Wanted: One Ghost by Loni Lynne is a May 2013 release and a Crescent Moon Press publication.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

James Addison has been dead for over two hundred years. He was executed for treason. Now Dr. April Branford has been hired by billionaire Kenneth Miles to find out if a certain piece of property was actually owned by his forebears. He has some plans for the property and is in a hurry to see who has the rights to it.
King's Mill has a long and storied history. April is not having much luck in her search for information about James Addison. On a ghost tour, April strikes up a conversation with a man she believes is a part of the tour.
Later, while speaking to her Aunt Vicki, she finds out that in reality, she has seen her first ghost. This is a gift all the ladies in her family possess. April and her mother have dreaded this day.
When April finds herself out on Halloween with the ghost of James Addison looking for his place of burial, a strange thing happens and James finds he is no longer a ghost, but a living, breathing man. Not only that, He and April have a connection that too strong to ignore.
The two of them work together with some help from the historical society, April's gifted family, and few people from the past to get to the bottom of who is the actual owner of the King's Mill property and why James ended up accused of treason and executed.

This is a mystery, a paranormal romance, and sort of a time travel/historical novel. Mostly light hearted and really funny when James tries to adjust to the independent women of present day. However, James does remind us of a time when men were gentleman in a good way.
April has a job to do and tries to stick to that, while she tries to enjoy every day she has with James. Since her gift arrived she also finds her aunt's house is very haunted, and April experiences some frightening encounters with some of them. Her investigation leads to some startling revelations about the past.
As things play out between the past and the present, April will have to believe in fate and have faith, because things are not always what they seem.
This was an outstanding debut novel. A sweet, sigh worthy romance that will leave you very happy with the way things turn out. Everyone involved gets what they need and the characters all grow through the experiences they have since James entered their lives.
Lovers of contemporary, mystery, paranormal, and time travel romances will all find this novel appealing. This one deserves an A.

A nice ghost story!

A potpourri of paranormal abilities! And all in one family!

Add a touch of time travel and you'll get the idea of this book!

I enjoyed it, but there were some inconsistences and some TSTL action from the heroine.

I liked the hero, James, better. I snickered when he first interacted with the 21st century! It was really fun!

If you want to read a book where every paranormal ability and activity is present, then this book is for you! :)

My review contains spoilers and they're mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...

Wanted: One Ghost by Loni Lynne was an exciting read from the beginning till the end. I love ghost stories and this book didn’t disappoint me. I loved the premise, all the intricate ideas of Psychometry and how it was played throughout the story. There were a few minor complaints and distractions that I could’ve done without though. I’ll try to elaborate in the following.

April has the gift of Psychometry. She discovered this since she was a child, which is an inheritance from her mother’s side of the family. Her grandma Dottie and aunt Vickie have inherited such paranormal abilities from their mother, though their gifts differ, i.e. Vickie can feel the energy in her environment and can read the past from there. April’s mother, Virginia, who has always tried to ignore her ability, can hear the entities who seek her out to tell their stories. But Virginia hates this more than anything. She has dreaded April having to cope with something like this from their ‘freaky’ inheritance, and sure enough, April can see the past vividly by touching an artifact or an object. She has studied and trained to be a Historian. April loves her work but her love life has not gone so good. She couldn’t very well confide in her boyfriends. The last break up was really sordid because the guy blamed her for making things up. After that, April has been discreet about her abilities.

Presently, April is in the King’s Mill to unearth some important information about a man named James Addison, who was very popular in his days some 200 plus years ago. His gristmill was the biggest in the Kings Mill area (named after the said mill). He was also a known rake, a womanizer with questionable reputation of having ménage a trois with barmaids. Addison hailed from England to settle here but met an untimely demise when he was charged with treason and hanged. One of his descendents, a reclusive British billionaire named Kenneth Miles has hired April to dig out more authentic information about James Addison and if he owned the gristmill or not. Apparently, all the historical facts tell them that he never owned the mill but the then commissioner of the area, Henry Samuel did. Miles obviously has some business venture in mind and wants the information ASAP.

The tree where Addison was hanged, alongside some other spots are currently known as the hot spots of Paranormal activities. Kings Mill has a steady income from having ghost tours and other festivals that connects James Addison to the history of this place quite solidly. His hanging is the part of that yearly festival closer to the Halloween. Plays, dramas, ghost tours and what-nots are acted out. April is currently staying with her aunt Vickie who bought a colonial house here some years ago. April wants to do some thorough research, using whatever historical records she can find alongside her own special ability.

When the story begins, April was attending a ghost tour but the guide was obviously following a script, which would not be very helpful in her work. As the tour moves away, April decides to stay a while. Then she notices a man in colonial dress under the tree were Addison was hanged. April takes the man as another guide (Halloween time and ghost tours, people do dress up for those) and decides to ask him some questions. April manages to get him to give her a personal tour. When she’s about to leave, April is so impressed by his authenticity (his dress-up, his knowledge of the history of Kings Mill, accent etc.) alongside his good looks, that she’s moved to take a picture. At home, the truth is slapped on her face when she’s unable find the man in the picture but an orb. Aunt Vickie sagely confirms that she has seen her first real ghost!

James has been roaming the streets of Kings Mill since the day he has died of that false accusation. Yes he has been all those things that people like to talk about (especially his ‘prowess in bed’ which makes still makes him preen *eyeroll*) but he has never committed treason in his life. He has heard a lot of distorted versions of why he was hanged; one was about him having an affair with Henry’s pretty and sweet wife, Catherine which is a bald-faced lie. So far, James has never been able to contact or communicate with anyone. He has also been reliving his life as he did all those years ago (a residual thing), finally going back to his execution scene, though after 200 yrs. it has lost its gruesome touch. But James has had enough. He wants answers so that he can move on.

When that pretty young woman starts talking to him, James couldn’t believe it! When the truth dawns upon him, James couldn’t help doing a little jig. Someone is finally able to contact with him, even though she has no idea what she’s doing. James doesn’t want to frighten her so he acts as if he’s a tour guide. He likes the woman immediately, and wants her help to get the answer he’s looking for. But the next time he sees her, James startles her quite a bit. April was still pretty shaken from what Aunt Vickie told her. She went to this tour of the nearby cemetery when the tomb of the commissioner attracts her. She was trying to take an engraving when a hot electric passes through her. Then she finds James there, talking to her! April totally freaks out and decides to run away but James’s plea finally gets to her and she promises help. He leads her to his unmarked grave (no one has been able to find out where he was buried until today). When April touches the grave to find out what this might tell her, something happens to her... and to James. This complex form of power brings James back to life as the full-blooded man he once used to be!

Could you tell I was hooked in this book? Yep, I was!

April freaks the hell out after this incident. So far, she had the idea that she can only use her psychometry, but whadda hell was that? What has she done to bring a dead man to life?! She can’t come terms with this fact, which was understandable. Since he had no other place to go, April takes James to Vickie’s house. Vickie is also a little worried but more than that, she’s intrigued. Vickie wants to know what kind of ability April actually has, and how far this can go. Would this be something good or bad for her later on? But right now, there’s one hungry ghost at her resident and he needs to be taken care of. Vickie can’t but also notice James’s good looks when he was busy touching everything around him (you can imagine, after 200+ years, the man must’ve felt... crazy or something! I can’t even imagine.). She makes unsubtle hints to April about his studly looks, and then asks her to take James out to buy him food and clothes.

April tries her best to keep her recent ‘find’ a secret, but she has to carry on with her research if she has to keep her job. Moreover, James wants her help to uncover the truth of his death. In between, more paranormal activities keep intruding. One day, April drives up to the place where the gristmill once stood. She is bombarded by visions, played out in her mind as if she’s there with them. Visions of people working, then the vision of the fire that burned down the whole mill and James’s house. She also sees who were killed in the fire, or so she thought. The young woman can see her, but April can’t do anything to help her or the unconscious young man with her. April is terrified of this too realistic vision. Then later, on she encounters a ghost in the room next to hers. April recognizes the young woman from the mill. She was very distressed and asked for April’s help. Later Vickie confirms that she has sensed this young woman, too. Vickie also encourages April to help her move on but April chickens out, being scared of the unknown. She still doesn’t know how far her ‘gift’ can take her or if this is would end up being something harmful. For this reason, Vickie summons Dottie and Virginia.

April also is very intrigued by James and attracted to him. James definitely feels the same, but he more than anything thinks of her as his ‘savior’ and begins having soft feelings towards her. Between his efforts in getting used to with the modern world and all that comes with it and his interaction with April, things got a little out of the hand. As I felt, April was more interested in James because of his historical importance and no doubt his ‘rakish persona’. Her school girl crush over James annoyed the hell outta me. Her reaction to James’s legacy of ménage a troi (if you could see her thinking about this particular thing more often than not) was just not appealing to me. Personally, I don’t like rakes, unless the author makes him in a way that I can’t help but fall. I was still deciding if James is worth my patience when they almost end up having sex. It was also, IMO, too early in the story. But they were interrupted by the arrival of Virginia and Dottie.

Now Dottie was another character who grated on my nerves quite often. Between her public discussion of her own sex life and April’s, then very unsubtle hints where James was concern (for April to go and grab him) I didn’t know which was more unappealing. I mean, I’m not saying she can’t talk to her granddaughter about sex, I appreciated that she discussed sex with April when Virginia didn’t, but throwing in innuendoes and stories of her own sex life was just not done. Sorry.

Afterwards, April encounters the evil spirit that resides in the house, commissioner Henry’s. One day, while trying to communicate with Catherine’s (she now knows her identity from James, who confirmed he has never had any affair with her), Henry attacks her. He had already attacked April once before and James was duly worried about her safety. But if you know April, you’ll know she never thinks before leaping into action. So one night, she’s attacked again and James is the one who consoles her. And they end up having sex. If you read April’s reaction after that... ugh! It was more than obvious that she was infatuated with the ‘image’ James hold, rather than the man he really was, leaving me irritated.

After that they are somewhat ‘together’, but of course, not in public. April’s family is supportive of her affair with James, except for Virginia who’s more often than not is plagued by her headaches and not in a good mood. April also gets some help on her research from a member of the local Historical Society, Dr. Freelane. April takes James along for looking through the bundles of unsorted documents. Bits and pieces of information are found, but nothing tells her what she wants to know; if James ever really owned the gristmill. Kenneth Miles is somewhat disappointed by her lack of progress but April promises to do more. In between, Halloween is approaching and James lands a job! He was unhappy about April spending money on his behalf. He’s the one who’s supposed to have taken care of her, not otherwise Goddamn it! So when Dr. Freelane sees James (who was going by an alias), she is impressed, as April was, by his accent and knowledge of Kings Mill. When the actor playing James Addison suddenly resigns, she thinks James is the best option for them right now.

We encounter plenty of paranormal activities too. April keeps seeing Catherine. It seems like she’s trying to tell her something, indicating her chatelaine but without hearing her, April can’t help. Then Henry’s evil spirit interrupts her. One day, April finds her mother finally giving in and talking to Catherine. This was a big step for Virginia no doubt, and it showed that she’s finally trying to come to terms with her own ‘gift’. She also wanted to help her daughter since they’re still not sure about the depth of April’s psychometric powers. One earlier encounter in the mill, when they all went to investigate it, indicated that April can phase in and out of time, physically moving to that specific time-frame when she touches something having a history. This also worries them all, especially James.

But it seems James’s worries don’t touch April. Even after James specifically forbade her to do it, while he’s busy being the tour guide (acting as James Addison), April convinces Vickie, Dottie and Virginia to accompany her to the tree where James was hanged. She was certain she’ll be able to find something once she phases. She sees things alright, things that horrifies her. I mean what did you expect to see April when you knew you’d see James’s execution? When she returns to the present, she faints. James finds them there on the base of the tree and is very angry that they even took this risk. This is the kind of risk April took throughout the story. She even, in one scene, acknowledges that she doesn’t ‘think well’ before acting. Personally, all her repeated impetuousness (most of those she always planned on hiding from James for obvious reasons) didn’t endear her to me. I didn’t find her mature enough to handle her ‘gift’.

But as a character, James won me over after a few chapters. He already showed that he cared for April more than anything, even though April was interested into ‘taking it one day at a time’. I understand that she didn’t know how long James would stay in this world or if he’d become a ghost once more. Yet, James was brave enough to make his feelings known. April... umm no, she was not that brave. I didn’t even care about James’s rakish past at that point because I found him very endearing and sexy; an all-in-all gentleman. I was wondering, if April wasn’t sure, then was it wise to jump into bed with him like this, when she didn’t even know if she wanted to acknowledge her feelings, if any, for James?

But I want to acknowledge that Ms. Lynne did a great job of distracting me with more interesting and thrilling paranormal activities full of crazy twists and turns. The last 40% of the story was just too good. I kept having the feeling that I’m watching a movie, as the drama unfolded. I didn’t know, at all, what’s going to happen next. I was scared for James. Would he be able to stay on? Would he be forced to leave once the case is solved? What will happen then? Will April miss him enough, since I still wasn’t sure of her feelings for James as of yet.

Their research finally struck home, at one point, when James and April find some very important document with the help of Dr. Freelane. She also recognizes James from one of the old books that had a picture of his painting. But Freelane surprises April by not freaking out. She is a believer and acknowledges April’s gift without any rash judgment. April was more than sure by that time that Henry has been the one responsible for all the deaths and menace, even when he was alive. April also realizes that Catherine wants her to find out the chatelaine and look into her desk, a place where she has been most active. Dr. Freelane makes it easier for April to gain the artifact.

Halloween is only a few days away. James Addison’s hanging scene will be played out. James is terrified, worried but tries his best to think of other things. He is happy that April made such big leads in the investigation but unsure of his own life... if he can call this a life. Kenneth Miles is certainly impressed, and from his and April’s phone conversation, he’s excited with the finds and is coming to Kings Mills for the festival. April wants to meet this reclusive Billionaire, whom no one has met yet (I’m not sure how though!). James also wants to meet him but they don’t know how they’ll introduce him to Kenneth.

What will happen afterwards? How will James’s situation resolve in the end?

Gotta mention I already had formed some ideas about Kenneth and James and how this might work out but I didn’t know if I would be able to accept the solution. So, ‘thank God!’ was my reaction at the end of the story because it felt good. I also became very emotional, for James and April, for what they had to go through before being together. Then there was the fact that the story was ending. Somehow I wanted it to go on. Funny thing is, later on, I checked the author’s website where she mentioned about a sequel, that’ll feature one of the characters from James’s past. I’m SO glad that this is not ‘the end’ or so to speak.

5 really enjoyable stars for Wanted: One Ghost; a job well-done as a debut author, Ms. Lynne. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book, which has lots of new concepts to me. I really liked the way everything progressed. For people who really like some of the more history type books, will find this satisfying, as what’s better than to have over 200 year old ghost come alive again. I found the abilities that April has, and how she was able to bring James back to the living unique and enjoyable.

There is a pretty steamy scene between April and James that I thought was interesting, getting inside his head as well as April is nice. It goes back and forth, but is written from the third person view instead of the first person, as I am used to.

There are many funny parts too, as James is very old fashioned as you could imagine, as he was last alive over 200 years ago, and the ladies now really startle him on how they are in general. It’s funny with that stuff.

I think this book was written very well. I didn’t find anything wrong at all. I loved it, and think this author will go far.

I highly recommend anyone who likes a great love story with some paranormal in it.

5 out of 5 stars for sure for me.

I was provided a copy of this book for my honest review.

I do love a good ghost story, especially one that mixes in romance and suspense without the gore or horror. Add in a little historical twist to it all and I’m hooked.

WANTED: ONE GHOST, by Loni Lynne, has it all – a historical ghost story full of intrigue and murder, a handsome ghost with the reputation of a rake but the heart of a gentleman, and a strong female researcher with unique psychic powers to unlock a 200-year-old mystery.

Dr. April Branford doesn’t want to acknowledge her “special” powers, or the fact that her family is all a bit strange, each having a unique psychic gift. April’s gift is psychometry, the gift of being able to tell an object’s past by touching it, and it comes in handy in her job as a historian. On a job in the historic town of King’s Mill, her gift gets a little out of hand, and actually brings a ghost back to life! Not just any ghost, but the very one she’s in town to research.

James Addison has been stuck in limbo since being hung for treason early in the American Revolutionary period. When April’s touch brings him back to life, he’s torn. He wants to help her find the truth and have his spirit set free, but he also finds himself falling in love with April’s modern, independent spirit, and wants to stay with her forever…

I love the way the author writes the story from both points of view, and infuses touches of sarcastic wit and humor throughout. The chapters that we see through James’s eyes give a wonderful – and often funny – perspective on modern life through the eyes of a colonial-era gentleman. The romance that blossoms between James and April is both sweet and full of heat, and will have you rooting that the author finds a way for them to be together forever.

Looking for a ghost story to read this Halloween season? Grab a copy of WANTED: ONE GHOST – you won’t be disappointed!

REVIEW:
I wasn’t sure what to expect but as a fan of ghost stories, I was excited to read one with some romance and historical background. For debut author Loni Lynne I applaud her for writing a story that hooked me at the start and creating a complex historical timeline that was so detailed, I felt like I was really there.

Wanted: One Ghost follows April who like all the women in her family is gifted. She has the gift of Psychometry where she can touch objects and see the past. She also can see ghost, which is news to her especially since she runs right into the ghost of the man she’s researching. James Addison has never known the reason why he was charged and hung for treason. But after 200 plus years he never thought he’d have the chance to discover the truth or even talk to someone. But fate brought him April and together they try to put the pieces together of his past and try to fight the ghost that don’t want the truth to get out.

April is a smart woman who is a historian and is hired to discover the truth behind the mysterious James Addison of Kings Mill. Kenneth Miles her new boss believes there is something in Kings Mill to prove the innocents of his descendent and wants her to find it. From beginning to end I was curious on Kenneth Miles connection and what importance he plays, let just say it was a great twist! April is dealt with a lot of complications when not only she discover James is a ghost but also realizes her gift has brought him back to the living. But for what reason? He life has become extremely complicated and James is one man whom she can resist. Plus she will stop at nothing to discover what happened to him.

April isn’t alone in hunting down the facts about James’ past or his return. April’s mother Virginia who can hear ghost assist in a way but also makes life a bit hard for her daughter. April’s aunt Vickie and grandmother Dotti are gift as well and add some much needed humor and embarrassment for April. These ladies cracked me up with the bickering and how calm they were about a ghost coming back alive. Each help not only April with the mystery but James in discovering what it’s means to have a second chance and finding peace.

James is a sweet man who has a reputation for being a ladies man, when he meets April sparks definitely fly. Their connection is instant but it’s hard for him to woo a woman in 2012 when he’s stuck with only the knowledge of the 1700s. What I loved most about how Lynne went about James’ mysterious past with duch depth and detail. She digs deep in Aprils Psychometry as well as her family gifts to bring the reader to the past and slowly solve what’s been hidden for so long. I can’t forget about the best part, the romance! April and James are like a moth to a flame, there is no going back and they are such a thrill to watch as they get closer to one and other.

Overall I really enjoyed the history and romance, but it also made me think about how many unsolved cases like this may be buried in the history books? I love stories that can make me think and that I can immerse myself in the world the author created. The pace is great all through out, but this is a heavy read with lots of exciting twist and turns. I can’t wait for more stories from debut author Loni Lynne, she created character the readers will easily connect to and care for. This is a book that is on my must read list for those looking for a new paranormal romance.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult novel with minor sexual content but this is full of suspense and paranormal abilities that will hook you from the start. Fans of Wide Open by Deborah Coates and the Allie Beckstrom series by Devon Monk will enjoy Wanted: One Ghost by Loni Lynn.

Wanted: One Ghost is a fun, enjoyable, well-written fiction which is kind of goofy and filled with irony while mixing mystery, danger, angst, and the best of ghost stories and investigations. Growing up, I always loved a good ghost story. I remember quite a few nights staying up at night, afraid of the shadows in my closet after reading one of my many collections of ghost stories until a wee bit too late in the evening. To this day, I still collect ghost stories. In fact, collections of local legends and ghost stories are my equivalent of souvenirs on my travels. I can honestly say I've never read a ghost story quite like this one.

The story, though it is filled with danger and ghosts, frequently made me laugh. It sort of laughs at itself, never making too heavy on any subject, creating a perfect balance between amusement and tension. The book brings so many elements together. Anyone who's ever walked a ghost tour will love this book, I think. The author real brings the past to life in a way I think everyone who's ever gone on one of those tours wishes they could experience.

I, when I first read the blurb, thought James, as a loyalist, would be a hard character to relate to. Being a child raised on the righteousness of the Revolutionary War, I've always found it hard to imagine anyone decent as a loyalist. Still, I like how the author worded James's point of view. She used antiquated words and phrases while simultaneously allowing us to understand his meaning. And, what more, I actually found it funny how he related to patriots. She was somehow able to make light of his viewpoints while still getting across his stout beliefs as someone loyal to the Crown.

April and her family of loony female relatives were also well worth the read. All of them have special abilities, with each having varying levels of acceptance of said abilities. In the end, it leads to a realistic montage of personalities and quirks that work so well in the story, causing the embarrassments and conflicts apparent in any family. While they fight, argue, and tease, it is clear how much they care about each other.

Some twists I saw coming, others I did not. The final conflict at the end was both exhilarating and felt tragic at the time. Of course, that wasn't the end, now was it? After all, when you're dealing with the afterlife, what truly is? But, the book ended on a note I was satisfied with and all the conflicts were finalized to my edification. This author clearly knows her stuff with regard to writing but also to historical authenticity as there were quite a few things I looked up as I went, and everything fit with her usage of the terms. This is something I rarely seem to find. Reading on a tablet, I'm always fact-checking as it's only a couple of taps away, and it has become an obsession of mine, getting the details right.

I started the book some time this afternoon and finished it less than twelve hours later. Fast read. Very good book.

While Dr. April Branford may have wanted one ghost, she got far more when her psychometric abilities exhibited new and disturbing strengths.

What does that mean? Well, for one she brings the handsome, charismatic ghost of James Addison back to life. Then falls head over heels in love with him.

So did I. But I didn't have hot and very romantic sex with James.

April Branford does....lucky woman. But how long will he remain in this realm? He could return to his ghostly state at any time.

For the first third of this novel, I thought the book charming and delightful and then things changed. Real, albeit ghostly, dangers manifested themselves as April and James try to uncover proof of what happened 280 years before.

Now the book ratcheted up to a 'cannot put down, don't even think about doing so' status. So my advice is once you hit Chapter 10, stop, have a good night's sleep and make sure you have a dedicated 5 hours to read before you begin again. And if you are a slow reader, take the whole day.

I will not give away this fabulous ending. However, it possessed me, holding me captive without food for five hours, making me weep myself silly at times as I saw the inevitable ending play out. Then when I was utterly heartbroken, Loni found a realistic way to give me a fabulous ending.

The best ending I could have asked for.

Loni Lynne is a gifted writer, with the ability to take us back in time and bring history alive, while weaving a believable modern day ghost story in a creative and delightfully satisfying manner. I can only give this five stars, because that's all I have. It was perfection in all ways. In the future, I'll buy any book she writes.

You have to like this type of book, but I know the author and that kept me engaged. It's a well written story and a great story line. If you are a fan of Loni Lynne's stories, this one won't let you down. It took me such a long time to finish this book because this is not my genre. Reading something that you don't normally read can sometimes be dredgery. But this was a simple story and I was able to easily follow along because I have been to Alexandria, which is where, I assume, Kings Mill is near - somewhere in the Virginia landscape. I've actually been on a Ghost Tour in Ole Towne, so I had a little familiarity. The chapters are a bit long and tedious, but the character plays are great.

The mix between old (238 years ago) and new current-day 2012 worked well. I think the story lends itself into making you want to find out what happens next.

Thanks Loni, for a GoodRead!

By the way, don't let the 3 stars fool ya. I first make this as 5 stars. But then I thought, no book I have read has ever gotten a 5 star rating. Or only very few have. A 5 star rating to me is a book that I would pick up and read again. I've read John Grisham's King of Torts twice and I think I read Reginald F. Lewis' book entitled, "Why Should White Guys Have All The Fun," twice. Those would be 5 star books. So I examined what type of books get 4 stars. Books that I found immensely entertaining and that I found hard to put down. So in all fairness, I had to give Loni's book 3 stars. It's not the type of book I would normally read and I read it to the end, regardless of the length of time it took.

What a treat just in time for the Halloween season!

This book was mesmerizing! The astute manner in which the author blended historical and paranormal fiction with modern day intricacies made this an excellent read that I just couldn’t put down! The story line is captivating and the characters are divine. I couldn’t help but to think of “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” while reading this, as it’s one of my favorite classics. Of course, the relationship she had with her ghost is tepid, at most, compared to James and April’s steamy love affair.

This novel is much more than a ghost story with a romantic twist, though, it’s a mystery/thriller as well. A dark secret lurks in the shadows of the historic town, but bringing light on the subject could come at a cost. With the help of April’s hilarious relatives, she and James try to answer questions that no one alive knows.

Joseph Buchanan’s coined term “psychometry”—which means being able to see the past by touching an object- is utilized brilliantly and the author takes it to another level, catapulting this novel high above others in the same genres. I laughed, I cried, and unfortunately, I was up investigating everything that went “bump!” in the night. This is definitely a must read!

I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an unscripted and honest review.

Wanted: One Ghost was one of the fastest reads of my life. Not only because I was just able to download it, but because I'm a lover of a good ghost story.

Loni Lynne does not disappoint.

The ghost of James Addison is brought back to life when Dr. April Branford, historical researcher, is assigned to discover his past. Using her psychometric skills, she discovers a reason to doubt the conviction of Addison for treason.

Alone in a graveyard with her trusty pencil and paper, April readies herself to capture an inscription on a tombstone. Out of nowhere James Addison, a 200+ year-old ghost strikes up a conversation. Frightened and in complete denial, it takes time for her to realize that James Addison is not only a ghost, but her soul-mate, the one she is certain to remain with forever.

Together, April and James set out on a journey to discover the past and perhaps, James' innocence. But will James stay with April forever? Or will her heart be broken when he is finally able to put his past to rest?

The ending will capture your heart. Sweet and innocent, and full of heat, Ms Lynn has come up with a WONDERFUL ghost story, rife with compelling characters and dynamic challenges.

Wanted: One Ghost is a winner.

Psychometric abilities have always interested me. Taken from the Greek language for "spirit, soul" and is also referred to reading the history of an object just by the mere physical contact with it, the “science” of it is often thought of as a psychic ability.

In Loni Lynne's debut novel, Dr. April Brandord has psychometric skills and she was sent to research the falsely accused and executed James Addison’s history. WHO IS NOW A GHOST! Sigh... Did I say he was a sexy ghost??

This novel intrigued me to no end. I dare say you MUST block a chunk of time to read this little piece of delicious entertainment. You can tell Loni has put a lot of work researching and building her characters and the world they “Live” in. Her dedication to her craft shined through the book. She is gifted with the pen and the twists and curves that you experience with the extra ordinary couple will leave you BREATHLESS).

Loni, I tip my Nerd Girl hat to you!! I look forward to more of your written word in the future!

I have to admit that I really haven't read a ghost story in quite some time. However, I was greatly pleased when I picked up Loni Lynne's book. Her writing is simply fantastic! Wanted: One Ghost has a unique plot with a wonderful love story intertwined throughout.

Dr. April Branford was absolutely my favorite character in the book. I think her ability of psychometry is so cool, and it was so amusing that the members of her family also have really cool abilities. I don't want to give any spoilers away so I won't elaborate much, but you have to read this book!

I didn't think that I would enjoy reading a story with so many historical elements because I was never one for history, but Loni Lynne really proved me wrong. This story hooked me at the start and I literally could not put it down. It's a fast enjoyable read that will please any lover of paranormal romance.

I could not put this book down!

A debut novel, Wanted: One Ghost mixes history, romance, and the paranormal. From the start, the reader is drawn into the life of James Addison, a wealthy land owner turned ghost. For 200 years, he wanders the sight of his death until a woman with paranormal abilities is able to bring him back into the plane of the living, but only for a brief amount of time.

The entire novel is enchanting and intriguing, bringing to life a story of love and the mystery surrounding James' death.

I was entranced from beginning to end. Each sequence was described impeccably and the writing was sincere.

I also happen to live in the area the story takes place, so it was especially poignant to me!

A great, fast read that is sure to delight.

James Addison, what a devilishly charming hero. I loved his each and every scene in this book. Oh, I loved many other things as well like how the entire story felt like an adventure. Or how descriptively the scenes and history were done. April, the heroine, and her unique family of mother, aunt and grandma were all very entertaining characters. But James...he was something extraordinarily special and I'd recommend this wonderful book for him alone, even if there weren't all those other totally awesome reasons to recommend it. ;)

I received this as a first read. This is my first ghost romance book and this was a fun read. I really love the main character. I love the way that she reacts when she first realizes she sees ghost. I really like her hero also. He is a funny character who was introduced in a good way. I have a little bit of issue with the ending it was good ending but it ended so quickly. However, I will definitely read more of this author.

I can't wait to read more from this author. The history information was really detailed information that I didn't know about and enjoyed. I love the characters. If I read a book from start to finish it means the author did a great job. Would love to know more about April and James.

I loved the historical aspects of this beautiful love story. Actually a double love story. April has been tasked with finding out information about James Addison. A man who was hanged over two hundred years ago, but history doesn’t say why, even though he was a prominent member of the town back in the 1700’s. Her employer, Kenneth Miles is a descendant of James Addison on James’ sister’s side. April and all of the women in her family have an affinity for sensing or seeing ghosts, but April is about to find out she is special and is more powerful. When she goes on a tour of the historic site she meets the ghost of James Addison. And when she touches several historic spots she can literally see into the past, almost as if she is there. Then, several days later at James’ grave site, she accidentally brings him back to life. Now she has him to help her exonerate him and prove that he was murdered, but some other sinister ghost is trying to stop her and hurt her. Can her aunt, mom, grandmother, and James keep her safe, or will she be killed by this being. And what about her growing love for James. She doesn’t know how she brought him back to life or how long he will stay. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

The truth is that this reading was a surprise. I had no intention of starting it but something made me do it and then I couldn't disengage.

Although it is total fiction, the relationship of a ghost with a human sounds fun.

April has the power of psychometry but it is not until she reaches Kings Mills that she discovers the extent of its power.
James is a 200-year-old ghost who accidentally revives.
Here begins the path to find the truth about his death and rewrite the history of the town.

I liked how they fell in love, how they fought against all the ghosts of the past and how they managed to make their love cross the barrier of time and space.

No words to describe this incredible book

April has a gift although at first she didn't know what her gift entailed or if she even had it, but James found her and together they learned that you need to believe in fate to make things right.

My heart was so invested in these characters that I truly didn't want it to end. My heart broke for them both and rejoiced when things would go their way. This is not my normal genre, I've never really delved into paranormal, however, Loni write an incredible story and it completely wrapped me in warmth, love and hope.

Can't wait to read more!

This story was great - very entertaining. I would read more by this author, who I was happy to meet during a local authors event at our library. However, I would recommend a better proofreader on her next work. A lesser story would not have survived with this number of errors, but because the story was so good, I read the whole thing, and I'm glad I did!

Do you believe in fate?
A wonderful story of a young woman, April Branford who lives history and was hired to do research on James Addison. Unbeknownst to her, James is a ghost unable to move on after 238 years stuck. The women in Aprils family have the insight to see ghost, communicate with them.
This was an amazing story and I recommend it.

***This book was provided by the publisher/author to Nerd Girl Official for an honest review***

This novel truly intrigued me. I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but that quickly subsided. With the perfect combination of mystery, suspense, and paranormal romance this writer completely captivated me. You can tell she really did her research to stay true to the reality of the concept.

The author takes you on a paranormal journey following main characters Dr. April Branford and James Addison. James has been dead for over two hundred years. He was executed for treason. Now Dr. April Branford has been hired to find out if a certain piece of property was actually owned by his forebears. Sadly she doesn't have much luck and after some events she realizes she can see ghosts. Apparently it is a power all the ladies in her family posses and something April had dreaded to be true. Through the the story April and James work together to discover who truly owns the Mill property and exactly why James was accused of treason and executed in the first place.

I feel I have already said to much. You need to experience this for yourself. Especially the chemistry between April and James. Loni did an incredible job. She wrote one amazing page turner. I could NOT put this book down and I can NOT wait to read more! I highly recommend this book for ALL paranormal lovers!! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Do you believe in Fate? Do you believe in Ghost? Do you believe in Psychometry? Do you believe a Chatelaine could help solve a 180 year old Mystery? And do you believe in Love at First Sight?
Well you will after reading this book. Loni Lynne wrote the best history lesson ever. I wish my history books back in school read like this book. Maybe I would of paid more attention. She brought to life two different time periods and wove them together. She had me believing that the history was real enough to look it up to get more information. She had me HOOKED!
My favorite line out of the whole book had me laughing so hard, " I ended up being the one to show her how to dress a cucumber! Said Gram Dottie". Loni put some comedy in here and there, and it was just enough to through you a curve ball. I was in awe, I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat and I cried. Full of surprises, especially the ending, old world meets new world sex, clothes, manners and so on. This book will not dull your senses that's for sure. So to find out what my favorite part was and how fate, ghosts, psychometry and a chatelaine are all tied together, You will just have to read the book!
