After ten books into this series, a dull pattern has emerged where all the good guys look superhuman with their huge, muscular bodies and giant hands, and all the heroine-type ladies are absolute knockouts with big boobs and long, beautiful hair. And US Army Major John Chase is beyond superhuman, as he can be attacked by untold numbers of Russians and infected females, always managing to brutally kill them all (then wipe his bloody knife off on their horribly mangled dead bodies), as he repeatedly ensures he lives to see another day, yet one of the most highly trained and disciplined fighting men ever seen in the history of this world, US Navy SEALs, loses half their squad to a few infected females, which undoubtably, Major Chase would have surely waded through with relative ease. It's just getting to be old and tiresome. I realize Major Chase must survive everything he encounters for this story to continue, but the absurdities of him surviving every encounter that kills most every other man has surpassed believability many times over. And the ridiculousness with the infected Katie Chase has just about shut me down with this series. Major Chase's love is so powerful for his beloved wife, he actually gives her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation? Really? Eh... But I am committed regardless, even though I find myself skipping over much of what has been written so the absurdities do not cause me to close it down for good. It IS an interesting story for sure. From this point forward, I have decided I will keep my opinions to myself, as there are so many readers who are thoroughly enjoying this, and for those of you who choose to ignore these things I point out, I will respect your views and no longer say anything degrading about this remarkable series. I'll from here forward just rate with stars. Thank you, Mr. Patton, for all your incredible efforts in writing this. Despite everything I have said, it remains enjoyable reading.
