The One Less Traveled #1

The Cuckold Path

Rate this book
On the surface, Nick has it all: a beautiful wife and family, and a great job. His life is one of clear skies, calm waters, and smooth sailing.

Just over the horizon, however, a wave is building that threatens to change his entire life. A harmless trip to a swingers club, an attempt to try something different, leads them to Collin. The handsome, rich black man immediately enthralls Nicole, his gorgeous Latin wife, and the feeling is mutual.

What follows is an exciting, gut-wrenching ride for everyone—especially Nick, who has to come to terms with his wife’s infatuation for a man who desires her. Nick is faced with a choice: remove Collin from their lives and risk his wife’s happiness, or allow Collin to remain in their lives, and risk his marriage.

This is the story I want. Something powerful about explicitly and intentionally opening a marriage for a wife's boyfriend. Can't wait to see where this one goes.

This novella and its sequels are one of the most erotic cuckold stories I've come across. Originally published on the Literotica web site, the story of Nick and Nicole opening up their marriage to include the handsome, athletic black man Collin unfolds in vibrant, believable detail. Wittol captures the rollercoaster of angst and excitement as Nick comes to understand Nicole's need for another man and his own unexpected excitement at becoming Nicole's cuckold. What's particularly enjoyable about this story is that Nick, Nicole and Collin are all strong characters--there are no stereotype wimps, sluts or arrogant bulls. The strength of the characters brings a sense of reality to the story as Nick and Nicole wrestle with incorporating Nicole's blossoming romance with Collin into their roles as partners and parents.

The only downside to this first volume in the series is an all-too-frequent lack of attention in editing. There are numerous example of missing words, lack of continuity, misworded sentences, ridiculous punctuation and more. It doesn't kill the story, but it does interrupt the flow and aggravate the careful reader. Part of the publication process is taking care of such problems... especially when charging a premium $3.99 instead of the more customary $2.99 for a story of this length. But as annoying as such errors are, don't let them stop you from enjoying this first volume of an excellent story.

I really love this first book in this series! I love how you are seeing it from the cuckold's point of view and the way the author describes what is happening to all three is spellbinding!

I first read this book as part of a 5 Book anthology in 2017 and reviewed all 9 books in early 2018. I’m reading it again because for me it has the best character development in the hotwife/cuckold genres, with excellent communication between the couple.

This book is the opening to the lengthy story (about 1,000 pages). It’s a story of a couple exploring their sexuality. It’s hot and there is a solid, respectful and competitive relationship between the husband and the boyfriend.

The couple clearly discuss some issues in their sex life, agree to look for a boyfriend and begin developing the boyfriend relationship in this book. It ends at a point of angst for husband Nick. I recommend you read the two anthologies - books 1-5 and 6-8. I’m pretty sure you’ll want to read the entire story.

5 Shooting Stars ☄️

Note #1: there is no cheating or humiliation in this book, although there is some teasing and definitely friendly competition.

Note #2: there is a prologue to this book. I suggest you not read it. For me it was a spoiler.

See my review of the anthology.

So you have a couple, she wants to experience other men and her husband is totally into it, until he meets a guy. I started feeling sorry for him, before anything really started between her and this other guy. She was totally into this new guy and her husband was just sort of like as long as I get to watch. It's where's the end of the book I won't ruin anything, but you could tell this guy was trying to rethink things. Well written, and I'm hoping to read the next book in the series.
