Dyson Vix. The bad boy of Formula One Racing. The first time I met him he was completely naked, and he couldn't have cared less. The second time I saw Dyson, he just stood there, staring at me. His fire suit hung low on his waist, and his body was dripping in sweat, grease and... well, you get the idea. The ultimate playboy, there isn't a hairpin turn he can't handle or a woman he can't have. Dyson lives life like he drives - hard, determined, and like it might be his last day. We couldn't have been more different. After a family tragedy, I've been left to raise my nephew, Simon, all alone. Raising him has given me more joy than I could've imagined, but it came at a price. He is my entire world, and everything I do is with him in mind. I haven't had a date in months, instead focusing solely on him. Man troubles are the last thing we need, especially the kind reckless thrill seeker Dyson Vix would bring. But fate has other ideas. I've been thrust into his fast-paced world, and the more time I spend with him -- the more I see of the troubled man behind the roguish charm -- the more my resolve crumbles. Our chemistry is undeniable but isn't without risk. Jealousy and threats to my home life mean I could lose everything I've worked so hard to protect. The stakes have never been higher. Will we make it, or are we destined to crash and burn? "The Fastlane Series books are stand alone romance novels featuring unique lovers and happy endings. No cliffhangers! Book one of the Fastlane Series, Surge has set a good amount of potential for this brand new racer-romance themed series.

Ava Walters has had a hard life. Solely raising her nephew, Simon, and trying to provide him with a better life and managing her own dreams and career, has left her at a crossroads in life.

She meets badboy and notorious womanizing Formula One driver, Dyson Vix, during one of his physicals, as she was the nurse administering his vitals, and from there she emits an infatuated attraction for him. But, with his rugged handsome looks, wealth, lag of groupies, and tumultuous dance with the life on the fast lane, she knows that no good can come from getting involved with him no matter how much her inner thighs flush with desire around him.

That’s easier than said, until, she ends up taking the position of his health care liaison while on race tour, and lines become blurred between the two, and Dyson’s fixation and ambition to win become a deadly obsession to reach the top.

Not to mention, when Ava’s guardianship of Simon is jeopardized and Dyson is thrown in the mix of her clusterf*$k of problems 101, how will business and pleasure forebode in this tantalizing read about love, family, dreams, and sacrifice?

A very high staked read with a lot on the characters’ plates. My heart truly bled for Ava as nothing seemed to go right in her life and she always had to put her wants, needs, and dreams on the back burner to being a good aunt and surrogate mom to her nephew.

Her relationship with Dyson was not bad in terms of repertoire and growth. While I did find them a lovely couple, I wish there was more development with Dyson as to how he began to fall in love with Ava. I always felt that Ava, being the selfless lass that she is, always kept giving and giving, and he hardly returned the favor in return.

Dyson, to me, was wrapped a lot in his hard headed and hot blooded ways, and at times, made me feel a disconnection with his character. It almost made me wonder, how the hell would anyone fall in love with him. The man had a chip up his shoulder, annoying sluts causing trouble, and was his own worst enemy. Seriously, he was a good guy with a generous heart, but he was also extremely hot and cold. Wishy, washy to say the least.

Ava, man, I totally was egging and egging for her constantly to set this man in his place, as he was constantly going off and having mood swings. She did not deserve such mundane treatment. And yet, she could see the light in Dyson and what made him redeemable when I as a reader could not understand or comprehend at times.

And lastly, the race scenes. Being that Dyson is a racer and Ava got dragged in to work for him and his team, I really liked how realistic it was. Granted, Dyson wasn’t perfect and had his flaws as a driver, I enjoyed that about him. I just wish that the final and championship race scene did not cut off the way it did. It felt a bit abrupt and made it feel anti-climatic. One second I was in the race, and the next, I was not. I had literally gone back and re-read that part a few times.

Otherwise, all in all, a great read!! I know that I had a lot to say and critique, but, do not misunderstand that I did not appreciate this read. I did. I just had a love-hate kind of relationship with Dyson is all.

I really hope that Marco’s story is up next!! Maybe he will be paired up with Ava’s bestie and roommate? … I also want MORE Ed!! Hot lawyer alert, woohoo!!

DNF at 12%

Basically a DNF at 5%. The opening scene features the H, Dyson, bringing two groupies along to his doctor’s appointment. The h, Ava, is the nurse. He has sex with the groupies in the doctor’s office immediately following his exam. YUK!
I tried to prevail, hoping I could get past that, but I’m sorry, that’s just not a romantic introduction to the H or the MC. I officially bailed in the following scenes where Dyson acts like a total jerk trying to get her to go out with him even though the groupies are still hanging all over him and acting like his girlfriends. He says they are not, but yet they clearly have staked a claim to him. Ava appears to be easily swayed and gives into him despite how he acts and what she knows about him. I prefer my h’s to be stronger and have better resolve. So instead of being pulled into them as a possible couple, I was rooting for her to tell him where to go and stick to it.

Ehh, meh, yuck'o, yawn...

As a nurse and having seen some shit go down in doctor's office exam rooms that would gag a maggot, let me just say that this is the last place I'd EVER have sex, especially a 20 minute threesome. Good Gawd At The a Germs!

So, racing dude goes to a physical with his two Russian groupie/ sex toys. He hits on the female MC, who is his nurse, and then has sex in the exam room with the groupies. That's just nasty shit for the sake of being nasty.

Female MC has to bring paperwork to the racetrack. Male MC talks her into coming back with her nephew, whom she is raising.

One of his groupies is all over him as he is asking female MC out to eat. He dismisses groupie by basically saying she can get w the manho program or get to stepping. Lovely, huh?

Female mc actually agrees to go out w him after witnessing that shit.

I'm just out of patience for and bored by manho cockysure and female dufus doormat characters.

I'm also not a fan of the author's stiff and dry writing style.

I managed to hang in there until 25%, but there is absolutely nothing making me want or need to turn the next page. So, this book clearly just isn't going to work for me.

Surge is the first in a new series from Fastline series from Sloane Storm and I enjoyed my first book from this author. There is plenty to love about this book and I can’t wait for more of this series as I loved Ava and Dyson !

Ava Walter is a woman who experienced more then her fair share of bad luck thanks to way life turned out of her. Her mother is no help and she raising her nephew Simon on her own with help from her friend Jillian as Simon’s father is long gone. She given up her dreams in order to provide for him and give him a better life . She is smart but working as a nurse is the only way to provide then so be it . Working at a doctor’s office, she leads an ordinary but tough life never expecting to cross paths with someone who she will have devastating affect on her life. However fate has other ideas.

Formula One has comes racing into Austin , Texas and she gets entangled into this world by chance. As it so happens her boss is a friend of the doctor of the team that Dyson Vix races for and the team Doctor has problems with his passport leaving him unable to join the team. Leaving the team needing a doctor and offer the job to her boss after he takes the Dyson’s and Macro’s physicals.

Unfortunately he can’t join them due to the last minute notice and offers up Ava his more then capable nurse. Leaving her in a rock and hard place as the job is a life saviour offering her much need funds. But then there is Dyson, the man she can’t get out of his head ever since his physical as there was undeniable attraction that she couldn’t shake. However he is the last one she wants to know, as his life is a mess. It might have to do with the fact he might have some fun with his groupies in the exam room or is because he is a bad boy who lives for the fast lane ?

Either way he is bad news but she can’t help desire him despite his actions. Plus the fact he is willing to go after her even what he did. Dyson might not care what he did in the exam room as it was harmless fun right. But he can’t get Ava out of his head and is offering to do things that he never would do for woman and wanting to know her better.

However it isn’t that easy as whilst she takes the position and Dyson woes wanting her to , a streak of problems pop up leaving her struggling to deal with life and Dyson who got his set of problems which seems to fall on Ava’s shoulders. Will they ever sort things out.

It may be a fast sport but this book isn’t any but a fast pace romance. The author does take the time to let us discover the characters and get a good grip on them. HOwver it feels more Ava’s story because Dyson his problems were clean cut. Ava seemed to get tangled into one thing or another and Dyson somehow also did. But she was the glue holding them together and the only peson who understood him. Scary considering that Dyson was all about being fast. The author messed these two perfectly together and

Surge is the first book I have read of this author and hopefully this won’t be the love as I love her brand of sport romance. I haven’t had an opportunity to read much car racing ones and Formula 1 was one I wanted to read as I’m fascinated by this sport and was curious to know. Thank you Sloane Storm for wrtitng this book and hopefully there will be more Formula 1 action in this series as there is a certain someone who looks like they are single just saying. . SO if you love fast cars and bad boys Fastline is the series for you!

OH MY LORD Sloan I think I love you more and more whith each book you write.. good god and all that is holy.. FIRST OFF that COVER.. Holy Hell that is HOTT... and then Dyson..REALLY Ummmm gimme one.. Pretty Please.. Ok Ok back to the book.. This book is beyond amazing and I could go on for hours talking about it.. I absoutly fell for Dyson and Ava.. these two are scorching..

Ava is a nurse.. hoping to one day go back to school so she can become a doctor. Then one day something sooo tragic happens that in a instant she has become guardian to her young nephew.. **Let just say I absoutly adored Simon**

Dyson is weeeeellll HOT, SEXY, COCKY, FULL OF HIMSELF.. but he is also the hottest Formula One racer on the circut right now.. He is good and he knows it.. he can have just about any woman he wants.. And after Dyson and Ava's first meeting he wants Ava..

See since Ava is a nurse.. Dyson had to be checked out prior to the next race.. she for the most part has just seen this man in his entire glory..

When a problem with the original Track Doctors Passport comes up they need a replacement doc ASAP..Ava's boss the main Doc at her office just can not leave to help the team till the original Doc's passport issue is fixed.. but he offers up Ava.. now Ava is not a doctor yet but when she gets put on the spot how can she refuse to help.. plus the money they offer.. WOW that will really help out.. and its only a couple months..

I am telling you right now.. this book is phenominal.. I love this author and have read everythng she has written. you will not be disapointed..

“The feel of his skin against mine sent a shock through my body. I was powerless to resist the urge it stirred within me. After a moment or two, I opened my eyes once again to see him looking straight into them.”

5 fastlane stars!!! This is so good from page one on!! I was instantly sucked in and didn’t come out until the end!! I loved every minute of this book!

Dyson Vix. The bad boy of Formula One Racing.

The first time I met him he was completely naked, and he couldn’t have cared less.

The second time I saw Dyson, he just stood there, staring at me. His fire suit hung low on his waist, and his body was dripping in sweat, grease and… well, you get the idea.

The ultimate playboy, there isn’t a hairpin turn he can’t handle or a woman he can’t have. Dyson lives life like he drives – hard, determined, and like it might be his last day.

We couldn’t have been more different. After a family tragedy, I’ve been left to raise my nephew, Simon, all alone. Raising him has given me more joy than I could’ve imagined, but it came at a price. He is my entire world, and everything I do is with him in mind. I haven’t had a date in months, instead focusing solely on him. Man troubles are the last thing we need, especially the kind reckless thrill seeker Dyson Vix would bring.

But fate has other ideas.

I’ve been thrust into his fast-paced world, and the more time I spend with him -- the more I see of the troubled man behind the roguish charm -- the more my resolve crumbles. Our chemistry is undeniable but isn’t without risk. Jealousy and threats to my home life mean I could lose everything I’ve worked so hard to protect.

The stakes have never been higher.

Will we make it, or are we destined to crash and burn?

Dyson is a bad boy and a formula one racer! Ava is a nurse who meets Dyson while getting his vitals during a checkup and to say she was instantly smitten would be an understatement. But given his lifestyle she knows it would never work with him, so she decides to stay away. Well that’s the plan until he brings her on his team as his health care liaison. Of course they can no longer deny the attraction they feel for each other and fate takes over. But what happens when her problems come to surface threatening everything they have together?? And how will she deal with Dyson’s obsession to be number one in all things?? This book is fast paced and beyond sexy!!!

Dyson Vix... oh, what can I say about Dyson Vix?

He's the very definition of racing bad boy. Tall, dark, sexy grin, strong, alpha. He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it at all costs. Sometimes that means taking risks on the track and off, but that's just the way he likes it. He's that love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy that isn't looking to settle down any time soon, or ever for that matter. His schedule keeps him busy, so it's never been a real issue for him; the Grid Girls are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Ava Walters doesn't have time for relationships, she's got responsibilities that she must put first. Her job pays the bills and her dream is to be able to finish her degree. She may not be where she had hoped to be, but she's happy with her life. But as fate would have it, Ava gets news that threaten everything she's worked for.

In order to make her keep her promise to the one person in her life that means the world to her, she takes a job that keep her in contact with the one person she doesn't want to be attracted to... Dyson.

The more time they spend together, the greater the sexual tension gets. At some point, you know that it's going to combust and when it does, hold onto your hats people! Their rollercoaster relationship is full of ups, downs, and twists. The best you can do is hold on and enjoy the ride.

This story is Sloan Storm's first full length, stand alone book in her new series, Fastlane. It's got a dirty mouth bad boy that has that sexy grin that will melt your panties off. A strong, independent woman that isn't afraid to stand her ground and speak her mind. The story line is raw and breathtakingly stunning. This series is shaping up to be a wild ride that can't be missed. And that ending is perfect for this couple and I can't wait see what sizzling story Sloan will give us next.

I love these stories...usually, but this one lacked something.

I did not feel the connection like I would have loved to. The hero was everything I usually love as well as the heroine, but the execution of the story fell short for me. It started out really great, but then it lost me.

Ava is a nurse when Dyson is in for a check-up. He is there with two Russian women who he keeps on the side for sex. They are groupies to the race world. Before he leaves the examination room, he has sex with the two women with no worries. Not caring who knows, etc. Ava is disgusted and acts like she does not care, but as the reader you know she does. Anyway, Ava is asked by the doctor to drop off Dyson's test results to him. That means she has to see him again which she is not happy about. Dyson shows interest in Ava and asks her to come to a race. Ava declines since she already has enough on her plate and is not looking for a relationship and especially not one with a man-whore like Dyson. However, Dyson says she can bring whomever she wants and she thinks that her nephew who she takes care of will like it. Dyson is sweet and caring and there is a strong attraction between the two MCs, but the problem is that I did not feel IT. I did not feel what I love to feel in these type of stories.

Ava gives in to her feelings too quickly after knowing the type of man Dyson is which I think could have been my initial problem. She falls too quickly and puts up with too much. The story in the end did not work for me.

I received a free copy of this book for a honest review, Surge is the first book in Sloan Storms Fastlane series.

You can feel the attraction between Ava Walters and Dyson Vix from the very first chapter.

Ava Walters has lost everything and nothing in her life, looks after her nephew Simon, who is the loves more than anything in the world and would do anything to make sure is is happy.

Dyson Vix is a hot formula one racing driver who is also a player has everything at his finger tips and can have any woman he wants, is not into relationships and especially woman with children to complicated for him. He is also use to getting what he wants.

Through out this book the relationship between these to runs hot and cold but they do want each other, Ava resist as much as she can but when things get really complicated and Dyson helps her sort them out she knows she is in too deep.

I loved this book and hated it, I felt that the story line should have explained more of Dyson’s point of view. Even though the book went from Ava to Dyson’s thoughts it really did explain how Dyson came to his conclusions for his feel for Ava.

I wanted more I want to know what happens next and if the Bobbsey twins Sletvana and Anastaisa came to just disappear, his side his feelings. With saying this I still enjoyed the book.

I gave it 4 stars and hope that maybe in book two of this series we may have some follow up or continuation.

I was very excited to read this story. I love sports books.. There are some many things I love about the book but also some many things I really didn't like. Eva is one of my favorite characters, she is strong and self sacrificing.. She gave up her dreams for the well being of her nephew.. She puts herself second and I love that about her. I feel I could relate and connect with her. Dyson I really didn't like him so much, he is all about himself. I am still working on my feelings for him. The story was there, I just think that the things that made me dislike the story took me way from liking it more. I felt the author use too many unnecessary details, yes descriptions are good but too much makes the story slow and boring. Also I didn't like how they used the character's name in every conversation. No one constantly uses other peoples names while having a conversation, it just doesn't sound right.. It really bothered me at times. Overall I like the story but I really didn't feel the chemistry between Dyson and Eva, it felt like something was missing. This was my first time reading something by this author but I look forward to seeing what else this author comes out with.

Dyson and Ava meet when he attends his doctor's appointment with 2 groupies and she is his attending nurse. Ava claims to be repulsed by Dyson and yet, throughout the book, she is intrigued by him. Ava is temporary guardian to her nephew, Simon, and does all she can to make his life better. I wanted to like Ava, but found myself questioning most of her actions. She would say one thing and then do another. Dyson continually treated her and everyone else like crap and yet, I was supposed to believe that he was in love with her. I was unable to make that connection. Insta-love needs to be built and not ignored which is what happened in this book. I was hard pressed to believe when his family claimed to know how he felt about her when even I, who was reading his POV some of the time, didn't know it. When Dyson crashed his car, I was left wondering how if Ava was his nurse, why she didn't immediately go onto the track and check on him. Instead she waited like she was his girlfriend and somehow was grouped in with his family when they went to see him. The whole talking to him while driving was just ridiculous and caused an eye roll that should have sent me to the ER. Their connection was missing for me.

I don't know how to rate this book! This was one of those books I really enjoy at the very beginning but unfortunately was one of them that almost going to the end... well something happens and it starts to slow and get a little boring.

The first part? I loved and enjoyed and laughed so much with this book! It was really entertaining and the characters were so easy to read and so well created that I seriously couldn’t stop reading.

At the 64% of this book... well everything was a little meh. I don't know but was a constant on and off till the last chapters. Maybe everything happened too quickly or maybe something didn't work for me and I felt a little disappointed. Just in the last chapters everything worked out really good... and my feelings recovered.

What didn't worked for me was the way Ava realized that she had feeling for Dyson... after his mom threw to her insults? No thank you. Also Dyson was starting acting like a stubborn asshat and well that kind of pissed me off.

Anyway... the journey with this book was hilarious! Ups and downs but at the end it worked for me! I hope I can read more about this author soon!

We first meet the Formula One driver and notorious playboy when he needs testing done for racing. When Ava sees Dyson she never seen anyone like him but it gets uncomfortable when the rude Grid Girls (Anastasia & Svetlana) are there. With the doc having problems with his passport Ava is offered the job of Doc for the team. Spending time with Dyson will be challenging. With other issue that come up for Ava will get world come tumbling down or will she get what she deserve a HEA?I enjoyed this book, I had my reservations about Dyson but when he protected Ava it shows another side of him. Hopefully we will get Marco's story next

Simply Brilliant story it’s jammed packed with excitement and thrilling moments!

Ava is a nurse who works tremendously hard and also her nephews guardian after a tragic incident.

Dyson is a sexy race car driver who can literally have any woman he wants and he won’t stop until he has Ava.

An issue irises with the original doctor who attends to the drivers and they need a replacement Ava’s boss comes to the rescue and sends her although she isn’t a doctor she can definitely help out and the money will definitely help her situation.

Dyson and Ava’s attraction is captivating and intriguing. A great fast paced read!

Dyson is a Formula One race car driver. And a womaniser. Ava is a nurse with dreams of becoming a doctor and adopting her nephew. After encountering each other in the track in the hopes of getting lucky he doesn't expect a child to be with her.

I really enjoyed this book. The racing was intense and the feelings portrayed by the characters were true to life. I did have to remove a star from my rating because I felt at times there was the occasional over explanation of events. But overall a fun read that will have your adrenaline pumping.

This book had me hooked from the very first sentence. It's a brilliantly written story that is fast paced, exciting and at times heart stopping. The main characters Dyson and Ava are really well developed and their attraction and chemistry is fascinating! This is a really lovely love story, is quite different from what's out there and as with all of Sloan's books so far, it's sexy, captivating, intriguing and has enough drama to keep you interested. I have come to the conclusion that Sloan and write no wrong!!!

This is the story of Dyson and Ava.
Dyson is a Formula one driver who is currently out of control in his life.
Ava is just trying to raise her nephew and make a living.
The chemistry between them seems to be hot, however there are too many distractions in the middle of this affair.
I didn't feel Ava was a strong character and Dyson was too cocky. I just don't see them together in my mind.
My opinion on this book is it was not one of the best ones I have read, however it did have some good parts to it as well as some parts that did not hold my interest

I’m a big F1 fan and I am always on the look out for good books, both romance and non romance, that combine a racing element within them.

This series was so highly rated on tiktok and other mediums that I thought why not give it a go.

It’s not bad. Not by any means. But as a big F1 fan the F1 elements annoyed me as they were unrealistic and the author used the wrong terminology throughout. Really removed me from the storyline.

Give the Driven series a go instead if you are looking for a racing related romance series. Or the Toby Vinctcent books for a really good F1 fiction series.
