One night, Tom finds a dragon under his bed. It's quite a friendly dragon but has a rather inconvenient appetite. Of course, what dragons really like to eat is young girls, but the only one of those to hand is Tom's sister and he couldn't really let the dragon eat her. Or could he?

The book was later made into a TV series by TV Loonland. A theatre company has adapted it as a children's production, and ran a UK tour in 2009.
