The Silverleaf Chronicles follows the life of Silverleaf, a dragonmaster who was born into a world without dragons and doomed to die as a madman alone in the wilderness until a young woman enters his life, and a mysterious army marches across the land destroying all in its path. Season Two of The Dragon Masters, The Elwyn Chronicles, is also available. This box set contains the entire first season of The Dragon Masters, Episode 1: The Wanderer Episode 2: Awakening Episode 3: The Hunters Episode 4: Traps Episode 5: Drac’nor Episode 6: Hope
The beginning was promising, but became boring, mundane and repettitve. All battles were easily won with no injuries to the "good guys." The romance was very slow building and completely unrealistic in that it was too squeaky clean. No desire, no hand holding, no kissing even! Ten years after they wed no mention of children?
Yes not what I thought it was going to be.
Setting aside the romace (which there was very little of) the plot was just boring. It had so much potential, but just fell flat.
There was no real antagonist nor any reason why the "bad guys" were invading and destroying. No explanation as to what or who the "fiends" and "robed" men are.
Lika another reviewer had said - "a story painted with wide strokes." Not enough details or backround. The world building was also vague and the characters flat.
This version contains book #'s 0-6 and there is another round of books after this, which I will not be reading.
I love this book!! I was hooked when I read The Storymaster in The Dragon Chronicles. I wanted to know more about this world of Dragon masters and Dragons. Dragons have been extinct for a long time because of a war and Dragon masters went mad without their dragons. After the extinction it seemed there is no cure for the Dragon masters born afterwards. They were destined to doom. But the Storymasters have kept the legend of the dragons and a secret passed down for one Dragon master who will not succumb to the madness. And the Big Secret!!! I read this in the six episodes released along the previous months. I was like I couldn't wait to know what was going to happen. And those episodes kept me content. The last episode or the end just blowed my mind away. I wouldn't have guessed it! I was waiting form episode zero to know about it. I don't know what I was expecting but not that lol! Loved it!!! I'm going to miss Silverleaf and Kaylissa very much! I loved his mad man phase, I adore Silverleaf. A must read book! I'm excited for the second season! Got an arc in exchange of an honest review.
This book follows Silverleaf, a dragon master born into a world where dragons have gone extinct and therefore destined to go mad as he meets a young woman and a mysterious army that destroys everywhere they come across. This book had some really interesting concepts but I felt like it didn't explore any of them to the extent that I would have liked. Silverleaf is a fine main character and I liked his friendship with the female main character, Kaylissa, though I don't think it needed to have a romance between them. I also didn't really like the way the book as paced though I understand why that choice might have been made by the author. Ultimately, I just found this to be a very average book and one that I will probably forget about in a few months.
An extremely well written book with a very enjoyable storyline. Our hero struggles through the trials of madness that have overcome dragon masters in the past. With help from a wolf pack he conquers this trial. He is able to use this experience to aid other dragon masters. With a dedicated group of dragon masters he can begin to eliminate the evil fiends from this world.
If you like dragons and like people who can conquer the challenges they face, this story is a collection of adventure for you. You can also see the growing love between the main protagonists.
67%, 2.5 stars but rounded up because I’m pretty sure the reason I didn’t like it that much was just because it wasn’t my wheelhouse. It’s got an interesting premise and I really wanted to keep reading. It just felt very repetitive. Felt like the same scene was repeated of epic battle, magic powers released, protagonist faints from power overuse, short intermission with a little bit of plot building, epic battle, etc, etc. And normally I’d bask in the epic battles! It just seemed like the entire interlude was more for setting up the next showcase of power than revealing the plot
Good book, well written, easy to read, interesting plot, good characters.
Nice new take on a dragon rider type story. What happens to the riders if the dragons have been extinct for centuries? They descend into madness and death. Can anything save them?
Very easy read, this book doesn't focus over much on details, and it happy to skip chunks of time when necessary. Hardly any romance. Barely any gore. But an engaging narrative, innovative plot, and almost stand alone story.
The civilization in this story is strangely diverse and the war intense, not in gory detail but in persistence. Dragons can be either savior or destroyer depending on which angle the story is written from. I appreciate this story's point of view and highly recommend it!
The tale starts off really well with mystery and intrigue but is ultimately disappointing, as the story tells rather than shows. I felt I was a spectator looking in on this world, rather than being submerged in it.
A fascinating world creates the backdrop for this elegant story of dragons and the mysterious 5th Council. Told from Silverleaf's point of view it chronicles his search for himself, family and purpose and leads to interesting and exciting adventures.
Wow, I loved this book. The characters, the plot, and the book was well written. The story builds and has many twists. I look forward to reading book 2.
I really enjoyed reading The Silverleaf Chronicles and the characters were likeable and interesting. So much history and I loved the job of the Storyteller passing on the wisdom of those who had come before. I did guess the ending but it was still a great story that offered hope. Plenty of action and adventure with just a hint of romance and this made it hard to put down.
This gripping story of dragons is going to have you on the edge of your seat. The book is about a war and almost the enstingtion of dragons. Love the ending of the book because the dragons save the dragon race. I am looking forward to reading the next book. Because I want to find out what happends with the baby Dragons.
I originally read the Silverleaf Chronicles as the serial story. I love having the whole collection in one spot.
The story of an elf who learns who he is. Protecting his people along the way. And dragons. There may be a love story, but you have to read it to find out :D
This book is well written and puts me in mind of the many great epic fantasy writers I've enjoyed over the years! My only complaint was that it wasn't longer. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Enjoyed this book. Excellent character development. Great storyline. Very enjoyable. Would recommend it to all fantasy readers. I really liked the way it was structured.
This was a very entertaining read. This story was much better then the book summary! It started a little slow, but shortly after the main characters meet in a tavern the action accelerated. I read it very quickly after that point. I purchased Book 2 shortly after finishing this book. I wanted to know how the story would continue. I would definitely recommend this series! Just an enjoyable time reading about the characters!
