Professor James Landon.

I live near beautiful Seattle, Washington. I grew up reading all types of fantasy books before discovering the wonderful world of romances in high school.

I think this book is really well written, but there is one thing in a romance book that's a no-no for me. Once I figured it out, I immediately stopped reading.
A lot of people will enjoy this book, so don't let my hangups deter you. Ms. Edwards is an excellent writer, and this book had the promise of being my new favorite read, but unfortunately it just didn't work for me.
*what I didn't like* Like I said, this won't bother some people, but it will bother others.
Ok... I received an ARC copy for an honest review. Normally I would have put the book down immediately after I read the first few paragraphs but I promised a review so I kept reading. Man am I glad I did. And at the end it made perfect sense why the book started the way it did. Celeste is a lot like me in many ways so I could relate to her. But Landon on the other hand was not so favorable. Until you get to know him. I truly thought I had the whole book figured out and then something unexpected happened. So it's not your predictable story. I don't like reviews that have spoilers so I will do my best not to do that myself. Celeste is a very independent women with her own outlook on life and a plan. But plans never seem to go as she wants them to. She's headstrong from beginning to end. Then there's Summer which is her BFF. Summer is a drama queen at best. She brings all kinds of crazy to the story. Lastly, Landon (James), he seems like a total douche bag and your typical Playboy bachelor. Of course he has his reasons. But he's not so bad the more you read. This story made me smile, shed a tear, upset, and made my heart drop. It kept me guessing too. That's why it got 5 stars. I personally have yet to read a story like it and it was kind of refreshing. Usually I know how it will end. So not the case here. It is long, has lots of sex and strong language. If that's not really your thing then maybe this book isn't for you. But if so then I highly recommend it.
For quite some time now my preferred way to go into most books is to know absolutely nothing about it. Nowadays when I buy hard copies of books (that cost more than $2.50 at the PTSO or Salvation Army or something) they are almost always books that I checked out from the library (usually either based on a recommendation or after reading a free sample on my Nook, though sometimes only because the cover or the title appeals to me) and loved so much I wanted to own or books I haven't read by authors who have written books that I loved.
Your average romance novel is often the exception to my blind reading policy. Usually what I'm after in a romance novel is kind of a palate cleanser and for me all that really requires is a Happily Ever After ending. For me these books can be pretty bad and I'll still like it as long as the main characters get that happy ending. So when I need a book like this I usually try to find one that is pretty cheap (or on NetGalley or Kindle Unlimited) and then check Goodreads to see if it sounds like it's up my alley. And since the romance novels I read tend to be pretty formulaic I don't usually feel bad about reading spoilers.
If that was the way I had discovered LANDON, if I had known what would happen, there's a good chance I would not have read it. One night while browsing through various romance titles here on Goodreads I came across this book which was still a week or two from being released. It was already rated very highly by the people who read the ARC, though, and there was a link to a free sample. I read that and was reasonably interested in reading more. I don't read romance very regularly and I'm still quite new to the genre so I usually stick to pretty basic stuff. If you hand me a typical romance novel (1. lots of intimacy issues from one or both parties and 2. a male lead who starts off problematic but then 3. the overwhelming feelings of love they have for one another help them overcome their issues) and it has at least two of those things I will usually eat that shit up. After reading the free sample it was clear that 1 and 2 were there and I assumed that, as a stand-alone, I would get to the end and 3 would be a given. And that did happen. Celeste overcame her intimacy issues and finally accepted that she was truly loved and James finally found true love and he didn't even know that it was what he had needed all along. Overall I was pretty into the story. I was weirdly amused that occasionally "full of blood" was used as a descriptor for James' penis and there was a lot of dramatic stuff that I never saw coming, which I appreciate extra in romance novels.
And then Celeste agrees to have surgery to remove her brain tumor because the drugs can't keep it from growing much longer and it's her best shot at a lasting future with James. But they love each other and they deserve happiness so I just know she has to survive the surgery. My inexperience and naivete concerning romance novels has me so prepared for a pretty well-deserved happily ever after. They have both been through so much already.
James is driving Celeste to the hospital on the morning of her surgery and at the end of the page I'm thinking she falls asleep listening to James or maybe she passes out again and when I turn the page she's going to be coming out of surgery extra confused because she wasn't conscious when she arrived at the hospital.
I turn the page and my heart fucking drops and I honestly wanted to cry. It was so unfair, it was too real. For the book to build up that idealized version of love that you get in romance novels, for James to love Celeste so much, even after being together such a short period of time, that he stayed with her after finding out she had cancer and especially how he didn't treat or think about her differently. That's not real. In real life Serious Problems overshadow love. In real life a guy you aren't even technically dating and have only known for a couple months is gonna cut and run when he finds out that you not only have a brain tumor but this is your third time getting cancer and you also have a pretty shoddy heart. James and Celeste deserved more time with each other.
That is not a criticism of the book at all. In most fiction I appreciate a more realistic ending and I don't think that Celeste dying had a negative impact on the quality of the book. It didn't feel forced at all and if she was going to die it's so much better that she just drifted off listening to James than if something had gone wrong in surgery. I just get really emotional any time two people find love and then their time together is cut so short. It is one of the saddest tropes.

Authors fraud. Yeah whatever. Scarlett Edwards~ E.A. Knight... or whatever the hell you want to go by I honestly don't care because this book was AMAZING! I understand the reason for the name change *nothing new to me* and it's sad that a comment here leads me to believe it's automatically under sinister assumptions that's not always the case. Moving on. What a nice surprise, how I can't stress enough the best reads are the ones that blindside me! I HAD NOT ONE CLUE and I've only encounter so many with that massive GOT YA and I freaking loved every damn minute of it. It was such a bittersweet moment for me though because I encountered 2 highlights which took me into 2 directions at the end... I will not forget this ever. The only thing that bothered me so much was Celeste ping ponging around so much! But I finally thought( after looking back) it portrayed someone torn with emotions in her type of circumstances so yes it was ok. Professor Landon had my attention throughout. He "morphed" from this hot ass~ dirty~talking arrogant asshole into this sexy as sin~ incredible~ lovable man who knows exactly how to use his body and that damn tongue!
Celeste, I really felt her emotionally for I'm no stranger, but her thought process there for quite awhile was wearing me thin! Over all she was strong, brave, yet very deceiving for understandable reasons to herself that is. Dare I say selfish as well? Yes. Taken as a whole, I liked her quite a bit. I thank this author for leaving my reaction the way she did. She split my feelings in two.
My heart has been crushed and ripped apart right in front of my eyes, in fact, it hurt so much that it would have been a lot less messy of E.A. Knight had ripped it from my chest herself rather than have me drown in all of these painful emotions! I did not expect this book to kill me from the inside out, everything was going just fine until that twist at the end and omg I will never get this painful stab out of my heart. Landon was supposed to be a fun and beautiful and easy read and, while it was beautiful, it was anything but fun and easy to read. Not many books can lead me to tears, but E.A. Knight, you have succeeded where many have failed, and that ending was not ok. Anyway, about the book...I sat down with the book, and when I finally looked up, the sky was dark, I was crying out my soul, and I had successfully read for entire day without once looking up or eating. The language is beautiful and deeply touches your soul, the emotions so real that they capture the reader and leave them at the mercy of an evil writer. I fell in love with Celeste and James' story, their love transcending all of the painful trials they must endure, never failing to come back to each other. This is definitely a story everyone (above the age of 18) must read, E.A. Knight weaves a story of passion, love and battling fate, I fell in love, and you will too.
It's hard to review this story without giving to much away but here goes.... THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST LOVE STORIES I'VE EVER READ!!!!! James, sexy, smart, rich, cocky, arrogant, determined. He takes what he wants, does whatever he wants, and doesn't care how he gets it. (I admire most about him) trust me he does. Celeste, young grad student, fighting and hiding who she truly is. One sensual sexy smoking hot one night stand changes it all. This was unexpected, heartbreaking, hopeful, sexy, loving, crushing, broken, soulmates, this is what love at first sight is about, unconditional love. Love has no boundaries explains it all. In the end they both finally realized what true love was really about. This was FANTASTIC!!!!! Emotional roller coaster, Once I started I couldn't stop. I cried, I wanted to scream, I laughed, I prayed, this was spellbinding AMAZING BEAUTIFUL WRITTEN HEARTBREAKING LOVE STORY... PURE PERFECTION
Scarlett Edwards told her readers that a lot of people were saying that this is one of her strongest book yet. I'm sorry but I'm very inclined to disagree. I think this book is a mess.
I really couldn't connect to the characters at all. Especially Celeste, with her constant lies. While I respected her decision to keep her illness a secret, it just didn't sit well with me watching her lie over and over again only for her lies to catch up with her.
Landon was creepy from the start. I swear he's like a horny 14 years old teenage boy who recently found a porn fix. He's also very immature at times which can obviously be seen by the things that come out of his mouth. It's just bizarre to me. He was one of the most respected authors and professors but he sure didn't act like it.
Landon and Celeste together were a Hot Mess. They would fight only to have make up sex and the cycle went on and on. It just annoyed me so much.
And don't get me started on the drama with Landon's ex and Celeste's best friend. They gave me a headache. Also that I felt like she was leading her on.
Also that plot twist in the end didn't faze me in the least. By then I was really desperate for the book to be over.
Overall, this book hasn't been the most pleasant to read. But A+ for the author's effort.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Be prepared because this book should take your breath away. It was longer than usual but I finished it in one sitting! So deliciously hot and sexy. On a technical stand it was written and edited flawlessly. On a storyline level I was so impressed and completely engrossed from start to finish. Reading other reviews; yes it was very detailed but that just added to the plot line. Both James and Celeste were over the top crazy for each other sexually and subtly falling for each other. Throw in a crazy roommate/best friend and a greedy ex-wife and this book becomes salacious enough for the movies! The final chapters left me hanging on to the edge of my seat. Not giving spoilers but my heart was on a rollercoaster ride. I think we needed the extra details of the roommate and ex-wife to bring it all together so it made total sense. Great job!!
One hell of a ride. This book was just perfection! A journey. It captivated me from the start, it was a complete difference from Scarlett Edwards other books and I guess that was her intention from the beginning. This book is long, and it discusses every single detail, yeah there was times I just wanted to skip to the end and know what will happen, but something compelled me to read each page in full detail, its apparent that the author did the effort, it wasn't a normal book, it was a journey, a woman's story, a story about surviving and finally a story about a strong woman who was able to let go and depend on others for a change! Celeste was an ordinary woman who thought she was tainted by her cancer and illness, and it affected her life and then James Landon jumps in the picture changing her entire life and perspective. Their dialogue was intense, but so well written! The scene where she exploded and told him the truth about her illness was the master scene for me. The ending was realistic, made me cry and actually I'd have been disappointed if it was different! I truly hated her best friend, Summer, even after knowing why she acted, I couldn't consider this a good excuse so she always irritated me. I loved how this book focused on the two main characters only and not so many outsiders. Having two point of views as one in a twisted but beautiful way was definitely a bonus!! So this book has it all, a somehow forbidden romance, laughter, anger, sadness, and tears. Thank you E.A. Knight/ Scarlett Edwards for this ARC, and this book! And you truly succeeded in showing us that you can't only write Dark Romance but also other genres! I definitely need this as a paperback!
Panty Scorching- 5 Storyline-5 Angst- 5 Tissues-5 Value-5 Overall Rating- 5 Received an ARC for review
What an unexpected story.
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this story. I have read another story from the author and I love her writing style, so I thought I would give this one a try.
I was not disappointed at all.
This is a true love story about two people coming together and changing each other’s life forever.
It starts off with Celeste starting off with her “rules”, things like never sleeping with the same person twice. Never spend the night with a man. She came up with these rules because of someone who has broken her heart. Then it proceeds to the line “I’ve been watching you all night”. She is on a yacht with her roommate for a party, she goes inside to get some space away from the party and she runs into a “mysterious man”. Well, this “mysterious man” is James Landon, Professor Landon.
I don’t want to give too much more away to spoil the story for anyone. Just know that the sex scenes between Celeste and James is HOT, HOT, HOT. The “angst” between the two of them is off the charts also. Celeste is pushing James away, and even keeping her best friend at arm’s length for a reason.
It is a very emotional story and it really ripped my heart out at the end, but it was so worth it. I think… I of course had to take a few hours to think about that…and feel that way. When the story ended…I felt differently. LOL
It was really well written and I didn’t want to put it down until the very end, and then I wanted to throw it across the room because I didn’t want it to end the way it did.
I won't give you a synopsis of this book as I would be too afraid to ruin some of the plot twists within. There are plenty of scenes in this book though that will make you blush and have you looking up to see if anyone around you is catching the screen-play that's just been running through your mind. But there is much more to this story than just a steamy romance and you need to be prepared as there are quite a few jagged twist and turns within the plot that you will most likely not be fully prepared for. So don't say you weren't warned... This is the type of story though that after you read it you'll be more inclined to grab a hold of the one you love and hold tight to them. You might just let go of all your petty differences for a bit of time and really appreciate those you have around you and even possibly forgive those slights you've imagined. It's a story that you will invest apart of yourself in and in return it will take a hold of you and force you to feel. So be prepared this is not something that I would rate as light and flirty read. I would describe it as a fast paced roller coaster ride of a read that may leave you a little shaken but changed for the better at the end and highly recommended.
I am literally sitting in front of my laptop writing this review and crying over this stupid book. I feel duped!! I am so mad at Scarlett Edwards that I could see myself throttling her. How dare you make me fall in love with your characters???? James was such an amazing character. His intellect, integrity, honesty, devotion, love, etc. made him the best person in this book. How he handled Celeste, right up until the end, was truly incredible. But I'm still mad!! Does this author not like HEAs???? And if not, why didn't anyone freaking warn me????
If you are interested in reading a book about two extremely interesting characters who fight against an impending and certain love, who fight the odds, who stand together against foes (Angela and Summer were scum. Summer in no way was redeemed in my eyes, regardless of how she was at the end), and has a messed up twist at the end that will frustrate and aggravate the sh*t out of you, then this is the book for you.
This is not a romance novel, there is no HEA, the h dies.
Note to self; "a story of a young college girl meeting a stranger whom she is instantly attracted to..they share an amazing night. She leaves n the am before he wakes. In the days n weeks that follow, She cannot get him off her mind. Classes start a few weeks later..... Her mystery man winds up being her professor! He wants her.... And doesnt want to let go..but Celeste holds a secret... She is sick. She doesn't want to hurt him by dying."
She dies at the end. NO HEA.

I received and ARC and was majorly excited to dive in. My attention was grabbed just a few pages into the first chapter. To call this a roller coaster ride would be an understatement, I got whip lash (in a good way) from all of the the culminating events. It's sooo tough not to put a spoiler in here to help convey the level of enthusiasm I have for this book but I am going to be good and leave the good stuff to the readers. I assure you, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!! Enjoy!
Voto reale 4-- Non ci posso credere.
"My woman, my lover, my Celeste" -James Landon
LANDON…THE ONE MAN WHO COULD HOLD THE VERY THING I COULD NOT GIVE HIM, BUT JUST MAY TAKE IT ANY WAY!
"I'm Celeste. I'm not exactly innocent, but I'm not entirely a slut, either."
Celeste Adams is a graduate Literature student attending the University of Chicago with her best friend from high school, Summer. Celeste is hoping moving in together they could make-up for the five years they have been apart attending different universities for their under-graduate degrees. One thing is for sure has change, Celeste is more cynical and no longer believes in happily-ever-after. In a matter a fact she has develop some strange rules now to protect her heart.
“The first is, never sleep with the same man twice.” “The second is that if you must sleep with the man twice, never spend the night.” “The third is that if you must spend the night, ever (God forbid) develop feelings.”
Summer was ready to party like they did in high school shortly after Celeste arrived in their new apartment, especially after scoring a special invitation to a yacht party. While Celeste wanted to focus on rekindling their friendship, Summer pleads with Celeste to attend the party. Since school has not started, Summer wants Celeste to go with her to the party to dance, drink, and meet some guys. Celeste agrees to the yacht party, because Summer promise to keep her safe since she was new in the city – until she meets a beautiful stranger in the night.
"I've been watching you all night."
When Celeste decides to walk away from the party to the other side of the yacht she gets more than she bargains for the evening.
“He’s handsome. No, that’s too generic. Too ordinary. This man, whoever he is, is more than just handsome. He is…magnificent. His eyes are the clearest green I’ve ever seen. Dark lashes frame them.”
So was Celeste one night of passion on the yacht fate, when she stares at the same pair of green eyes weeks later?
“His eyes meet mine before I can hide or look away. Momentary surprise flickers across his features. And then comes a slight, sexy mischievous, self-satisfied smile. He turns away and continues the lectures.”
Celeste cannot believe the man standing before her is Professor James Landon, the same man from the yacht! She cannot have this, because even though he is looking at her does not truly know her. Why would a man like him want her when he could have anyone?
"My woman, my lover, my Celeste.”
E.A. Knight’s novel, LANDON is a CAPTIVATING, POWERFUL, GUT-WRENCHING love story of COMPASSION, DECEPTION, DETERMINATION, JEALOUSY, SCORCHING SEX SCENES, FRIENDSHIP, SUSPENSE, and LOVE. LANDON will capture your attention immediately and will be unable to put the book down, because you will want to uncover how one night… one man… one moment… one love… can change their future. E.A. Knight, LANDON has truly imprinted on my heart as a GREAT love story!
"Words are precious. Once they’re on paper, there’s no taking them back. They’re on record, they’re there for good. Physical… transactions... can be forgotten. A night of fun turns in to a memory the next day. Writing remains forever."
ARC copy for honest review. This is a full length book. And a stand alone.
First chapter... Bam!!! Hot sex! College party girl, Celeste meets Landon at a party quietly lurking in the shadows.... Watching her. He wants her... And He's very confident that he will have her. He looks drop dead gorgeous, is a famous author, a hot college professor, he knows what he wants and Celeste is what he wants. She know nothing about him except he's hot. Celeste swore to stick by her own rules. “The first is, never sleep with the same man twice.” “The second is that if you must sleep with the same man twice, never spend the night.” “The third is that if you must spend the night, never, ever (God forbid) develop feelings.” “She was doing pretty good abiding by those rules. That is, of course… until he came along.”
On age 296. Loving this book so far!!!
—-------------------------------- Oct 14,2015 Finshed.
likable well written main 2 characters. Very detailed. At times... A bit too many. I was aggravated a few times with Celestes refusal to get the help she needed but I guess in the end she knew herself better because she was right. I would have liked her even more if she was a bit more vulnerable instead of always holding it in.. And pushing away from James....at times really felt like she just didn't want to try to live or get better.... I mean who has cancer n tumors n withholds serious information from the Dr??? Main Characters: Celeste Adams, Professor James Landon. Other characters- Summer (Celestes BFF & room mate) (her character was a bit confusing...i hated her n wanted her to grow up or shut the fuck up... Not sure which I wanted more. She has an evil streak and her character confused me from beginning to end. She made no sense. Angela (James Ex wife).
An Erotic love story for sure-It was tragic, heartbreaking and at times so fuckng aggravating!! This story has many twists n turns... A few too many with Summer & in my opinion had too many sides to her that weren't necessary & led to me thinking: WTF?? EA Knight weaves a story of a young college girl who shares an apartment with her childhood friend, summer. Summer takes her to a Yacht party where Celeste meets a stranger whom she is instantly attracted to..they share an amazing night. She leaves n the am before he wakes. In the days n weeks that follow, She cannot get him off her mind. Classes start a few weeks later..... Her mystery man winds up being her professor! He wants her.... And doesnt want to let go..but Celeste holds a secret... She is sick. She doesn't want to hurt him by dying.... She keeps pulling away....Fighting with herself & James.... this is their journey. though I Have issues with Summers character, I enjoyed the story and was truly touched by the love James had for Celeste.

I received arc from the author, never did I ever think I would receive one and I'm very happy to have read the book and to write a review. The synopsis is above so I won't recap that. I really enjoyed the main characters both Celeste and James are very well written characters and I didn't feel there was any room for improvement. I do however feel like Summer could have been a bit better written. I do understand her better near the end of the book more about her but to be fair I really didn't care much for her. I liked from the synopsis that this was going to be a longer novel, but as I was reading it I was constantly thinking "why do I need to know this"? The entire book is in great detail and throughout the book I kept thinking why is there so much detail it seems like it's really dragging. BUT at the end of the book you really begin to appreciate the extent of the detail and know why there was so much detail placed into the book. I really wasn't sure as I neared the end of the book if I liked the book or not but as I said above the ending really gives you the appreciation for the details in the book. You can tell the author placed a great deal of time and effort on this novel and it shows. I'm glad she has branched into different areas of romance writing. Personally I'm not huge into bdsm, so this was a refreshing change. I'm personally more of a happily ever after book lover but I will say despite that not occurring I did really like this book a whole lot. It was quite heartbreakingly beautiful. I would highly recommend it to anyone! I know as you read it you will be the same as me thinking why is there so much detail and why is does it seem to be dragging on, but I swear if you just keep reading and appreciating the written words you will love this book by the end. Definitely worth every moment spent reading the details!
I received E.A. Knight book Landon in a ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am giving this book 5 stars.
This is my first time reading one of E.A. Knight books. and she just blew me away with this book. Celeste and Landon are the two epic lovers who make you wish that you had a love like theirs. They have a one night stand that is going to turn out to be so much more. But what Celeste does not know that she is sleeping with her professor. When she shows up to class with her best friend Summer she learns about her new sexy hot professor from her bestie. She learns that not only is her new professor her one night stand but he is also a well known famous Author. After that night they had together they both know they need more of each other. Celeste and Landon change each other in so many good ways. What makes there love story so epic is no matter what they do to each other they both know that they will also be bond to each other forever. And in so many ways they always will be. This couple goes through so many obstacles that deals with a jealous ex, jealous bestie, and a life changing event that proves to Celeste how much Landon really does love her. E.A Knight did such a brilliant job on this book. She truly is an astonishing writer. If you have not read this book read it please. By the end of this book I was crying like a baby. I wish I had a Landon that would love me know matter what, and who would stick by me when I am at a low point in my life. Thank you E.A Knight for writing such a passionate honest love story and ending the story so beautifully.
This book blew my mind and I'm still processing it.
The story is alluring, powerful and impressive. The characters are very well created and the history is excellently developed.
I liked Celeste. She's a woman who needs love but she's afraid to give and receive it. With all the issues in her life, she has strict rules for herself and lives by them... Until James came into her life to crush everything she believes.
James is just gorgeous. His determination to be with Celeste till death do us part (literally) makes him a very confident man. Both Celeste and James were made for each other and they both teaches the other great things about live, love and, definitely, death.
All the secondary characters are brilliant. From James's ex wife (how much I hate her!!) to Celeste's best friend, all of them made their job perfectly.
A story which made me cry, laugh and everything in between with its twists and unexpected turns, Landon is the best book I read from Ms. Edwards. I LOVED the "Uncovering You" series with its dark romance, but Landon (which is a sad romance, not a dark one) was the book that made me include Ms. Edwards in my prestigious list of "Fetish Authors".
P.D.: Looking forward for the next dark romance from this author ;)
I'm not quite sure where to begin aside from the fact that I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK!! I'm such a sucker for a student/teacher storyline. The tabooness of it all just sucks me in and consumes me.
"I'm Celeste. I'm not exactly innocent, but I'm not entirely a slut, either."
With an opening line that?! Hook. Line. Sinker. I knew Landon was going to rock my world! Little did I know, it would also crush my heart and completely gut me. Landon is NOT your typical student/teacher storyline. Sure, there's A LOT of scorching HOT Sex..omg it's just fucktastic!! *fans self* but what I loved most about this story were the unexpected twists and turns that knocked me on my ass, left me reeling with tears streaming down my face.
It's not light and fluffy. It's a fast paced roller coaster ride of heart wrenching epicness...never knowing what lies in waiting on the next page.
"You deal with the cards handed to you. if you spend your days longing for the -what if-, your whole life will pass you by in a blur of pity and regret."
What started as a one night stand slowly transitions into one of the best love stories I have ever read! This is a book that needs to be experienced and absorbed. A top read of 2015 and one that I'd die to read again for the first time.
This book was AMAZING. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book of Scarlett / E.A.'s that I've read.
When I read the synopsis I was intrigued. The cover alone was hot enough to make me want to read it. Then I opened it and was hooked from page one.
Celeste is a beautiful, heartbreaking, complicated character. She will warm your heart one minute and exasperate you the next. She's dealt with some pretty crappy hands in life, but she's managed to do so with strength, determination and her head held high.
James Landon is a world renowned author. He's known for his playboy ways. He's cocky, smart, and puts on a facade because people expect him to be a certain way. What he really is, is charming and endearing. And he doesn't give up easily.
I'm not telling you about the plot because I hate spoilers. But I will say that this book will play on your emotions and you won't even realize it. There are a few very surprising twists, and that keeps you on your toes and turning the page.
This story is about letting people in and not being afraid to love. It's about taking chances and not being alone; learning that it really is ok to lean on someone.
This is a beautifully written story of two people who will stay with you long after the final word is said.
Scarlet Edwards is now writing under the name of E.A. Knight. Previously a writer of Dark Erotica, this is more of a standalone contemporary love story.
This love story will make you laugh, cry, and feel all the emotions in between. Celeste & Landon start out as a hot as hell one-night stand that neither of them can forget. Both have given up on love and it has left a bad taste in both of their mouths. One is cynical, the other trusts noone. There are secrets and betrayals, twists and turns. We have a gold digger of an ex-wife, a crazy best friend that makes you constantly wonder about about her motives, and the secret that keeps Celeste scared that everyone will leave her over.
The chemistry between Landon & Celeste is scortchingly hot! One night will never be enough for both of them. James Landon is out to make Celeste his and his alone by any motives necessary. He lets her know in no uncertain terms that they WILL be lovers. His love knows no bounds.
Buy this book now and don't miss out on all the feels! There are even book club questions in the back. Allow Scarlett Edwards ska EA Knight prove to you she can write anything and any genre and it will be great!
Wow this author has a great talent for captivating your day. Couldn't put the book down. Totally different than the other books she written but she has such a talent to bring the main characters to life and absorb you into the story. Celeste, comes across as strong, but she herself has hidden problems she's covering up. James, cocky and self righteous in the beginning finds himself absorbed in Celeste, finds a new refreshing outlook on his life. Throw in Summer, and the ex-wife is a cocktail for disaster.
Great detail throughout the whole book that comes together near the ending. Always love the last 100 pages of a good book. I had tears streaming down my face in the end, doesn't happen often but this author made it happen. I really hope she writes more of this kind if genre, this novel takes you on a roller coaster from start to finish. I appreciate the time and effort the author put into this book. Well done!! Love the dark romances but her choice was to branch into different genres, and I believe she achieved her goal. Thank you for the opportunity to pre-read this ARC.
I received this ARC from the author. Even though there were times that Celeste came across as being a selfish, immature person, she and James shared a great love. Their first encounter with each was unforgettable and it ignited a craving for each other that was way beyond what words could ever describe. Celeste's "best friend" Summer at times was beyond bipolar. Because of Summer's behavior, she ends up pushing Celeste and James closer together, much to her dismay. Celeste was the type of person who didn't readily make friends, due to her inability to trust other people. She kept pushing James away when she should have pulled him in closer. If she would have done that, then maybe things would have been different between them. this book had some surprises that I definitely did not see coming, and they came at times when I least expected it. The ending of this book is one that I will not forget in a long time.
Landon is/was a sweet story. Scarlett Edwards did a wonderful job of weaving us along as the story progressed.
OMG!! The drama – friendships are tested and ex-wives need to take a long walk on a short (very short) pier.
Celeste and Landon had a love affair that you wish will last forever. To use a quote from Scarlett Edwards/EA Knight’s webpage “…LANDON brilliantly captures the fierceness of true love condemned by the tragedy of real life.” – Sophia Sharpe
If you’re looking for a great story to tug at your heartstrings and moisten your eyes, then LANDON is the one for you. Great Read!!!
I received this book as an ARC. So, so ,so good. I couldn't put it down. There were parts I loved and parts I hated. I thought James Landon could be an ass and hated his attitude and the way he treated women then there were times I fell in love with him. Celeste had so much going on, more than a person could deal with- again sometimes loved her and sometimes felt her dicisions were awful. Super surpise ending- oh the tears I could cry! A definite must read.
