Scotty Backhaus had the privilege of serving in the United States Air Force in 1995-2003. His main job during that span was a laboratory technician, working in hospitals, ERs, and fieldwork/training, with an emphasis of study in biochemistry and microbiology. After September 11, 2001, Scotty Backhaus was tasked with helping with the security forces in working with the officers and security police. It was there he became the unofficial chaplain for the officers in the time of war.
As a minister, Pastor Backhaus worked as an assistant to the pastor in Phoenix, Arizona for eleven years, pastored in Jackson, TN for six years and now is serving in the Green Bay / Appleton area for the last three years. He is a published author. He is one of the chaplains serving eleven departments in Outagamie County, WI. Pastor Backhaus is also continuing to write.
