From Manon Lescaut through to Turandot with Tosca, Madama Butterfly as well as others we are given a beautifully detailed description of Puccini's most famous plays.

Although Hughes is an authority figure on his subject matters, what cannot escape the reader is both his love and passion for his subjects.

The book gives the reader a greater understanding of these beautiful operas and for that Mr. Hughes I thank you.
