The Ninth Inning series presents Memphis Angels’ catcher, Blake Foster.

Blake Foster has a love/hate relationship with the game he plays for a living. On good days, he smiles and enjoys baseball. During the rest of the time, he’s battling his demons and looking out for his mother. He has a hard time keeping ahold of the good things in life no matter how badly he wants them.

Sofia Gardner might come from a rich family, but she has worked for the opportunity for a position on the staff for the Memphis Angels. However, when she meets Blake, she realizes there’s more to him than his constant grumpy expressions. She feels he needs a friend and in her good-natured way, she reaches out to him, only to find the demons he’s battling are much worse than she thought.

When the bases are loaded and it all comes down to the catch at home plate, can they get their out or lose it all when it matters most?

Blakey.. what can I say about you? This book touched my heart today really.. I really like a book when I can relate to the characters.. I can relate to Blake in a lot of ways, but the easiest one is DEMONS.. Blake didn't have an easy childhood and up to this date we get to see him struggle with opening up and having somehow a normal life (yup sounds a lot like me) then we get Sofia.. what can I say about this beautiful, strong and loving woman that made me fall in love with her? She is just what Blake needs in his life even if he doesn't think he does! This story for me is about love, compassion, opening up, moving on and finding that one person that makes you believe that life does have a beautiful way to look at!

Even though this is the second book in the series...I LOVED IT!! I loved how Sofia broke down Blakes walls. Blake definitely has/ had a reason for the the way that he was. But watching the love story unfold between these two was so swoon-worthy.

Strong Couple. Great HEA!
I enjoyed this couple. There was a heavy issue fighting against their success as a couple. However, they managed to work through it and succeed.

Sofia and Blake are both trying to escape their father’s legacy. Sofia has a little easier time making it on her own. She’s drawn in by Blake’s hazel eyes and quickly finds it difficult to get him off her mind. She senses his need for a friend, someone who will listen as he talks.

Unfortunately Blake will go through both emotional and physical pain before Sofia is able to bring him around to trusting her. Their love for each other helps find a happily ever after solution for all involved.

The story was slow to grab me and pull me into it. However, by the halfway point I was loving Blake and Sofia. I think I like them better than I liked Felix and Abby from the first book in The Ninth Inning series. Thier story seemed to have more substance to it and therefore grabbed me more. Like Felix and Abby, Blake and Sofia have a playful nature to their conversations with each other complete with some sarcasm and sexual innuendo.

By the end I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. You could tell that Blake and Sofia were good in their relationship. However there was still another 5-10% of the book left to read. I love a story where the woman is in danger and the man comes to her rescue!

While this is a continuation of a series, this book can be read as a standalone book. But why would you want to miss out on the love stories of hot baseball players?

Thank you Lindsay for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

You get to see a little bit of Blake and Sofia in Felix's book. I was interested to see if I was going to like Blake. Sometimes for me the second book in the series tend to fall flat. This has been across the board on almost all books and series but I actually like this book better than Felix. Don't get me wrong, Felix was a good book but I really like Blake.

Blake has a lot of things going on in his personal life and really deals pretty well but not really. You are going to have to read the book to see what that means. He is one of the only Memphis Angels that remained after a scandal and should technically be the leader of the team. He isn't but Hector kind of latches onto him and tries to make him more personable. Sofia works for the team as a massage therapist and is a strong girl. She tries to be Blake's friend and does put up with a lot of crap from him. I like that she is pretty well adjusted and does push Blake past his comfort zone. There is a lot of drama in this book.

I can't wait to see what Hector's book is like. He is pretty funny and I like him a lot.

I am giving this book 4.4 stars out of 5.

Baseball Romance

This is the second book in the series. You can't go wrong with baseball and love. However I would love to have had a better ending. It's a romance book we know the two will fall in love but will they get married. Will they define their relationship. Hopefully this is a series with a conclusion book. I'll read the next one with the hopes of such
