I read this series a few years ago and I seriously LOVED it!
I haven't reread it since but these books were one of my favourites before I joined the fandom (:

Since I was a kid I wanted to read these books. And for whatever reasons I did not have the chance. So what is more logical than to start reading them durring the summer of 2015 when I was 22 years old...... I just had nothing to do and I wanted something 'light' to read. So I began! Nothing in this world could prepare me for the addiction these books would turn into. I love these books! All of them. My favourite one being Scorpia. They are just great. Without even realising it I was in my room all day reading. I finished the whole series in 1.5 weeks! Are these books for kids? sure! Did I enjoy them though? More than I hoped!! I love the fact that the plot is a little dark. It might provide you with a happy ending, but things are not as happy as they can be. And book by book one can see that very clearly.... I suggest this book to everyone that is looking for an adventurous book that makes you want more and more and even more!!!

The series is thoroughly engaging. Alex rider surely sets a great stage for action drama. I'm sure teenagers would love to read it and relate to the characters. I read this book when I was 12. It is indeed simple yet engaging.
The plot are well driven and we'll connected. The stories proceed with changing times , really as the second one was based at the time of Dolly the sheep. The antagonists are well curated as they must be with some other objective than 'ruling' the world. Their aim seems do real than other stories I must say. They change with stories, at times you feel if you're really reading a teenage book as Mafia appears at several stages. The most impressive and important is undoubtedly Yassen Gregorovich which one meets throughout the series. If you feel you have got the end of it at the third part, you're wrong. He serves much as useful in his afterlife.
The locations too change from vibrant towns to deadly islands. They have a rich feel of carrying themselves with you. You get into the places and travel the character.
But there have been books which I felt were a bit off course. Snakehead was too difficult to go through and not an enjoyable read. It was dull and boring lacking good plot and antagonist at the same time. There are some other instances too as the reader feels as if the plot went off road. Sometimes it feels confusing and the endings of some can be a bit damp to some. However Alex's courage and excitement clubbed with good humour fills the gap and be saves the day. A must recommend.

If there was such thing as a 3.5 star rating, this would be the book series. There are some books that are just so entertaining, so much detail feeling like a James Bond movie, with missions that peak my interest, and then there are just others that feel bland and repetitive. This entire book series just feels repetitive, and gets tiring after the first five books. My suggestion is to read the first five books, see if you like it or not and move on. I only read the entire book series because books 1 and 2 just brought me into the genre making me love it so, SO much, but the rest are just lackluster and repetitive. A good read, but not something I'd read again.

This series was really good but the middle 3 books got a bit repetitive. It’s very action-filled and keeps me on my toes. It really got me into it because when Alex rider was underwater I was actually holding my breath! It’s really really really good.👍

These books are fast paced. They keep you on the edge of your seat. I've noticed that in each book there is a part that has you holding your breath as you read it. Awesome books!

I'M READING THE ALEX RIDER BOOKS NOW. THEY'RE FOR KIDS, BUT THE CHEESY BOND-LITE STUFF IS FUN, AND I FEEL SO BAD FOR THIS TRAUMATIZED BABBY SPY WHO SAYS BOND ONE-LINERS AFTER KILLING PEOPLE.

LOL IL'D THOSE BOOKS AS A KID. IIRC THE CHARACTERIZATION WAS PRETTY THIN BUT THEY WERE SUCH FUN SPY ADVENTURE BOOKS.

Y, THEY'RE LIGHT AND ENTERTAINING READS! LOL I STARTED READING THEM BECAUSE A FUTUREFIC GOT ME INTRIGUED BY YASSEN/ALEX, EVEN THOUGH INO HE'S TWO, YOU SICK FUCK, BUT I'M GENUINELY ENJOYING THE CANON SPY ADVENTURE STUFF.
