I received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. Jim Broadbent, a very dedicated policeman, drinks to much, his marriage is failing, and he thinks too much about a female co-worker. There is a serial rapist on the lose for him to track down and an old case about a sex ring has gotten hot again. Can he keep everything together and solve his cases as well?

Abducted is a compelling crime thriller that takes readers on a journey through the lives of victims and investigative teams and they race against time to stop a rapist, help abused children and shutdown a sex ring.

Abducted starts off with a terrified woman hiding in the woods as she tries to escape her captor. When Becky is finally rescued she informs the police of the horrific ordeal she faced at the hands of a rapist. A concerned officer puts her at ease and is determined to find the culprit, but it isn't until the rapist claims another victim, that Jim realizes he has a serial rapist on his hands. To make matters worse his wife files for divorce and the criminal cases seem to be piling up. Can Jim and his team uncover the clues they need to put those involved behind bars where they belong?

I found Abducted to be a straightforward and well organized novel. The author's knowledge of police work and criminal investigations aid in the story's credibility. The story moves along at a quick pace and anticipating what will happen next makes it a mesmerizing read from beginning to end.

I recommend picking up a copy.

This is a fairly harrowing, graphic book based around DS Jim Broadbent investigating rape & child abuse.

His marriage has failed, he becomes involved with Jackie & their affair is rather steamy. Can Jim & his colleagues catch the attacker before they commit another offence. The book starts well & grips the reader, full of explanation & a good insight into how the police process information, it is apparent the author has previous experience in this field.

Not for the faint hearted due to the subject matter it is quite a difficult read but having said that if you ‘like’ a page-turner that keeps you on your toes set at a fairly fast pace then this is for you. View it as a crime thriller & it is a good suspenseful story!
Thanks to the author & Ravenswood Publishing for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

I found this book very difficult to read. I'm sure the author is writing from his experience as a former policeman but there was just too much detail about rape and it's aftermath for me to feel at ease. If you like your reading to be extremely down to earth or gritty, then this could be for you.

Abducted by Roger Rapel is a great read!! I loved the way the book opened. I was glued waiting to see what happened next. I will say that the ending totally got me, I wasn't expecting that. The characters were relatable, and the story could be real. Thanks for the great read!!
