This is a splendid representative of a genre one might characterize as Amblings and Ramblings through Britain by County or Region. I cannot get enough of these books!

Beautifully evocative of a time when things were slow and life was much simpler. Written at the turn of the 20th century, a leisurely bike ride through Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds reveals in detail the rich history and some of the anecdotes associated with many hidden gems lying off the beaten track in this intriguingly beautiful part of rural England before it became so popular as a tourist destination.
