Every Last Mile

I don’t want to be your friend, Stel.

Jamie Burkett screwed up that summer night eight years ago. Now he’s home for good and ready to earn back his childhood best friend. Hoping history and friends give them common ground for a fresh start, he’s not prepared for what Stella has become. Jaime doesn’t plan on their second chance starting naked, on their first night, in the backseat of his car at the local make-out spot, in Stella’s bed, or the next morning on a kitchen chair. But one kiss, and his plans to take it slow are dust.

You have better friends than I ever was.

Stella Krasinski is miles away from the night Jaime broke her heart. Her tattoo shop is a success, her motorcycle is ready to ride, and she has the Mutiny the tight-knit group of best friends who always have her back. Stella thinks one night will be enough to get him out of her system, a little payback for pushing her away so long ago. Only the man he's become is hard to resist.

I want to be your man.

This is the first book I've read by Gretchen Rily and I can say with certainty that it won't be the last.
I fell in love with Stella and Jamie and would love to read more about their developing relationship. I thought that the writing style of this book felt very natural and gave the characters a genuine quality that made them relate-able and endearing.
This book had enough passion and heat to hold my attention and keep me interested but not so much as to seem contrived. I would highly recommend this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one in the Mutiny Dolls series.

This is only my opinion

I just could not read this, it was way to try hard the way she reversed the role of bad ass biker to the female lead just did not work for me. It may work for others though. It was like she was taking the piss out of MC books and that does not sit well with me as I love them.

I liked this book, but I'm still left with too many unanswered questions. I don't know why Jaime left so abruptly eight years ago, I don't know where he went or what he did (not clearly, but I gathered some ideas), I don't know why he stayed away so long without contact with his best friend and girl that means so much to him when he kept in contact with others. I also don't understand how Stella could jump in the sack with him and both of them be in love so deeply before any conversation about the past takes place. I really liked the idea of the Mutiny Dolls and how close the girls were. I enjoyed hearing details about the ink, but I'm left wanting more. I suppose it could be because it was a shorter read, but a lot was packed in to those pages. I'm hoping to read book two soon and possibly get some more answers.

Grabbed this as a freebie on Amazon and sure glad I did! I absolutely loved Jaimie and Stella and really need more of their story! Short novella, fast paced and easy to whip through it was over before I wanted it to be. Lots of steam with amazingly detailed scenes. Rily's writing style is exactly what I want in a hot romance! The sighs, the lip biting, the small intimate moments, that make you actually FEEL like it's happening to you, were written to perfection. Looking foward to more from these crazy ladies, The Mutiny Dolls. But, sure wouldn't mind more on Stella and Jaimie either!
I'm reeled in.

Every Last Mile (Mutiny Dolls Book 1) Review

This book just grabs you from the very beginning and takes you on a roller coaster ride of deep emotional angst and Holt, steamy sexual chemistry. In your face characters that lay it on the line for each other and are so real life like. A story line that leaps from the pages and pulls you in. I will be sharing with my reading circle! A very good read!

Every Last Mile is my 1st book by Gretchen Rily and was happy with my experience. This was a quick read and my only downfall if I would even call it that - would be it felt like it lacked a little more of Stella and Jaime and their history that plays a huge role in this book. If there is a second book in the making this may be caught up there. But don't let that put you off.

Stella Krasinski is not your normal gorgeous girl, she owns her own tattoo shop that is very successful, she rides a mean ass bike and has her best friends with her in a group affectionately known as "the mutiny dolls". No one can break up these girls and for Stella, she has left behind her teenage life for everything she has now. The only person who can destroy her the boy that left her 8 years earlier. Jaime Burkett.... and now he is back, and poir Stella had no idea.

Jaime Burkett, has always regretted leaving Stella 8 yrs ago, and now he has returned he wants her back. Showing up at their childhood home Stella is shocked when the doors opens and all gorgeous, lean body Jaime is there to greet her. Before Stella knows what's happening, she is swept back into Jaime' s arms and rekindling the heat that came to a great screaming halt all those years ago. Knowing she has always wanted him, she quickly gives in and they share their 1st extremely hot sexual encounter.

One make out session, continues into a night out with her friends and then a night in when they return to her place. The following morning Jaime must get Stella to understand that now he is back, it is to stay forever... But will Stella forgive him for the past and move forward or walk away afrer their hot night together?

I loved Stella's character, she is all tough exterior with her mean ass tattoos, but is really a softie at heart and it is her heart that will take the biggest hit in this story. Jaime's character pretty much had me dislike him from the blurb, but when we finally got to meet him and his story my heart warmed a little for him.

Well done Ms Rily.

Usually, I'm not a big fan of short books but I can see the appeal. This is a very good short book.
This series is about the Mutiny Dolls, a group of girl friends with a very strong bond, I guess we'll know more about them as the other books come out (I'll look for them, for sure).

This is the story of Stella, a member of the gang and her lost love Jamie. They were friends in high school, Stella felt something for him but he was oblivious and one night changes everything for them (no spoilers). Jamie leaves Stella and after that she uses the experience to strengthen her resolve and become a succesfull tatto artist, but after Jamie's return to her life everything could change.

The book is short and the story develops as you read, normally that gets me antsy because I WANT TO KNOW but in this case it worked and it was what kept me reading. I really liked the sex scenes! Of course I'm a full novel kind of girl and would've liked a full book but I enjoyed this and I'll read more form this author.

This short little number is so hot, it felt just like molten lava!!!! You'll have butterflies from the first few pages till the end and seriously excited ones!!!! Stella and Jaime are so wonderful together, not only the sizzling chemistry but the witty banter, the deep connection, the emotional scars.... Well written with an interesting story and such wonderful characters this book is an addictive, funny, witty, sexy and creative with a new concept for me! An all girl MC!!! The girls, all of them, will make you want to be part of the gang to be like them and Stella, such a strong, fiery and feisty little amazon!! But why did it have to end so quickly? And so abruptly? I might have appreciated a little smoother ending!?! But regardless of a bumpy cutting, there is no denial in my envy of more!!! I really can't wait to read the second book!!!! Stella and Jaime: Welcome to my hottest couple list!!!! Gretchen Rily: Two Thumbs Up!!!!

I RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
This is a story of old friends who get a second chance to get it right. Stella and Jaime were best friends growing up. When Stella makes a move, Jaime panics and runs away. Stella was devastated but it made her stronger and helped her become the woman she is today. timing is everything. They were not ready to be together then. After they grew into the people they are now, they were better able to deal with their relationship. This a short quick read. I liked Stella and her sass. She didn't make Jaime grovel, but that's ok. It fits her character. She was no nonsense and knew what she wanted. Jaime knew he had made a mistake but he was willing to work to get STella back. Nice, fun read.

Years ago, Jaime and Stella were friends. When she tried to take it further, he fled the scene and she learned to live with it. Stella acquired a rep as a tattoo artist, bought a Harley, and bonded strong with a group of women who call each other the Mutiny Dolls. They live fearlessly with edgy verve. Then Jaime comes back to town, and he's making moves on Stella. Sure she's tough, but is she tough enough to let him in? And live with it if he leaves again? This erotic romance has a little something extra: emotional complexity and humor in a sexual context. I wouldn't expect anything less from Gretchen Rily. And I am really looking forward to the rest of this series

This is a super sexy novella. I love all the night scenes. The late nights add an edgy, sexy and youthful atmosphere. I also like how the women formed their friendship, how they all look out for each other.

Stella is a modern woman. She's tough without being nasty. I liked how Jaime thought. He started using what he knew from his former friendship with Stella, using his brain and getting it right this time. I also liked seeing him through Stella's eyes.

There's an economy of words in Riley's style and just the right amount of detail. A fast ride through her sultry world leaves lingering good memories.
