What story of brotherhood!

Jake Coleman helped Diego Santiago one night in an uneven fight. Fate stepped in that night. His life was changed forever. Jake never had much of a family. His best friend was killed in Afghanistan while they preserving in the army. After this night he finds the way of life he was born for. He finds the bond of brotherhood and what it truly means. This is definitely a journey worth taking. This is not a story of romance, though it is there too. Very hot! This is a story story of trust, earned and given. Bonds that can't be broken and a deep conviction of dedication to a brotherhood. Something way beyond blood.
M.C. I am my Brothers Keeper is a great read. I was so drawn into this story that it was mesmerizing. I am a fan and can't wait for the next one.
C. J. Shane great job and thank you for your hard work. Not many authors can draw you into the story so deeply.

The Life Of Brotherhood!!!
By TSimons - May 1, 2015
This is a debut book!...Really???? If the Author had not put that in his bio I would not have believed this to be his first book. I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E!!!
This is an in-depth look at the brotherhood, the author has captured the MC life so accurately this story is intense and brutal, and he gives us a highly charged story. I could not put this book down it’s a page turner and I kept turning the pages until there were no more to go. The story of Jack and how he meets Diego and gets pulled into the life and never let’s go. The story flows so smoothly you feel like your right there
In the story alongside of Jack in his journey to being a brother, and at what costs get you there. This is a story of brotherhood with a side of romance. You learn the true meaning of LL&R of an MC brotherhood. I look forward to the next book from the Author, as he can tell a story.

(Rated mature for violence, language, and adult themes)

3 1/2 stars! If you like Sons of Anarchy, you will love this book! This book offers a wild ride through the world of a motor cycle club and their way of life. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way that keep you guessing.

I think the voice and tone of the story is right on. The biggest issue I have is with the multiple perspectives. It bothers me when authors switch back and forth between 1st and 3rd person. It just confuses me. However, I love the fast pace of the book. It is definitely a page turner! I would have loved to see more depth in the main characters, too. For a debut, this book is impressive. I can only assume that Jake's story is far from over. Looking forward to finding out more about Jake Coleman and the Los Patrons.

I have read a lot of MC books, far too many than I should probably own up to. All except this one are written by women and many fall into the erotica space. This book is different. Not different in a bad way. This first time author has uses a lifetime of experiences to produce a gritty novel that in some respects is probably more true to life than the nonfiction that has consumed me. It's well written, the story is balanced. At times it may be a little wordy but I liked it. I liked it that much I was reading at 5am. According to my app I have about 13% left to read and I'm worried that I will have to wait to finish this story. I don't like waiting... ever. So if you haven't experienced the world of C J McShane do yourself a favor and buy it today.

Oh my....wow...what to say about this book. It was amazing. I was completely gripped from start to finish. This isn't your typical Mc series it's real and compelling from start to finish. Although sex and luv are part of it its more about the brotherhood in an Mc than anything else.
The ending came far to quickly for my liking and I can only hope there is another book soon.
Absolutely a must read.

Read this book in 5 hours, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! The Author draws you into a world of chaos, love, and brotherhood which the MC lives by. As you plummet deep into Jakes life, you are held in suspense at the upcoming events that mold Jake into the Brother that he has become. Really looking forward to the next book. Thanks for the great read!

This only took me so long to read because I left in a car :s oops lol but if I hadn't i wouldn't have been able to put it down!
It was an easy read but in a good way! I am a huge fan of S.O.A and I've read the book written by Sonny Barger of the Hells Angels so I dare to be cheeky and say I know a little bit about the MC lifestyle, this book surprisingly came across with more reality to it. The story felt more relatable, less overdramatised but it sure was packed with the action! It had a sweet lil romance to it amongst the main theme of brotherhood and family. What I love most about the rules of the clubs and the brotherhood, is the loyalty, knowing you've got someone at your back no matter what, and that If anyone does you wrong- revenge will be dealt!
I love how Jake Coleman ( special love as Coleman is a name in my family ) grows from a loner to a Brother, how he finds acceptance just being true to himself. I love the community spirit the Los Patrons have as they get involved in charity work, that bought a tear to the eye, it's not all rough and tough, there's big hearts there too! I had no idea where the story was going, and I didnt want to guess as I didn't want it end, but when I got there ... It was shocking. But I loved it!
Highly recommended to anyone even if you don't know anything about the life or aren't interested, read it and learn some things! You'll be pleasantly surprised ;) x

For this book 5 stars CERTAINLY aren't enough !!!
I was recommended this book by a friend as i'm a huge fan of MC books, and i'm so glad they did recommend it to me !! It was really amazing and insightful too. I think one of the things i enjoyed most about this book is the fact that it's based on real events. It showed the softer/kinder side of the bikers known as 1-%ers too not the side that is predominantly showcased on the news. I was hooked from the start seeing how Jake came to meet the Los Patrons, how he was treated by them and then following his journey from being a "Prospect" to a fully patched member really was informative. I absolutely LOVED this and really do hope that there will be a book 2 !!

WOW!!!!!! Just about covers it. It is hard to believe that this is this authors first book. This author has some real talent in telling a story. It sucked me in from the first page and I didn't put it down till I reached the last page. Then it left me wanting to know more about all the guys in the MC ..now!!!! That is how caught up in the story you get. This book flows so smoothly...the action...the surprises...the twist...it makes you feel like your right there with Jake as he travels the road his life takes. This isn't a love story it's a brotherhood story with a little romance on the side. Congratulations Mr McShane you wrote a fantastic book and I can't wait for the next one.

I haven't read a book since high school and that was well, quite a long time ago! My wife kept bugging me to read it and so finally I caved. I read this book in two days! It was a fast paced book which was exciting to read. I truly didn't want to put it down. The content was very edgy and there was never a dull moment in the book. I wish that McShane would've helped me get to know more about the characters though. I would've liked to know more about Jake's history but that's my only complaint. I really enjoyed the book and honestly, can't wait for the next one to come out.

Reading about Jake and Los Patrons you have a sense of respect for them! They took care of their brothers! What everyone did for little Antonio ohhhh that just melted my heart as well! I'm the beginning I was little iffy on the triangle situation but I'm glad that worked out the way that it did! I need more! I need to know what is going on with everyone!
Good job on your first book Mr. McShane, I enjoyed it!

I read this book in two days because I just could not put it down! This book had so many ups and downs, it kept me surprised the whole way. I both laughed and cried. The author drew me into the life of Jake Coleman and by the time I reached the end of the book, I wanted more. I truly hope that this author writes a sequel! This is a MUST READ!

This was not a typical book for me to read but it came highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the newfound knowledge that I have about motorcycle clubs and the lives they lead. Surely enlightened me when the activity in Waco hit the news. The book is well written, easy to read but hard to out down until you finish. I give it a 5 Star!

WOW

So this is a debut book?? I honestly don't know where to start! I guess it started when someone posted their top 2015 reads and I saw this book listed. I had never heard of this author and was curious to read it. It feel so real and authentic. This book was well constructed and well written. It is different from any other book I have read and it's one of those books that stays with you, it's one you can't get enough of. Don't let the title or cover dissuade you from not reading this powerful story of love, honor, respect, commitment and most importantly FAMILY. It is a heartfelt journey of a veteran finding his way back to life, love and living. It portrays great detail of an MC and evokes so many emotions when read. I look forward to not only highly recommending this book but to reading the next one. 5 out of 5 stars. If I could give it more, I would!

Felt so real

This book had buzzed around the indie community I am in and I got it. I could not put it down! It was the most realistic book I've read. It played out like a movie in my mind, cover to cover. I hope the second one comes along super soon! Great job!

This is a great book about love and loyalty. Sometimes a brotherly love is beyond blood and thick than water. This was a great and touching story for me. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Very well researched

If you ride and are considering joining an MC, you need to read this and understand it. Even if you aren't joining a 1% club, the principles of brotherhood are still there.

Not typical of the books in this genre. That being said I will admit I truly loved this book. The way the author describes the characters and surroundings make you feel as if you are right there sharing the absolute disappointment of betrayal, the compassion of helping strangers that are forced into a heartbreaking situation and the joy and sorrow of dealing with life in general. Refreshing was a female character that was smart, strong and didn't back down to pressures and threats presented to her yet still remained feminine and was not belittled by those around her. My heart was heavy while reading some parts and the tears flowed freely in others. I am always looking for new authors to read and am pleased I found him. I hope there will be more books in the future.

I was looking for a new book to read when I came across this book. Once I read the summary I instantly bought it. I've read so many MC based books but this one stands out from the rest. As a reader who grew up/lives in the biker world this book has alot of knowledge that can't be researched & retold the way he does. It has a real life edge to it. So much that you find yourself wondering if certain situations throughout the book actually happened in real life. The way C.J. wrote the scene about what Diego did to the 3 that were sent to kill him in the beginning was.... (I can't even describe) but... WOW!

I loved it & I can't wait for C.J. McShane's next book.

A peek behind the curtain

C.J. McShane gives the reader a pass into a world that the average motorcycle enthusiast can only speculate and wonder about. It is a tale of brotherhood within a unique unit of society where membership comes at a price that most are incapable of paying. It is a world where loyalty is a two way street and dishonor is not forgiven.

This was a very fast paced, quick read. I was surprised that it was fiction as it read more like an autobiography or biography. I enjoyed reading it however I think it could have been much more detailed and therefore longer. The ending was frustrating and I'm guessing, or maybe hoping, there will be another book to follow this one.

True Brotherhood!

Forget the stereotypical biker or biker "gang" and enjoy this book. This is about the connection of brothers and brotherhood. When Jake saves a man, who happens to be in a biker club, he embarks on a journey of commitment and service to his new brothers. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. McShane writes a great book and I highly recommend it. It's edgy and raw, very gritty!
