Interesting story line but awful pictures. I enjoyed reading this book. The writing was pretty good and flowed decently. It is definitely a good book to read to kids who love Scooby. Sadly, the pictures were awful though. Some pages it was like the gang was badly photoshopped onto a background for the picture. Other places the pictures barely even looked like the gang, and still others the pictures were just awkward or badly placed. The pictures definitely took away from the story for me as this is a picture book and the pictures are meant to help tell the story for readers but I still think it’s worth a read as the story was interesting for that of a picture book.

This was a really solid Scooby-Doo book. It captures the vibe and flow of the cast and mystery so well. Notably, the dialogue is especially on point, in some scooby books it can be a bit off but this one nails the gang's silly catchphrases perfectly. I also quite liked the art in here, very nice to look at.

And yes I am still committed to my bit about reading scooby-doo books.

Their van breaks down at night and they stop by a cafe where the customers are being scared away by real ghosts (as opposed to the actors). The two employees are the only ones the two managers have left. At the end, it turns out the two emplyees are the ones pretending to be the ghosts. They were trying to find the pirate's treasure.

I really don't like these formula books but I know it will be appealing to kids that are Scooby-Doo fans. Mystery picture book with ghosts and pirates with the gang performing in a play for grades PK-3.
