2023 reread: Because I needed some joyful reading and have been working on rereading this trilogy when I can, I decided to reread this final book and it was still such a fun book! The ending makes me teary-eyed every time, I swear! What is it about weddings that make you feel all the emotions? I was giggly, I felt like I wanted to cry, I could barely breathe in anticipation—it was so beautiful! I would say this series is better for ages 16/17+ because of some marital comments/hints, but those parts could easily go over the heads of younger readers.

*blissfully happy sigh* This was an absolutely perfect ending to this trilogy. Janice Thompson creates the best characters that get in the most rib-tickling misunderstandings. Miss Janice writes laugh-out-loud wedding books that are way better than any ol’ Hallmark movie. Filled with humor, southern accents & lots of prayers, anything Janice Thompson writes is a must read for me. (There’s a salon called Do or Dye in this one, y’all. That’s just a taste of the wit in a Janice Thompson novel.) In “Every Bride Has Her Day”, I literally cried at the wedding & prayer. It was so sweet and very touching! Janice Thompson (and also published under Janice Hanna) is one of my top-5-favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what she writes next. :)

*4.25* Oh. My Stinkin. Word. That was adorable. It definitely had its moments, but I loved it! The faith moments were so good and impactful. I love things about weddings, so obviously I loved this trilogy! The romance was very JaniceThompsony. I just thought this was so adorable.

Katie Fisher and Brady James are finally engaged and eager to start planning their big day. But their friends at the bridal shop all want to plan something else for them. As does their families. Will Katie's own ideas get lost in the mix? Will she stand firm with her ideas and have the day she's always dreamed about, or will her family, Brady's family, and their friends spoil it for them?
I always know that when I see Janice Thompson's name on a book that I'm in for a sweet funny story. I was proved right once again. This is the third book in the Brides With Style series and they do need to be read in order.
Having followed Katie and Brady's love story of the past two books, I was thrilled to get to the book with their wedding. Of course knowing the cast of characters, their happily ever after wasn't going to be simple.
I loved the secondary characters, from Queenie and the WOPers to the girls at Cosmopolitan Bridal. They make for some delightful bits of conversation. Of course there are misunderstandings, but I love how they get worked out.
I'd love to see a story done on Jane, as she was the only one who hasn't yet had a happily ever after.
I look forward to Janice's next book.

Janice Thompson books....I always complain about them, but I can't stop reading them!
This one is nothing new. There are 2 (3 if you count Brady's mom) elderly romances. There's one single girl, who is miserable and hates her life, because she's single (but, no worries: see Step 7 in my review of "Every Bride Needs a Groom"). They mention old movies. The old ladies talk about old lady stuff.
The only thing new in the series is that Katie is planning her wedding. She acts like a child and doesn't even give a thought to anything but "HER big day." She does think about moving away and stuff, but beyond that, nothing. She's so superficial.
Don't get me started on the whole "Gone With The Wind" wedding theme, which is ridiculous, even for these books.
Oh, and the biggest crisis in the entire series? A broken hip.
I guess to sum it up, I keep reading them because as dumb as they are, these books do make me laugh. And, let's face it: sometimes, you just need a dose of Janice Thompson.
What a sweet, fun finale to the Brides With Style series! It really has been an enjoyable journey for Katie and Brady. Every Bride Has Her Day is filled with romantic moments between these two main characters, yet peppered throughout with the tongue in cheek, small town antics of Katie’s extended family and friends, and a good dose of tension as Katie hopes to be strong enough to stand up to wedding planning meddlers. I thought that this book was a very good balance of fun and romance.
The stories in this series are great choices to pick up when you need a dose of goodness and lightheartedness. There is always an inspirational thread running through the books in a gentle way. I have definitely enjoyed these stories.

Every Bride Has Her Day. A story that will make your sigh and laugh! Janice Thompson, the Queen of romantic comedy, does it again! I haven't found a book of hers that I didn't love.
This was a cute finish to the series. The beginning was a bit tough for me, but I pushed through 😅 it wasn’t anything spiritual—I just wanted to step in and help Katie!
The plot kept moving in a good way, and I really liked seeing how things turned out for the side characters I had grown to love in the previous two books—so many weddings in this story! 😳 There were still several innuendos and some joking between married people, but I found it less awkward/inappropriate than the previous book thankfully. For me, I’d still say this series should be 18+ though for that reason.
Personal and irrelevant BUT funny note: Kate is my height 5’2” and Brady is 6’4” (my husband is 6’). I couldn’t help but laugh when these two are standing or dancing and she laid her head on his shoulder or he put his arm around her waist. It’s a funny visual, folks, because with the height difference she can’t reach his should while standing and he has to bend down for her waist 😜 I can overlook that though! It just cracked me up.
The ending was super sweet!
I enjoyed these characters, and I may try this author again when I need a light read. I loved her characterization and she also had a lot of good clean fun in her writing 😊
I love most any read by Janice Thompson, they are always hilarious and full of zany and fun characters. This one is no exception! The storyline was interesting and kept me laughing throughout the read. A perfect read while my 8 year old daughter was having dental surgery. Loved this one!

Every Bride Has Her Day picks up where Every Girl Gets Confused left off, finishing Janice Thompson’s Brides with Style series. However, she must first overcome the enthusiastic contribution of wedding ideas from her colleagues at Cosmopolitan Bridal, as well as her small-town family. Overall, I enjoyed reading Every Bride Has Her Day. Ms. Thompson provides a worthwhile ending to the Brides with Style series, while wrapping up the many character storylines she developed throughout the novels. Personally, I found the first book of this series to be incredibly unique and entertaining. In comparison, Every Bride Has Her Day never quite reached that level of entertainment, as the sheer number of weddings and coupling off of characters started to weigh down the story. I thought Ms. Thompson’s Weddings by Bella series was much stronger from the beginning to end, while still focusing on the same set of characters throughout the set of novels. Regardless, I very much looking forward to seeing what fun and compelling series Ms. Thompson will create next!

I have so enjoyed getting to know all of the characters from this series since the first book and was excited to watch how the ending of their stories would unfold. Not to mention, that Janice Thompson is always such a fun author to pick up. I love her quirky storytelling and references to hollywood legends or country stars.
Unfortunately, I felt a little let down with this third novel. To make it short, the story didn't feel like it really had a plot. It might have worked for a novella length story, but as a novel, well, let's just say I had a hard time wanting to pick it back up.
The story still had some of the same fun humor that you find in many of Thompson's stories, and the characters were lovable. But there was just something about this one. So many of the characters got engaged or got married in the course of the book that it became a bit over-the-top and unbelievable. It seemed as if nearly every chapter involved something.
The book is still light-hearted and an easy read. But, I would have been perfectly content leaving Katie and Brady's story where the second book ended. This one just felt like an overly long epilogue.

Every Bride Has Her Day creates a delightful book about an engaged couple and the interruptions and interferences they encounter on the way to the altar. This is surprising because they work at a bridal shop and make others' wedding wishes come true. Of course, everyone has their ideas of what they ought to do, what they should wear, and the theme for the wedding. This funny, cute novel takes the reader along as Katie Fisher finds her true self and desires.

I have loved this series, and I thought this was a cute, fun end to the series. I love Janice Thompson's books for how fun and sweet they are, and this one was no different.
I did have a few more issues with this one. I felt like...nothing happened. As in, there was no real plot. Yes, I know Katie is getting married, but it seemed very lacking. I felt like a lot of the conversations were repeated, even Katie's inner monologue. They were just saying the same things over and over again, and nothing was really happening. Also, I know it's a romance, and they tend to be slightly unrealistic anyway, but the amount of engagements/weddings/etc. in this one seemed over-the-top and excessive. I mean, I could see why Jane was feeling a little bitter.
But in true Thompson fashion, the story was hilarious and quirky and sweet. It was still a fun read, and I'm glad we got to see the whole gang one last time, all together. I thought it was super cute, and I can't wait for more from Janice Thompson.

Finally, the wedding is in the works for Katie and Brady. And for several other couples, too! But what about the ideas of the big day? Everyone seems to have the opinion of what is best for the happy couple, but no one bothers to ask the bride. But every bride has to have her day, right?
The best of all the series, and most readable for me. The conflicts are realistic, the bickering is funny and the pressure is real. And the sweetness is real, too! And finally it is happening for me - I would like to go and visit Fairfield, the IT small city with all of its charm and troubles and the happy endings. I need some peach cobbler, oreo blizzard and lemonade with raspberries. And to meet some of the eternally young at heart seniors with all of their flair (they are so much more funny than the youngsters!).
First you must realize that the entire book is supposed to be silly, make you laugh, and sometimes downright ridiculous. That's the whole point, it's humor. Once you understand that then it's off to the races to see how many times you can't contain at least a small expression of finding something funny. Thompson has a great handle on creating just this type of story without coming off as annoying. In a typical story I would have felt like throwing something at Katie but after some thought, I'm fairly sure I knew someone just like her in my past. I would have liked a bit more suspense . The first two books I kept wondering how and when things would take place . I had to wait over a year to read this final book in the series . For the most part , everything fell into place , after Katie learned to speak up about what she and Brady wanted for their wedding day .
Felt this was the cheesiest of the three books. Yes you want to see everyone happy but honestly I felt the author forced it. having everyone getting married left and right made the book feel rushed and tiresome instead of cute. Wish she had just spread the series out into a forth book. That would have been more fun, but oh well.
A colorful and chaotic conclusion to Brides with Style trilogy. Full of love, crazy characters and family. It felt like it took the long route to the fairy tale ending but it finally reached it.
I read this book through a bitter lens with my past experience planning my own wedding. I felt like I mirrored a few aspects of this bride’s journey because as soon as I was engaged, my mother-in-law called the large historic Driskill hotel in Austin for their availability when I wanted a small wedding in my hometown of North Houston. The difference between the experiences is in this fiction story the mother-in-law willingly extends a sincere apology and steps back; in mine my husband and I ended up getting married at the Driskill. My mother-in-law didn’t stop there either as she completely took every last detail I envisioned and did the opposite, making fun of all my DIY projects that I had wanted to incorporate. If only I was as strong as every bride in this book and took the reins back, but it’s a sensitive line crossing new family who already isn’t thrilled their oldest son is leaving home. That being said, I really had to step back and look at the bigger picture of this story and release my negative feelings about this topic.
First off, I loved the constant encouragement from everyone to each other. I’ve had friends get married in the three years since I got married and they always look to me for advice and some of these sentiments are perfectly constructed for me to convey to the next bride that comes to me freaking out about how stressful the planning process is. The positive sentiments were directed to young single women, widowed older women, new moms, newly engaged, and newly married groups. No matter what your status is while reading this story, you will find someone who shares in your status and get a positive note of encouragement out of it.
Secondly, I loved the small town conflict. It brought both a humorous edge and a frenzied feel as it continued to grow as the wedding approached. The WOP-pers reminded me of my grandparents and their prayer warrior groups that can be caught saying the darnest things. I loved the bride’s descriptions of her anticipation on her wedding day. It wasn’t that nothing mattered as long as she married her groom, but was still caught freaking out about if the ladies put the flowers in the mason jars, in the picnic baskets correctly.
I would recommend this to brides of course, but also to single ladies that could use all the advice given in this story as their journeys unfold. I rated this story four out of five stars because in my past experiences mother-in-law’s don’t back down that easy, your bridesmaids tell you what they want for you till the day of, and things don’t always work out as perfect as they advertise, so it was a little too fairytale for me with all the struggles of peer pressure ending a few chapters in.
In Every Bride Has Her Day, Katie and Brady are headed toward their wedding day ... but everyone in Katie's life seems to know what that day should look like, and Katie's having a hard time standing up for herself. At first, I feared the theme of the book would be Katie letting everyone walk all over her while she tried to plan her big day (I recently read a book like this, and it drove me crazy); fortunately, that was not the case. Katie rather quickly--and with the help of Brady and her grandmother Queenie--stood up for herself and told everyone what she expected for her wedding. That's not to say it was smooth sailing to the altar, but the focus quickly moved from everyone trying to plan Katie's wedding to something else: romance.
In the first two books in this series (which you really should read before reading Every Bride Has Her Day), Thompson set up several secondary romances, and in this book, every single one (plus some others) took several steps forward. I especially loved seeing where love took Katie's aunt Alva, and it was nice to watch Brady's mother Nadia get another chance at love.
While I enjoyed most of the romances, this does lead to the one thing I didn't like about the book: everyone (and I do mean everyone) either got their happily ever after or was headed well on their way to one. I know, I know: romance novels aren't meant to be realistic, and we always want them to end happily. But much is made of Jane, a bridal shop employee who is really struggling with the fact that everyone else is either married, engaged, or in a relationship headed toward marriage. Through her characters, Thompson gives some really good advice to women like me who are still waiting for that happily ever after. Jane takes this advice to heart and comes to terms with her singleness. And then ... almost immediately after she lets go of her bitterness about being single, she meets a man. Maybe it's the cynical singleton in me, but I would have appreciated her story much more if a man hadn't dropped into her lap nearly immediately after she realized it was OK to be single.
Aside from that one thing, though, I loved Every Bride Has Her Day. It's full of both humor (usually having to do with Katie's dad) and heartwarming moments that made me tear up. This whole series has been great, and Every Bride Has Her Day is a wonderful way to wrap it up. 4 stars.

I have thoroughly enjoyed following Katie Sue Fisher’s story through the “Brides with Style” series. There is a small-town wholesomeness to her character that I found really refreshing. Couple that with engaging writing, a sweet romance, and lively - sometimes quirky - characters, and you've got a fun read that really hit the spot. I especially loved that the romance wasn’t the source of the conflict. Brady and Katie were so considerate of each other and uncomplicated – even if planning their wedding wasn’t!
Katie has been dreaming about her wedding for as long as she can remember. She’s already won her dream dress, she’s just become engaged to her dream groom, and now she can finally plan her dream wedding... If only she could get a word in edgeways. Preferably, “No.”
Everyone is so eager to help. Brody’s mother, Nadia, has the perfect Dallas reception venue in mind, Twiggy has set up a Pinterest account full of Texan cowboy/horse wedding themes, and the Fairfield WOP-pers (Women of Prayer) have the whole thing organised from the church through to the cake – because they know how weddings are done in Fairfield. Even if Katie could get a word in edgeways, how can she politely say ‘no’ to all these ideas and still keep the peace? And it’s not only Katie who’s having this dilemma. Her sister-in-law-to-be, Crystal, and Cosmopolitan Bridal client, Bridget Pennington, are also at odds with their friends and family over their big day, struggling to hold on to the reins. But if they can do it, then so can Katie.
And in amongst all of this, life goes on. Lori-Lou has her fourth baby, amid a flurry of hormones; there are more proposals, an elopement, and a surprise wedding; and poor Aunt Alva still can’t work out that crazy radio show Katie calls ‘Bluetooth’! And then, the unthinkable happens, just two weeks before Katie’s wedding: The WOP-pers have a falling out that divides the town in half – literally! And you’ll never guess what started it off...
Life, love, and laughter. This book has it all - although I definitely recommend reading the other two books in the series first.

This was the third book in the series, which follows Katie and Brady from their engagement to their wedding. As a standalone, it's an enjoyable book. Having just read the two previous books in the series, however, I found it to be a little tedious. Besides the main characters, practically every other single person through the whole series finds their true love. I was actually rooting for one of the single characters to NOT meet anyone, and that's not like me.
Plot: Katie and Brady have just become engaged. Thanks to the contest she won in the first book, Katie already has her dream dress. She just needs to plan her ideal wedding. Her family and friends, trying to be helpful, all have their own suggestions. Things quickly get out of Katie's control and she wonders if her big day will her dream wedding or a disaster.
Characters: There are plenty of quirky characters in this story! From the WOP-pers (Women of Prayer) group in Katie's hometown and her Aunt Alva to the ladies of the bridal shop, there are few serious moments in the story. I really like Katie and Brady. Their relationship was well written in this book. Many of the other characters seem to run together and don't have unique personalities. I had trouble trying to keep track of the WOP-pers as they all seemed to be the same character.
What I Liked: The author has a great writing voice. I'm not usually a fan of the first-person perspective, so it takes a great writer to make me not notice that in a book. I enjoyed how each book had quotes at the beginning of the chapter. This one included quotes from Audrey Hepburn, who is one of my favorite actresses. I loved the descriptions of the dresses and the fun details of the wedding.
Recommendation: While this wasn't my ideal book, those who enjoy lighthearted fiction and wedding planning will enjoy this story. If you're reading the whole series, I suggest spreading them out a little bit. If I hadn't just read the previous two, I’m sure I would have enjoyed it more. I really liked the beginning of the series and I plan to give the author another chance and read more of her books.

In book three of the Brides with Style series, Katie is finally engaged and ready to start her own wedding planning. But she encounters what so many brides face….that everyone she knows has their own opinion and idea about how her wedding should go. Her future mother-in-law reserves a wedding location to fit one theme, while her co-workers plan a different type of wedding, and the ladies in her hometown are FULL of ideas to do the wedding the same way all the other weddings are done in Fairfield. While Katie helps another bride struggling with the same expectations, she comes to see that “when the bride’s happy- when the wedding plans are within the scope of the dream-then others around her will sense her happiness and be happy too….when the bride has her day, everyone who loves her can share in the fun” (location 3158).
This is a very entertaining book. The bickering of the ladies trying to be helpful is funny and makes you thankful they didn’t have a voice in your own wedding planning. HA I found myself rooting for Katie….”You can do it, Katie. Tell them what you want.” There are so many lovable characters in this series. It was fun to visit with them all again and see how their own lives are progressing.
Love is in the air! It’s blossoming all over in this book with multiple weddings and engagements and the promise of great things to come. It was really fun seeing Alva, who is in her 80s, find love. Alva’s character is so fun…she often confuses people using speaker phones with a radio program and has lots of lively things to say. It was very satisfying seeing her and Eduardo progress in their relationship.
This was a fun romp through the stages of wedding planning and a fitting end to the series. It’s a lighthearted read that will make you laugh and groan. Will Katie be able to have her dream wedding or will she try to compromise her vision to please her family and friends?
I was so excited to read this story. It picks up where the previous book took off so I would definitely recommend reading the other two books first to get the full effect. The book could possibly be read without the others but it will make so much more sense to have read the others.
Ever since Katie wrote that essay and won the free wedding dress, her life has been changed for the better. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Katie in this story. The author is one of my favorites for light-hearted contemporary romance. I could feel the tension and unease that Katie felt when she felt like everyone was trying to tell her what her wedding should be like. I could feel the frustration and anxiety building in Katie and could totally relate to her as the main character. I loved the other love stories that were interwoven and nicely tied off because I’ve gotten to know these characters and become invested in their happiness.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs a light, summer romance.

I have enjoyed reading the first two books in the Brides with Style series by Janice Thompson. I enjoyed seeing Katie struggle as she tried to figure out if she wanted to marry Casey or Brady. With the conclusion to the series in Every Bride Has Her Day, Thompson has created a touching feel good story that fans of contemporary romance will enjoy.
The story interacts with Katie and Brady as they finalize their plans for their wedding. The story begins right after the proposal from the second book and ends after their actual wedding. While the story is predictable, the familiar characters brought a good feeling to me as the reader. I enjoyed getting lost in Dallas and Fairfield with the numerous characters who have populated all three stories.
Thompson does a good job at using simple, easy to follow language to invite me into the story. I saw the bridal shop, the different churches, and the numerous weddings that took place without having to stretch my imagination at all. Thompson really shines when describing a wedding. I never once doubted her terminology for the wedding dress material.
While Thompson does a good job at bringing back into the fold of the story from the first chapter of Every Bride Has Her Day, I felt like the story was a little too happy for me. There was a little conflict at the beginning of the story, but then it got solved, and the story was rainbows and unicorns for the rest of the book. Too much happiness for me. But that is just my humble opinion.
Overall, fans of the first two books by Janice Thompson will be happy to return and watch Katie reach her happily ever after. Thompson reminded me that a wedding is about the people who come and see you, not on how much money someone spends on the event. Glad I didn't have an expensive wedding, but I have a great marriage, which is what matters in the end.

It seems like love is in the air big time — everyone seems to be starting a new relationship or getting engaged or married — in Janice Thompson’s “Every Bride Has Her Day.” The story picks up immediately after “Every Girl Gets Confused” with the engagement of Katie Fisher and Brady James.
The problem is, though, Katie can’t enjoy her upcoming nuptial bliss because everyone has an idea for how her wedding should be. No one seems to care what HER ideas are for HER wedding. Katie must quickly learn how to rein in everyone and get her wedding back on track. And when a major misunderstanding literally rips her small hometown in two, her perfect day starts to look like it won’t be so perfect at all.
“Every Bride Has Her Day” is such a lovely story, a tale wrapped up in the comforts of home and love. But it’s also filled with many laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing moments, especially when adorable Aunt Alva comes into play.
Thompson fills her story with several lessons though — like learning that home truly is where the heart is, and the importance of feeling at home; having a happily-ever-attitude, even when things seems difficult; and that God always has a plan for us.
You will fall in love with both Katie and pro-basketball player Brady, as well as the Dallas bridal shop employees who work with Katie and Brady, and all of the family members, especially grandmother Queenie and the absolutely adorable Aunt Alva!
As an added bonus, this sweet story is filled with chapter titles taken from Martina McBride songs, and quotes by Audrey Hepburn — both whom inspire wedding gowns designed by Brady’s mom, Nadia.
