Perfume chemist Josh Stevens has spent years making a life for himself in New York City and climbing up the corporate ladder of Kiss and Makeup, a global cosmetics company. Though his cousin, Emma, whips up soul mate predictions with their late grandmother’s pink enchanted mixing spoon each Monday during Batter Up night, he’d rather experiment with vanilla perfume oil than vanilla extract any day. Buttermilk Falls and magic are not for him.

Little did he know that a run in last summer with the one woman from his hometown he’s tried all these years to forget would turn his bachelor life upside down and bring him back for good.

Caitlin Reynolds just needs a second chance. Sure, she’s done some questionable things in the past, but as the new owner of the Majestic Theater she is determined to turn her life around, contribute to the town’s livelihood, and prove to all of Buttermilk Falls that she’s more than the spoiled rich girl who got pregnant.

While Josh and Caitlin adjust to their new normal, they begin to realize just how strong their feelings are for one another. But are they destined for each other? A ghost who likes to roam the Majestic theater in a wedding dress and watch classic movies might be able to answer that.

This light-hearted, fun romance held me captive from cover to cover. Neeley makes Buttermilk Falls the town that you’re dying to go to in order to find your own true love. The mix of romance and real people, with a dash of romance on the side, makes this the perfect way to spend a day, lost within the pages of this unforgettable novel.

Caitlin and Josh were pricelessly endearing in this one. I loved the way that they danced around each other without admitting what they were truly feeling. The comical and at times heartbreaking interactions between the two led me to get to know them on so many levels. Neeley’s character development was phenomenal. It is all woven into the seamless plot of the tale, creating a one of a kind approach to romance (and baking). I loved the details as well as the overall plot.

Neeley never fails to charm and enchant me with her magical writing. KISS AND MAKE UP was no exception. My final thoughts? More Batter Up Night please!

I ended up liking this one more than I thought. In the past 2 books Caitlin was a bitch and I wasn't sure that I would be able to like her enough to root for her HEA. She quickly grew on me, mostly because I felt sorry for her. Stuck with the babies and the baby daddy far away. She dealt with things as good as she could. I did like her getting involved with the theater, it gave her something to focus on other than her woe is me situation.

I'm iffy on Josh, he was a bit wishy washy, crushed on Caitlin for years, but then when the babies came seemed to back off like she was rotten. I did like the whole bit with finding the blue spoon and the ghost. Was glad everything worked out for them in the end.

Kiss and Make Up is an enjoyable small-town, clean romance with a little bit of magic and spooky moments. It’s book three in the Bachelors of Buttermilk Falls series and, although it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading book one and two first, in order to enjoy it a little more.
The book introduces two characters that in the previous books had been on the sidelines. I’ll be honest: I was a little skeptical when I first approached the book because, even though I’d liked the previous books and was looking forward to reading more about the quirky small town where magic is in the air, I didn’t know if I’d ever warm up to the characters.
The author did a great job pulling me right in and slowly making me care for the characters. She redeemed both the hero and the heroine, and surprised me with spooky scenes that I wasn’t expecting.
Page after page I was pulled deeper into Caitlin and Josh’s minds, and little by little I warmed up to them, understood where they were coming from and rooted for their happily-ever-after. I loved reading how hung up on Caitlin Josh was, even though to everyone else he looked as if he couldn't stay in the same room as Caitlin, whereas all he wanted was to confess his burning love.
Even though there are some scenes where you’ll be holding your breath, this book is mainly a feel-good read—a sweet, second-chance romance that will warm your heart and leave you with a contented smile when you’ve finished it, just like the previous books in the series. And, just like the previous books, when you reach the last page you’ll be looking forward to the next book. I know I already am!

Kiss and Make Up
Starring
Caitlin Reynolds and Josh Stevens

This was definitely my favorite book in the series.

Kiss and Make Up fells the story of Caitlin and Josh, who have hated each other since high school. Unfortunately for them, Josh gets Caitlin pregnant and they have to be in each other's lives once again.

As Caitlin and Josh start to fall for each other, the ghost in Caitlin's new theater threatens to tear them apart. Caitlin must find a way to get rid of the ghost in order to protect her theater and whatever relationship she might have with Josh.

Firstly, I must say that I love Caitlin's character development. She went from being the town's "mean girl" to trying to be someone she and others could be proud of. While I didn't like that Caitlin changed everything from the way she dressed to even the car she drove after becoming a mother, this was probably realistic. (Not necessarily ideal but realistic.)

I didn't like Josh very much at first (you probably wouldn't either) but as he started to evolve, he began to grow on me a little bit, and I definitely love Caitlin, as I already mentioned. I also really liked the added mystery of the ghost and the things that came with her. The ghost herself was actually pretty amazing.

The ending is open to another series taking place in this town, which is fine by me...

...because I want to read more books with BBB Burgers in them.

I started reading this novel thinking I might still hate h who was TBH a bitch in previous novel but felt bad for her when few town’s people treated her badly especially that bitch Racheal. But who I hated the most was the H. He was a complete asshole. I get he was hurt and all but he was a jerk to her in the entire novel and did not redeem himself. He didn’t even grovel and beg for her forgiveness. All he did was hurl insults at her wherever they met. It was a good thing she slapped him every time and did take his BS.

What I hated the most SPOILERS
At the end, during the wedding when he was a bastard to her once again she happily married him even though he didn’t even apologize . She acted like he didn’t say anything or more like said her some poem or shit then proposed which didn’t happen BTW and next time they met she was all smiles and let’s get married.

Loved how you were kept in suspense right up until the last chapter. The lead in from the previous book this one is just the right amount of suspense without giving the next book away. Kaitlyn and Josh didn’t get a conventional start to their relationship but the way it unfolds over the course of the book has been believing in magic spoons. Parenthood with somebody you cannot define your feelings for must be absolutely confusing because you have this on conditional love for your children but there is this person has such a big part of their life that you can’t connect the two in your emotions. All in all I absolutely love this series cannot wait to read the fourth book.

I was dead set on not liking Caitlyn, but I have decided she just needed the responsibility of becoming a parent to make her grow up. Caitlyn's dream to refurbish the local movie theater faces the drama of a ghost, a wedding plan from the tourism board, and the need to make everyone in this story jealous. Buttermilk Falls may also finally have a way to let the single ladies have a chance at the magic batter spell! As always super cute!

This one was better than the one before and I’m thinking these books get progressively better when read in order. Now I’ve got all the backstory on the town and prior events to book 4. There’s a 5 and a 6…but I’ll come back to the series once I clear the decks of some other stuff. Maybe. We’ll see. Yeah, I’m going to 5 next.

I am loving this series and new author. I am listening to the books and by listening I am able to listen to more books than I was able to read. I still love reading and holding a book but I am enjoying audio books. This would be the perfect series to start at Thanksgiving and maybe finish on Valentines Day.

Another light romance in this series. I am finding I need a break from all the serious books and serious news out there right now and this series is filling the bill. This one adds a bit of a ghost story to the mix, which was fun.

Another taste of magic

I love a story with a ghost, and this light entertaining read was very enjoyable. Off to download the next in the series to see what other magic and mayhem will be occurring in Buttermilk Falls. Happy Reading

More magical than before

This book becomes much more supernatural than the others in the series so far. However, it was done in an entertaining and engaging way that pulled me in and kept me interested. Because it was more witch based than I'm used to it was harder to predict than the others and I was left guessing what would happen next on multiple occasions. This series is a cute little feel good series that always feels like a hallmark movie.

This is the third offering of The Buttermilk Falls series. This is a lovely story of how true love will always win out over everything, with a little of the hocus pocus Magic included that this place is almost famous for. This author is fast becoming one of my favourites to be reading.

I like this series!

I read the first 2 as well. Easy reads with the small town cozy feel. Plus the interesting bit of paranormal/ghost content is that is just lightly spooky. The author had her work cut out for her with this one as the female was the mean girl from 1st and somewhat 2nd book. Did a good turn around on this and made her extremely unlikable character become believable as this books heroine. Other returning characters woven in, so reading all three in order isn't absolutely necessary but definitely makes the whole experience of the series that much better.

Loved this series, as soon as I finished one, I started the next. Light hearted cozy reads, about a small town, who is in love with falling and being in love. The first one sets up the whole series. Well written, great character development, and charming settings. There is some slightly steamy parts and lots of wonderful people to get to know. If this is the end, what a beautiful ending. Love them, cannot wait to head back to Buttermilk Falls!!
Would recommend to anyone who loves a cute and funny series about falling in love!!
Thank you for some great adventures!!
