The Blood Contract Trilogy

Rate this book
Signed over two hundred years ago, the Blood Contract ensured the sanctity of the Blood lands. In return, the Blood family dedicated their lives, and their deaths to the protection of the town of Thorne.

For many years, the town of Thorne was nothing more than a picturesque New England village. But in modern day, the town is enjoying a boom in real estate development. To satisfy the developers with enough land, the town has decided to break the Blood Contract.

And the Bloods are not pleased.
Not at all.

Now, as Autumn moves ever on towards winter, the Aldermen and the people of Thorne are going to learn that there is a price for ignorance.

And it’s higher than they could have ever imagined.

About the author

Ron Ripley

252 books517 followers
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.

Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.

This trilogy was very good by author, Ron Ripley, and it took me on a very addictive ride!

The characters are well rounded and it is very easy to become attached to them as the story rolls along.

Book One (The Blood Contract):

Do not mess with Blood property or you will regret it is the tone mainly for the first book. The Blood family has owned the property for generations and they signed a contract with the town of Thorne that no one would be allowed to ever do anything to the property. So what happens when the contract is broken and developers start trying to work on the property? The family is not named "Blood" for nothing as blood will be spilled now that the contract is no more. Ghosts of the Blood family start milling around and Trooper Jim becomes involved at trying to solve the mystery of what is happening on the property.

Book Two (The Old World):

There are worse things in the woods surrounding the Blood property and they are now able to venture out onto the property since the contract has been broken. The town of Thorne is no longer safe as the creatures spill out into the town. The author has thrown in a delightful bunch of creatures to spice up the storyline as now we have fairies, goblins, and giants running rampant in the book. Trooper Jim has met up with some of the town people to help him with the creature infestation and trying to stop the creatures from taking over.

Book Three (Ghost Town):

There are a handful of town people left to try and stop the creatures from going any farther than the town of Thorne. There is only one way for them to stop the creatures, but whether it will work or not is a risk they are all willing to take.

This was a very fast paced book and I was able to read it within two days. Lots of action, gore, mystery, and fantasy combined into all three books!

Four stars for this one.

In Book Two of The Blood Contract Trilogy: The Old World, Jim meets the dark evil, the ghost of the Blood boy, Morgan, had warned him about. However, when the dark evil revealed itself it takes everything Jim Petrov has to make sure he isn’t losing his sanity.
As he questions his sanity, he fights something he can’t believe is real. He unexpectedly finds a living, breathing ally. But isn’t just any ally, this guy has been in Nam and isn’t surprised by much—not even the dead from the Blood family. So now, Jim and his new ally, Fred O’Dierno, have been recruited to help the Blood family put the dark evil back in check, although the town of Thorne is sure not to survive the dark evil’s arrival.
I usually don’t read trilogy’s one after the other, but this trilogy is amazing. I can’t help but to continue it to the end. Ron Ripley has created a wonderfully imaginative story that I highly recommend anyone read. It’s horror, fairytale, drama, and action all rolled up into one. Very entertaining and well written.

Ron Ripley’s The Blood Contract Trilogy: Ghost Town (Book 3)
The evil darkness (and no, I’m not telling you what the dark evil is. If you want to know, you’ll have to read the book) has hit the small town of Thorne full-fledged. People of the town are dying gruesome, unspeakable deaths left and right but there are a few who are trying to make it out alive. Jim and Fred have figured out what they need to do to stop the dark evil but it won’t be an easy task to complete—alive, at least. However, with the help of the Blood family ghost and a few people they pick up along the way this may just work. So, the question is, will a few survivors of this dark evil make it out alive or will they suffer the same fate as the rest to Thorne?
Ron Ripley has created a fantastic trilogy that will excite you, scare you, and make your imagination go into overdrive. You will not believe how these books take you in to an unimaginable horror but one that is fun to read. I love this Trilogy and will be reading more from this wonderful author.

Entertaining horror listening 🎶🔰

Another will written fantasy world 🌎 haunting horror ghost 👻 demon monster adventure thriller novel by Ron Ripley and Scare Street about a town with a contract to keep the haunting horror ghost demon monsters out of the town. A few of the residents escape and sign a new contract but most disappear. I would recommend this novella and authors to readers of supernatural horror stories. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to Alexa read books 📚. 2022 😢😈😠

I had the audible version of this book.
There is a lot to like about this trilogy. Mysterious deaths, darkness and Irish legends are all here in quantity. The Town of Thorne made a pact many years earlier with the Blood Family that they would not ever enter or trespass onto their family land. For years the contract was obeyed but then the town decided to expand and, lo and behold, people start dying in horrible ways. For most of us, that would be enough of a warning to leave well enough alone, but this is Scare Street and Ron Ripley, so warnings fall on deaf ears. The result? All manner of goblins, giants, elves and other nasties begin showing up in the town to spread their particular form of joy. I shant say more lest I spoil it for those who have yet to read this series.
No ghosts you say? Au contraire my uninitiated friends. The spirits of the Blood Family dead have an important role here as well. Take a chance. You won't regret it.

The Blood Contract- something I’m thankful I don’t have to sign. It’s something I’m grateful that the town I live in hasn’t signed, or has it? The characters written in these pages are likable, are like your neighbors, they are someone you might even know in real life. Even the ghosts in the story are relatable, no matter what kind of horrors they bring down into the town. I do recommend this book to all my friends who like a good ghost story/thriller. It’s not splatterpunk, it’s not gothic gore, but a well rounded ghost story. How often are the ghosts the ones that are out to decimate the town and save it at the same time? Only 4 stars since I felt like the last of the story was missing something. It was almost like the finale was over in a blink after a long buildup. Maybe it’s just me- after such excitement and enjoyment of reading I was still yearning for something more to happen at the end.

I didn't read the summary, or any reviews of this before starting it, I just saw who the author was and dived in, and I have to say that it was not at all what I was expecting!! For the first few pages I thought this would be the typical haunting, but it's not!! There was an awesome twist to it that I loved and I'm so glad I went in knowing nothing because I was giddy when I was reading it.

The plot was fast paced, intense and all round full of awesomesauce!! The basic premise is that the Blood family has owned property in the town of Thorne for generations. The family gave some of the land to the town but a contract was written up expressly forbidding the town to encroach upon the only land the family kept. All was well for generations, until the town decided to develop on the land. With the contract breached, the Blood family can not rest, but you will need to read the book to figure out why!!

As I said, I loved the plot and the twist the author put on it. I loved the creatures and learning about why the contract was put into place. I loved all the characters and found them all to be well written and developed. The creatures were well described and I want more of them!!! So yes, I pretty much loved everything about this book and would love to see more from the characters, and the creatures.

In all, a book that truly surprised me and one I highly recommend.

Jake Urry was once again amazing. he knows how to bring across the atmosphere and has so many tones and voices for the characters that the world comes alive. He is one of my favourite narrators.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

This is a horror story. You have land given to the county except a certain area with the Blood house on it. Everything was going well, now 200 years laterthe county breaks the contract. You have a well written story with believable and interesting characters. So with the breach of contract you have ghosts starting to kill and an offifer trying to solve the mystery. This is a must read, fast paced book. I highly recommend this book.

It's an interesting premise. The buildup is great but I felt too much emphasis was laid to establishing it & not enough attention was paid to the climax which comes across as hurried & too easy in comparison. Given that it's a rather short book in terms of length, it'd have turned out better the climax been fleshed out better.

When mysterious deaths and people begin showing up in Thorn, there is one man who knows what is happening. The town broke the contract with the Blood family, and in order for order to be restored, a new contract must be struck, before everyone in town is killed off.

Great read! Absolutely loved it!

For two hundred years the Blood Contract has protected the sanctity of the Blood Lands on the border of the town of Thorne. But now, with more economic development in the works, the town aldermen have decided to violate the terms of the contract, and the Bloods, living and dead, aren’t happy.
The Blood Contract Trilogy by Ron Ripley is a chilling tale of what happens when greed overcomes prudence and the ghosts of the Bloods decide a lesson—a deadly lesson—must be taught. New Hampshire state trooper Jim Petrov, with the help of a living Blood, and the ghosts of past Bloods, must face a deadly enemy in order to save the town of Thorne from its own greed and stupidity.
A compelling cast of characters; even the ghosts have interesting personalities, and the tension starts on a high note and climbs into the stratosphere.
This is an unusual ghost story in which it’s hard sometimes to tell the good guys from the bad, but one that you will thoroughly enjoy reading.
I received a free copy of The Blood Contract in exchange for my unbiased review.

Finally

Benefiting for this trilogy to finally be out. Excellent read, tied up nicely at the end. I'm not much for zombies with is where it seemed like it was going but then turned. Do wish that they fairy story had been told in more detail. Thanks for keeping me up at night.
Can't wait for the next set of books.

Don't break the contract!

I loved these books! You don't want to mess with the Blood Family and you don't want to break a contract with them. I wasn't expecting the faery folk. Made it so much more intriguing.

Not your average ghost story

A surprising twist.... This is what happens when you mix a ghost story with a fairy tail. Never expected fairies, giants and trolls could be so vicious.

Quick read. Interesting realm of characters. I am typing enough words to fulfill the requirement for Amazon. I wish I could just rate with stars.

Mr. Ripley never disappoints

Like his other books, I was hooked from the first page. I didn't find this one as good as some of the others, but it's one of his earlier works. Sadly, editing is always a problem. I do recommend horror fans give this a try.
