Originally from the boogie down Bronx, now a Floridian. Married 22 years to the man of my dreams! Two wonderful sons. This will be my first novel! Yikes
My score really is 4.5 stars for this second book of Natals. I'm not very good at reviews, but the blurb hits it perfectly.
Whilst I suppose this is technically the second in the series after 'Tormented', Bound by Grace can stand alone in its own right. Brock was in love with another woman, Yasmine, but she married another. Grace happens to be the little sister of the man Yasmine married!
Both Brock and Grace are dealing with their own demons, Brock from PTSD, Grace from a drug-fuelled abusive relationship. Damaged by life, both have their issues with trust and communication.
To say that the two clash at the start would be an understatement, but I loved the banter and repartee between the two. It does not get tiring, because as the story develops, so does the dialogue. I can't say that the main characters 'changed' for one another; when this happens it often feels contrived, but they did adapt their own particular brand of real, human love to their situation.
The storyline is not overly complex, and is well-thought through. The ending might not be to everyone's taste, but raised a cheer from me, nonetheless!
Thanks Mia for sharing your story - they are always a pleasure to read.
I was given the honor of beta reading Bound By Grace by Author Mia Natal. This is the first book that I have read by her and all I can say is…it definitely won’t be the last! I am now searching my kindle for her other books...yes it was that good.
First of all, the title is a perfect match to the book. Secondly I couldn’t help but fall in love with these characters. I was cheering Grace and Brock on the whole time. As for the other characters in the book, I was just as attached. The book was easy to follow and had a great story line. The passion was off the charts!! This book had me going through all kinds of emotions and I just love stories that do that. I felt the pain, happiness, sorrow, guilt, passion, kindness…I could go on and on but you get my point.
I am so thankful to have read this book as it was awesome! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with a great story line and hot passion. This book gets 5***** from this reviewer all the way around.
Bound by Grace by Mia Natal is a book that will grab you and when it does you need to hold on because when those pages begin to turn they will do so, so fast you will not know what happened. But you will enjoy every moment of that bumpy ride. Grace has a troubled past that is always with her. Brock is an ex-Marine/restaurant owner has his own ghosts haunting him. They are brought together when they both needed someone the most. But their meeting was not a great start. It took time but before long they became friends and then love finally creeped in. The love scenes are WOW! This book is a book with some steam and a romantic twist. This is a book that is a must read. You'll love it, I know I did. I gave this book 5 stars but wish I could've given it more. It would make a good gift for a friend. It would look great on your bookshelf. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I look for more from Mia Natal
I fell hard for Brock and Grace. I came to genuinely like these characters as the story unfolded. Especially Brock! A sexy as sin hunk with a bad-boy exterior which hides a heart of gold and a deep-seated code of honor. The last thing on his mind is being in a relationship with any woman. But connecting with Grace again, the girl he had long thought of as "trouble", changes all of that.
This is a sweet romance with enough steamy bedroom scenes to hold anyone's attention. The day-to-day interactions and situations between the two primary characters is an interesting look into urban life in America. The author created richly illuminated secondary characters which add interest to the story. The sexy best friend who lives with Grace, the over protective big-brother with the new baby, the former comrade in arms who is also a very sexy lady and makes Grace feel insecure, and of course, the vile ex-boyfriend determined to make Grace's life a living hell while he attempts to forcibly drag her under his thumb again. The author weaves these characters and situations together to give the tale a complete feeling.
As was the case with "A Heart for Rebel", Mia Natal writes a strong female lead that's just human enough to make mistakes and errors in judgment that cause conflict in the story. Brock brings his own issues into the mix with helps bump up the level of angst on both sides. The vile ex-boyfriend lends the tale an element of danger and violent action that will rivet you to the story because you "need" to know the outcome.
I received a copy of "Bound By Grace" free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I can easily and honest recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a contemporary romance with sizzle, angst and an element of danger. This love story has "issues" the primary characters must overcome, but they are not so heavy as to weigh the reader down. Instead, you can silently cheer for their triumphs, large and small. "Bound by Grace" is a nice, solid story and I look forward to reading about Mike and Zeveah in Mia's next book.
I was given an advance copy for an honest review. I LOVE the characters! Ms. Natal brings them to life with such detail, it is easy to feel as though they are life long friends! The story moves so quickly that it was almost impossible to put the book down~ I ended up losing sleep because I HAD to find out what happened next! Bound By Grace provides everything for the reader. Suspense, romance, and eroticism are all drafted into an every day story that hits home, and the reader is provided a glimpse of life on the edge. All in all it is a fast read that touches all emotions. You will want to laugh out loud on one page and cry on the next. And in the end, well, you will just have to find out for yourself. I can't wait for the next book!
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. This is book 2 of a series and while you don’t have to read the first to understand it there were points where I felt lost for not having read book 1, Tormented. I very much enjoyed the story of a young rock frontwoman and a restaurant owner/former military man. It seemed to move fast but I think two people who come from those environments live that way by nature so it flowed very naturally for me. They go from hating one another to needing one another in a short period of time. It often felt like the two characters existed in their own world which gave me a better grasp of who they were as characters.
