Rinka, who had gone missing, arrives back in Tokyo to put a stop to the plans of a terrorist organization that threatens Tokyo with a dangerous weapon, and rescue Ren and Marume from their evil clutches. But where had Rinka been that whole time? And what had she been doing? The truth is darker than the White Girl could have imagined...
The first half has an awful lot of stuff happening which I found myself getting kind of confused with. Lots of fighting, etc but political intrigue coming at you as well. The whole purpose is to establish there is a secret underground world that has kidnapped someone we thought was dead. The second half is much better! Rinka accepts an assignment from the CIA to infiltrate the organisation, bring it down and rescue the person. The setting now moves from Tokyo to Hong Kong. Lots of violence here, she trains then is sent in where superheroes are traded through human trafficking and ends up in a battle rich people play to have their superheroes battle each other. Rinka gets in really, really deep!
Honestly, Rinka is so much more interesting than Ren. I'm not sure why the mangaka decided to create Ren and her crew, they just pale in comparison to the OG crew. Hope we get more Rinka moving forward. <3
While enjoyable, this omnibus volume is not yet to the level of volumes 3 and 4. The tournament at the end of this volume will continue into the next. I'm not sure whether it is here to further the story or to provide fan service.
