelings from within you, the angst alone drowning you in what was real versus what wasn't, the buildup of tension so hot and explosive you can't help but feel as if you two may combust... and it is there M.N. Forgy sits, waiting to throw a twist so unexpected at you that you'll never see it coming. You will question everything, second guess your initial thoughts all while trying to figure out if love can survive lies.

In THE LIES BETWEEN US Forgy delivers another roller coaster ride of secrets, lies, passion, and unlikely redemption. Cherry and Lip are both so damaged that in a sad way they are perfect for each other. Hardened and jaded, neither is counting on undying love and a ride into the sunset. The attraction and need between them is intense but the way things unfold I was holding my breath for them. The twists surrounding Cherry were the kind that will make you pause in your reading so that you can take it all in. Lip is a powder keg of aggression with a short fuse that even leaks over into how he interacts with Cherry. When things blow up it is so big that I wasn't sure how things would ever be made right.
I love it when truly damaged up people get a dose of happy; especially when they have to endure hardships that would break most people. Forgy dumps a whole lot of misery and unfairness into the backgrounds of Cherry and Lip in a way that makes the reader become invested in wanting happiness for them. THE LIES BETWEEN US is another fantastic addition to THE DEVIL'S DUST series and is going on my favorite reads list.

This book is a fantastic addition to the devils dust series.
It's great to see how lip and cherry came together. The story is crafted so perfectly that I felt I was learning the back story of two friends rather than fictional characters.
Cherry is dealing with the terrifying consequences of her actions when she meets Lip, he helps her with her 'car' trouble, that's the start of their long and complicated relationship.
Both of them are hiding secrets that puts strains on their relationship, throw in some 'club business' that lands Lip in trouble and it's a dysfunctional rollercoaster from start to finish.

10 I love these crew, but I hate when someone leaves...but it's the way of the mc. I would love to see a lady and bull and Stevin story. She was a bitch I refuse to like her but that is a story I want.

M.N.Forgy you did it again..great story,twisting you'll never expect and great ending with a promise for more.Cherry and Lip's story seems at first just usuall love story but somewhere in the middle of the book..bum..a twist to drop your mouth to the floor... Holly Christ on a stick...

The best full-length book in the series! (I adored Dani & Shadow's novella the most.) Loads of angst, betrayal, violence & skewed romance in this one!
I really liked Lip & Cherry together. Loved Cherry's sassiness, determination & the way she went to bat for the club throughout the series. I loved Lip... then I didn't... then I liked him at the end. This couple couldn't get their act together soon enough!
I felt Lip's betrayal tens times more than I did Cherry's though. I get it. This MC has ALWAYS been club comes first but the way he made Cherry look like a huge flippin' fool for six years... Ouch, that hurt my heart so bad. I realize it was because of Bull but it still cut like a knife.

There is one final book in this series, What Might Kill Us, but I'm not sure if I want to read it or skip to the spin-off series. I usually NEVER skip books but I'm just not psyched for a Bull book. *shrugs*
I really liked Lip & Cherry together. Loved Cherry's sassiness, determination & the way she went to bat for the club throughout the series. I loved Lip... then I didn't... then I liked him at the end. This couple couldn't get their act together soon enough!
I felt Lip's betrayal tens times more than I did Cherry's though. I get it. This MC has ALWAYS been club comes first but the way he made Cherry look like a huge flippin' fool for six years... Ouch, that hurt my heart so bad. I realize it was because of Bull but it still cut like a knife.

Another couple I came to love. Cherry was a feisty character throughout all the previous books. I was so glad to get to know her better.
She and Lip definitely had some huge lies to get passed, but their HEA was much deserved.

This was an emotional read and I was thrilled when Lip and Cherry finally had their moment. I was worried throughout a large part of this book, but they managed to not let The Lies Between (Us) them ruin all they had overcome.

5 Cherry Lip stars!!! OMG this book was so beyond good!!! I mean, I don’t even think they make a word for how great this book was or is!!! I love this series and I love love love this book!!!!

I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I loved Lip and Cherry’s story!!! I thought I loved Shadow, but d@mn I love Lip!!! Cherry has had a rough life, to say the least, after becoming pregnant and having her baby ripped away from her by the father, she has no choice but turn to the street. She figures out a way to make money, she pretends her car is broke down and while the unsuspecting people are looking under her hood, she pickpockets them. This is how she meets Lip, but he catches on her to her games and is intrigued. He offers her a place to stay, noticing she’s living in her car, even though she denies it. And as much as she tries to deny her feelings for Lip, she’s crazy for him. But things take a drastic turn for them both. Will they survive?? OMG I loved, this book so much!!! I love Lip and Cherry together, I think they may be favorite!!!

Can I clap for M.N. Forgy? She is a success! This series was BEAUTIFUL in a raw way. It was different even though there are many other books about MC and bikers. But its been a while since I loved a series in this genre and I am not disappointed. I am in love.
My family was never big on religion, but when you get desperate, when you reach the point nobody on Earth is going to help you, you pray that there is a higher power, something that can pull you from the dark pit you’re in. You hope with all your might that things will get better; otherwise, why the hell are we even here?
We witness the changes that happens to the characters through out this book. Specially Cherry. She started as someone and by the end she transformed entirely. I loved this! She was that naïve woman, and slowly we saw her bloom and grow. I felt happy while reading about her and her journey. I wanted her to have the peace she desperately seeks. I loved how she was devoted to Lip. She stood tall and proud by her man when he was in prison, even after he got out and started acting strangely , her love never became less. She wanted him so she fought for me.
There is something about gazing into someone’s eyes that makes you vulnerable. You see more than just the color of the iris—you see the color of their soul. The intensity of them has me taking a step back, and I draw in a sudden breath.
Lip was two characters in one body. The gentleman who was influnced deeply by his mother and the beast he really wanted to unleash. I loved when he was his true self. I hated reading about a different Lip at the begining. I felt like it was all a lie when everything became clear and this when I became conflicted about Lip. But after he showed his true colours, I loved the transformation and how protective he was of Cherry.
Will we destroy one another, or make a new world with the pieces of each other?
This side characters were missed. I loved getting a glimpse of Shadow and Dani. Bobby and Doc. Of course the kids were just an adorable bonus! I felt devastated when it came to Tom Cat, I wanted him to have his own book!!!
I still want more of this series.

What I didn't like about the book was reading and then suddenly nearing the end , a bomb was dropped. I hated feeling like it was all just a big fat lie. I started doubting the characters and I didn't like this, but I still wanted to reach the end so bad! Lip and Cherry will always be one of my favourite characters!!
The day I stole Lip’s wallet, he stole my heart.
Despite the lies between them , Lip and Cherry managed to find the truth within each other.
