One last chance
Room 59 agent Alex Tempest has a a degenerative illness that may end his career as a fi eld operative. But fi rst he accepts one fi nal mission. And…it's personal. A research facility in China has built the ultimate biological weapon. Alex's infi ltrate and destroy. His wife works at the biotech company's stateside lab, and Alex fears danger is poised to hit home. But when Alex is captured, his personal and professional worlds collide in a last, desperate gamble to stop ruthless masterminds from unleashing virulent, unstoppable death.
Cliff Ryder is another new author for me I like the story Alex Tempest is a spy but more than that he is an agent a fixer for a secret organization called Room 59 his wife Brin is a scientist working on cures for deadly diseases. Alex has a secret he has been diagnosed with MS and he takes on a job without telling his bosses.... when he finds out the job is linked to his wife and the company he works for Alex will do anything to save her and his family including this job that just might be his last as the disease wears away at his body making him shaky and weak he knows he can no longer be an agent for Room 59, but can he get out with his life and more importantly can he save his wife and daughter???
Unfortunately, I missed the Room 59 series when it was originally published and I am scouring the used bookstores to pick the entire run up. Nothing particularly revolutionary about the stories. Well done action packed shoot'em ups. Just what you would expect from Gold Eagle Books. IMHO, if you liked any of the other offerings from Gold Eagle back in the day, I think you'll like Out of Time (#2 in the Room 59 series.) Good Stuff Maynard!
