Written with gentle humour and a beautiful interpretation of landscape, this adventure story about Jack and his family is reminiscent of endless summers, azure seas and sandy white beaches. Jack, his dad Vince, sister Tanya, and mum Carla, escape to Seahorse Bay whenever they can. Idyllic days are spent exploring the waters of the bay, diving, fishing and cooking up feasts on the beach - and, for Jack, daydreaming of long-gone shipwrecks and forgotten treasure. Jack cannot believe his luck when he comes across a sunken boat not far off the coast. When he shows his father, they discover it is in pristine condition and decide to take on the challenge of salvaging it. But what is the story behind this mysterious boat? How long has it been in the bay? How did it get there? And who is the man on the cliff with the binoculars? When the boat is finally raised, the adventure begins…

A bit of a slow start to the story, but I think perfect for teens and adults! Quick and easy read with a wonderful storyline! It took a twist I didn’t expect, but as it was a short story nothing was too dragged out and it was perfect to read on the beach! If you’re looking for something short and interesting I’d recommend this book :)

'Inside the bay, it was mostly sand on the bottom, wrinkled like the roof of your mouth, and every now and then whiting darted like arrows in the swathes of seagrass. '

Jack has a lovely caring oversight of his younger and adventurous sister as they snorkel and dive of the coast.
Beautiful descriptive passages of the ocean, it's terrain and critters, and boy curiosity - charmed me even tho I have no desire to go diving!
My first #blak authored novel after hearing Dr Anita Heiss at @blakbright16 festival launch.

Short tale about the love and importance of family. Lots of adventure, a bit of crime, mystery and the enjoyment of fishing and being in the water.
