Such a beautiful play. Deals with the very timely topic of abortion and how complicated the morality of both sides get. Pretty ahead of it’s time considering it was written in 1999.

Not her best but still pretty damn good. Macleod is my dialogue hero and she doesn't slouch in that department in The Water Children. She is clearly one smart and cooky cookie. It is impressive that she was able to take such a taboo topic -- abortion -- and breath some humor into it without being insensitive. I believe that I read she herself had had an abortion, I suppose that is how she can speak so honestly about the subject. I should say, I am a gay man so I don't have a lot of experience in this arena, but the voices of the characters ring true and they span from the very pro life to the very pro choice and all of the confusing levels in-between.

I would love to see this play.
