Black Diamond #4

Art of Deception

Rate this book
Ray Parker is the Sun God. He is accustomed to doing things his way, in life and in love. Ray controls his own destiny and is determined that no woman will ever conquer his heart or change his lifestyle. As he deals with threats to his life and the lives of his brothers, he must be at the top of his game. Therefore, beautiful brown eyes, long shapely legs and a body made for fantasies can't distract him; but a threat from the past leaves him no choice but to step in and protect the woman who, from the beginning has taken his breath away and unsettled his very foundation.

Isabelle Martin is graceful, classy, cultured and totally enamored with six feet five inches of muscled flesh in the form of Ray Parker. However, she knows that it's not going to be an easy task to win his affections, since Ray is accustomed to having women worshiping at his feet. Yet, while Isabelle is strategically planning to steal the heart of a god, others are plotting against her and her world is shaken as she learns that her life has not been, as she believed.

Art of the Deception is the final book in The Black Diamond Series. Identities are exposed, buried secrets come to life and relationships are tested. Life is not as it seems and deceptions abound until truth is revealed.

I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

APB Perspective Review:

A good book series will make you pick up each book because you care what happens to characters the books are about. I care about all of the people in this series and I am happy The Sun God found his Moon. In this book we were introduced to more family members and we got to know even more about The Black Diamond men. The additional information made the storyline even more,is that the author took so much time with the details in her story , that she lost the element of surprise. My favorite person in this series has been Trent since the moment he was introduced, and I believe he's the reason I kept reading this series. One of the cute things I missed about Trent in this book was when Diamond saw him she would say " Tent, Tent , Tent !" I really missed reading that. When you write books that include ensemble characters it's hard to keep them interesting and to keep the reader engaged , even though I found myself less interested in some parts, I never put the book down because I became invested and I wanted to see what would happen next. This is a good ending to The Diamond seires and a good beginning to Trent's story, who I believe is the real star of the story.

Really enjoyed this series. If I could, I would give it 10 stars. This book had a little bit of everything: romance, comedy, suspense, sorrow and hot love scenes. And of course, Ray Parker, The Sun God. Ray and Isabelle were perfect for each other. This book tied up all the loose ends and gave us an insight on the other characters. Looking forward to more from D. Camille.

Ray Parker the Sun God is taking center stage and unbeknownst to him Isabella Martin is his Moon Goddess and the Sun God is not prepared for the love take down.

Dr. Isabelle Martin is a leader in the Art World, she is smart funny, her two best friends are Jordan and Sean. Sean she has secretly loved him most of her life but once she sees Sean with Lily, she concedes that Sean is happy and she really likes Lily a lot. Isabelle is talking with Jordan and Sean and in walks in the most incredible man she has ever seen and his eyes she definitely want to get lost in. Once they are introduced, Isabelle quickly surmises that Ray is way out of her league and she will make sure to stay out of his way or at least try to.

Ray "Sun God" Parker, loves his family, friends, fighting crime and the ladies, his life is complete or so he thinks. Ray is not interested in getting married or having children so why when he first sees Dr. Isabelle Martin for the first time in his life, he is left speechless and the only thing he could do is stare at her. Once Ray snaps out of his the spell that Isabelle has cast on him, he determines right then and there to stay away from her, she has wife and mother written all over her which he is avoiding at all costs.

Isabelle is tired of being the wall flower, she is tired of living in her shell and just existing through life. She is not living and her life is passing her by, so she Isabelle comes up with a daring plan to get her out of her fear and be launched into being the woman she desperately wants to be, she has concocted a scheme to get the ball rolling and she is going to enlist none other than the Sun God himself Ray Parker.

Ray Parker is up for any challenge, he is happy but also intrigued as to why Isabelle has chosen him to help her. He will help her but what Isabelle doesn't realize is that the Sun God is not going to share her with any other man, she is going to belong to him. But unbeknownst to Ray, Isabelle has determined that he is going to be her Sun God and she is going to be his Goddess. She doesn't realize that when it comes to her all bets are off including killing anybody who tries to harm his woman.

Isabelle finds herself threatened in the present and her past trying to come back to haunt. The Sun God takes no prisoners and all will be eliminated when it comes to his Goddess. But for all of this Ray is still hesitant about making Isabelle his own permanently until she takes that decision out of his hands and he is devastated.

Jordan, Sean and Ray's deadly past has come back to haunt them. Now the stakes are higher because their families have been increased so the stakes are higher, the threat that should have been eliminated has reared his ugly head and its high time, to put all of their enemies down at least the ones they know off hand. But when their perfectly laid plans go awry while facing off against their enemy, everything that they have know will now be tested and a person from their past comes back into the picture.

I love Ray and Isabelle's story, they were perfect for each other. Ray her protector and Isabelle his balm. This series was amazing and I realize that author D. Camille has down a spin off called "The Uncut Series" which I am definitely looking forward to reading. Their is the next book called, "Goddess Getaway: A Black Diamond/Uncut Series Annex" which is the bridge before starting the Uncut series, so I am going to be reading that before starting the spin off.

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao Bellas!

GREAT SERIES....LOVED IT

D. Camille
I've read a lot of books, several series as well and I must say that your Black Diamond Series is by far one of the best I have read.
I love the way you depicted each character from Jordan and Sage, Sean and Lily and Omg Ray and Isabelle...each one if their stories drew you in and made you love every aspect of them individually and as a couple...you made me want to be them...Thank you for not having Trent hurt or killed he was my favorite because if his past and the pain he was able to overcome once finding his family, the bond you had the brothers have is something we all should strive for within our families....
Last but not least, the way you told of the love each couple had for one another is the best portrayal of love I read thus far....THAT IS WHAT BLACK LOVE IS ABOUT ...sad to say some have lost it along the way.....what a MASTERPIECE

Let The Sun Shine!!!

OOOH My God!!!!Every man needs to get some kind of Sun God training. This series has gone.to my all time best series it has knocked a few out the box.I am voting Day and Isabelle best in the series.I love the interaction between these two characters not only is it sexy and hot with all the fire ,its fun and romantic.I love that you get glimpses of future stories but you get a sexy look at the future of Black Diamond. The writer captures not only the feelings of each character but you get such wonderful descriptions that you can actual pictures in your head. This is a writer at the top of there game.If you have not indulged in this series then you are so missing out. This is LaserJet if men and women who know how to love, laugh and handle business.

Great Read!

I have thoroughly enjoyed The Black Diamond Series. ART OF DECEPTION tied up a lot of loose ends and answered a myriad of questions that occurred throughout the series.
Wow! So the Sun God is The Man! Who knew? D Camille Maat displayed some serious writing skills in this series. The chemistry between the Sun God, Ray Parker and his Moon, Isabelle Martin was off the chain HOT! This book had just the right amount of mystery and intrigue that balanced well with the romance. The ending was wonderful! Thank you D Camille Maat for a great book. I am so looking forward to the next generation!

Wow! Words cannot explain how I feel about this series

D. Camille did the dam thing ! I'm in awe with what she wrote not only did she give a lesson in history, she also hit on drug and human trafficking which is destroying black communities all over the world. The examples she gave about black love was extraordinary ,I loved the term Goddess, and warrior . The Black Diamonds family was amazing the couples were great together the other characters excellent . There was a lot of drama deceit humor love excitement danger and the love of family.
Buy this excellent novel and experience the joy that you will get from this novel.

Well, the story seems to be over but is it? Many of the questions about Jordan's father were answered somewhat. It was good to see that Ray and Isabelle were able to build a solid relationship. She was a ingenious sister as she devised a list for Ray and I like that she allowed her married sisters to help her with her relationship. Isabelle's father is a piece of work that has not met the wrath of the Black Diamonds.
There are additional questions on some things but a good series..

Thanks for the journey..

Loving the Sun God and Goddess

This series keeps getting better and better. Especially Ray with his sexy self and Isabelle did the hokey doke on him and made him fall more in love with her. We need more men that are Sun God know how to worship a woman and also Goddess are included where they know how to worship their men. Also loving me some Jordan and Sean all three were some sexy Chocolate Brothers.

Another Fantastic Read

I loved this book, this series does not disappoint. I am not a big fan of Callie, not sure why, I think I've always known she was not being honest and I adore Trent. Spoiler**** after what happened with Callie I wasn't sad but how the writer wrote Trent's scenes I felt the emotions to my core. What great writing.
