This title is one in the “Brands We Know” series and introduces intermediate readers to the story of Coca-Cola. Informal text recounts the drink’s invention in 1886 to lukewarm reviews at best. But with clever advertising and willingness to adapt to consumer demands, the narrative explains the company’s huge success with one of the best known and popular drinks worldwide. Numerous fun facts, photographs and infographics will keep readers engaged as they learn about the many other products offered by the Coca-Cola Company, the company’s philanthropic efforts around the world, and their willingness to create healthier soft drink choices. Back matter includes a timeline, glossary, bibliography, publisher’s website and index. The title would be a worthwhile addition to any library.
