The Hart Family #5

Missing Hart

Rate this book
My life has been built on a mountain of secrets, lies and half truths. For a long time I wasn't able to let anyone get close to me. But then I met my Prince Charming. The man who saved me from myself, who showed me what true love was. If only I'd been honest. If only I'd been stronger. If only I could forget. I've missed him every single day for four years, and nobody who means anything to me even knows he existed in my world. Now the part of my life that I've kept secret has collided head on with the life I built to survive the destruction of my heart. He's back- and this time, we can't avoid each other.

The love story of Dominique Hart and Dillon Cooper has never been easy, but that doesn't make it any less real. Not everyone has an easy journey on the way to love, but sometimes, that makes getting there that much more meaningful.

I lost something precious that I can never, ever get back."
"Something, or someone?"
"Both," I whispered.

HOLY GEEZ!!! Ella Fox, you have 100%, without a doubt, outdone yourself this time with this book. I have been hooked on this series since the very beginning, but this story took the series to a whole other level. WOW!! Bravo!!!

This will be the easiest review I have ever written, because words are just pouring out of me, my problem might be shutting up.

If you've been keeping up with the series and the spinoff series 'Renegade Saints', you know that the Hart/Cross family has just discovered new additions to their family, Dillon, Leah, and Flynn. If you haven't been reading this series, get on it NOW. At the end of Flynn's story we discovered that Dominique and Dillon know each other, but weren't giving any details of how. This is their story.

Unfortunately their story isn't a fairytale...

The story begins with Dillon on one of many dates that he already knows is going nowhere, she turns out to be a total bitch, but he goes home with her anyway. Once home, he's a little disgusted with himself and lays down only to take another trip down memory lane, like he does all to often, and the trip down that lane is quiet a painful one.

Dillon

Dillon was once married to Marissa. Him and his sister had met Marissa in foster care and they had been together ever since. Even though him and Leah had had painful childhoods they nowhere near compared to Marissa's. Once older him and Marissa married, but it wasn't your typical marriage. Marissa couldn't be touched, but needed some sort of resemblance of normalcy. He gave her that, even though it was a huge sacrifice, he was so used to taking care of Leah and Marissa, he never blinked when she asked him. They had been living this way for several years when Marissa started getting close to a girl.

Dominique and Delilah

Dominique and Marissa had a connection. A connection Dominique clung to because she had never been able to talk about what had happened to her with anyone else. Dillon was overjoyed because Marissa tended to not get close to anyone. This is how Dillon met Dominique. The instant they meet, they both felt something, but neither acted on it because of Marissa. Over time, they all became extremely close, but a tragic encounter makes Marissa check out, and after weeks of being shut off she eventually checks out in a more permanent way.

This was the first of many times in this book that tears were coming out of my eyes so fast I couldn't even see to read, and I put that out there, because it normally takes a lot to make me cry in books, but I felt like I cried so much in this book. It was that powerful.

Dominique becomes the rock for Dillon and Leah, and after a while, Dillon and Dominique finally admit their feelings for each other. They start the most beautiful relationship and even begin planning for their future.

"I'm happy too. Sitting on this lawn with you right now will be on the highlight reel that I get at the end of my life. How I feel about you scares the hell out of me, but I wouldn't change that for the world."

The problem is, Marissa had told Dillon along time ago a slight lie about Dominique that had never came out. Dominique had had plenty of chances to tell him the truth but had found a reason not to every time. That's the thing with lies, they always come out, and this one had been one like a time bomb waiting to happen. When Dillon finds out, he completely flips on Dominique without even letting her really explain. He firmly believes that everything between them had been a lie. He kicks her out of his house and his life. Dominique is shattered and goes through a huge depression that worries her family, but she is given some hope to hold onto, until that too is stripped away from her. Her world comes crashing down even harder and for years she is really just a shell of herself. This being the second time, I cry my eyes out during this book.

"You cry in your sleep every night like you soul is dying and it isn't because of the accident."

Dominique realizes she has ultimately lost the only man she will ever love because she wasn't honest. So she disconnects from everything for a while. Over time she becomes somewhat better but that hole never completely closes. Her and Leah still are best friends and after a tragic situation happens, Dominique realizes she needs to do something to help Leah reconnect, so she takes her out to a gay bar, knowing they can both have fun, without the pressures of men hitting on them. Little did she know, that she would find one woman attractive. This is how she meets Tally.

Tally

Overtime, they start a relationship, but she knows she will never love Tally the way she should but ends up giving in and letting people believe things that aren't true, just to spare her family and Tally's feelings.

Okay...I think I've spilled enough now, because much more and spoilers will start slipping.

The characters in this book and the storyline was beyond any expectations I had. I will admit, I've read plenty of menages, and threesomes, and even a few scenes of m/m in books. But I was nervous about a f/f scene. I will admit, it didn't really bother me, it wasn't overdone. The scenes between Dillon and Dominique were amazingly hot, especially a ...surprise scene I really didn't see coming. Even though I've been plenty pissed with Dillon for giving up so easily on Dominique and at least not hearing her out, prior to that I was madly in love with him. OMG, he was so sweet and understanding. But the thing with this story is it showed that nothing was as it had seemed in the previous stories. Tally came across so likeable in the other books, but now.....

I'm left today reeling. I wonder about those letters. I also, obviously am wondering about what comes next seeing the way things ended. I worry How will her family, namely her brothers, react when the truth comes out?? Will the truth come out while the girls are in the situation that they are in and Dillon has no choice but to tell them?? Oh so many questions....

This book was amazing. I don't know any other way to describe it. I had no intention of sitting down and reading this all in one night, but once I started I couldn't stop. This story was heartbreaking. From Dominique's past, Marissa's death, the downfall of Dominique and Dillon's relationship, and the struggles Dominique suffers afterward I could have cried the whole book. I was hooked. I love Leah and hope she gets her own story, she has a lot to overcome herself, but mostly I need the next book for Dominique and Dillon. YES, peeps, this one has a cliffhanger and I'm literally hanging by my fingertips for the next one. OMG, I can't wait. HAVE TISSUES READY!!

Ella Fox, you big freaking meanie pants!!! That cliffhanger! Argh!
How could you do this to me!!
description

Okay, first off, this was my favourite of the Hart family books, it was freaking FANTASTIC, that plot was amazing, the characters, you know I just love them.
description

Ella Fox is my single favourite author, because every single book is awesome, I haven't read a single one that I thought:

description

Okay, so anyway....This is about Dominique and Dillon, the first half of the book had me in tears literally all the way through going over the death of his wife:

description

When he confronts Dominique over her lies, and he goes batshit crazy, I really wished he would have just listened to her, he did what all men do, and made stuff up in his head, worked himself up and ruined her life.
description

I liked her relationship with Delilah in this book, when Delilah finally got through to Dominique, I finally breathed a sigh of relief that she had someone.

description

Then when she was with Tilly....HOLY SHIT!! I was NOT expecting that what so ever

description

She was a complete fucking bitch! Kick that hoe to the curb! I wouldn't have even hesitated, emotional abuse leads to physical abuse. Showed all the signs of a crazy mother fucker. Plus the past abuse that noone else knows about, she should have run for the hills!

description

Then when she finally saw sense and Dillon actually listened to Dominique - 4 Years too late in my opinion, but I'll go with it...

description

I hope that Dillon forgives her for not showing up at his house after what happens in the cliffhanger

description

Now, on with my contemplation of life and the universe

Fuck. I mean... Fuck.

The Hart Family series got me hooked and I love it, and since my favorite was Loving Hart, I was not waiting on that to change, bang! It did.

I LOVED Missing Hart and Dillon is definitely my favorite character, now I don't know how I'll hang patiently until Finding Hart comes out.

The sex in this book? Damn, I had to pause and breathe.

The ending? Let's put it this way: the only reason I didn't go batshit crazy is because I KNOW Ella is going to make it up for us for leaving us hanging like that. She is going to give us a fantastic closure, she doesn't want to be murdered by a horde of annoyed fans (lol).

Dillon, Dillon, Dillon...

I had to wait to write this little review because I had to give my brain some time to process the end, but regardless, I still loved the book, again, my favorite so far!

Just the knowledge that hell is going to break loose on the next book got me jumping all over the place!!

Ah, heck, the wait...

TO BE CONTINUED ........

I have to first say I am a little disappointed Ella in the fact you are making us wait for the conclusion. :(. I think I could have just kept on reading and reading and reading some more. In my opinion, this is the best book of the series so far and I have absolutely loved everyone of the Hart Family Series books.

Dominique and Dillon's story is so touching and emotional. I literally had tears for most of the book. I didn't understand the impact of how emotionally connected I was going to become to the characters until you just abruptly ended the book......grrrrrrr. Tremendous writing !!!!

Dominique had some explaining to do about her behavior in the previous books and you explained them all. She was always he one that was kind of in the shadows looking in at everyone else. Now I understand why. She has a lot of explaining to do with her family and it breaks my heart to know how Dante, Damien, and Spencer are going to react to the news. I can actually feel them blaming themselves for letting her down and it tears me apart.

Dillon I think I fell more in love with him for the way he handled his marriage. It takes one heck of a man to do the things that he did and not have any regret.

AMAZING STORY LINE !!!!! Keep them coming.

Now, get busy on the next one !!!! Hehe

Really? I am truly disappointed in this book and the direction Miss Fox is heading in. I don't think that this is a spoiler so don't jump all over me, but the cliff hanger just annoyed the hell out of me. Why are so many authors taking this route? All I want is to read a FULL book with an actual ending. I actually read the WHOLE entire book while I was waiting at the doctors office. I may read fast but this book was incredibly short for the quality. I did like Dillion but the lies really knocked down my rating and opinion since the book literally ends a couple pages later with angst and omissions still there. Dominique was exactly her age, childish and stuck in her fantasy. The truth does indeed set you free.*Sigh!*

Will write my review and rate it when I have finished the whole box set. I want to review and rate them all together since for me each book is a part of the other and if you read the first one, you have to read them all to get the whole story for all the characters.

I really hate a cliffhanger, but I'll forgive Ella Fox, because I loved this one as much as I loved Broken Hart. This series has had it's ups and downs for me, and I was worried that nothing was ever going to live up to the first book, but for me, this did.

I loved Dillion and Dominique's story. I fell in love right along with them, and cried as they fell apart. I have to admit, when I read that this was going to be Dominique and Dillion's book, I was annoyed. Dominique was a lesbian, and I liked Talley. I was convinced that the was no way I could get behind this kind of shift in the story, but boy was I wrong. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the whole thing worked for me. For me, this was Ella Fox doing what she does best - an engaging mix of passion, love, and drama that sucks you in and doesn't let you go until the last page (and in this case, even after the last page).

This does end in a cliffhanger, which is new for the series, and I will admit, I would rather have had the whole story, but it doesn't end in a teeth gnashing, hair pulling kind of cliffy. I will however be marking my calendar for the second book.

WHAT??? NOoOoOoo!!!
It can't end like that... At 98% I kept thinking how is there enough pages for it to end well? And yes it is a cliffy. Out of all the Hart men I think Dillon is my least favourite... he was as the title suggest: missing for half the book!!! I do feel sorry for all the women in his life though. For an Ella Fox book this one wasn't as steamy as the others but there was a loads of moments in the book where I was on the verge of tears.

UGH! I wanted to know what was going to happen with Dominique and Dillon!!! After reading Picture Perfect, I wanted to know what led to Dominique and Dillon's ending. I was SOOOOO excited when this book came out that I made sure to log onto Amazon.com and purchase it right at midnight. This book is such a let down for me because it lacked the hot, steamy sex scenes the previous books had, AND most of the book was just Dominique's POV from the previous books.

When I got to the end, I was pissed off!!! The readers had no idea wtf happened to Tally in the previous books, but out of nowhere ...

What I don't get is how Dominique is so secretive about EVERYTHING. Doesn't she know the saying, "The truth shall set you free!" the fact that..

This one ended in a cliffhanger! I'm NOT the biggest fan of cliffhangers if I have to wait a long length of time for the sequel. Luckily the next book is already out so getting right on it. But this story felt all over the place at times. Out of the Hart Family series I will say this is my least favorite.

It started off well. But very sad & heartbreaking with everything going on with Marissa. I felt like she was a very sweet character. She was a kind person who meant well. But her view of life and view of herself was distorted and completely damaged from what her father had done to her growing up. As a result she intentionally ended her life too soon.

Then it shifts to Dillion & Dominique falling for each other. And I love Dillion. But omg they were too sticky sweet!

Don't get me wrong I love romance & lovey dovey stuff as much as the next person. But I can only take so much flowery words and cheesy lines until I started laughing about it.

Dillion crossed that line fairly quickly. At first it feels like their love is so powerful & unbreakable like a runaway train that cannot be stopped except by its own force.

And then shit hits the fan bigtime! Dillion is a contractor and ends up doing some work at the high school Dominique is going to. He pieces it together figures out she's been lying to him the whole time about being in college and being older than she actually is. It was really Marissa's thing to begin with. She was the one that didn't want to reveal that Dominique was still a high schooler when she first introduced him to her. I don't blame him at that point for assuming conclusions thinking she's just a teenager, maybe even a minor? That's been playing him. But in actuality he couldn't be farther from the truth.

Needless to say this is when I felt the story started scrambling everywhere. I liked Dominique a lot. But i got so annoyed with her never confessing up anything that happened to her. Not even to her twin Delilah. She kept everything bottled up, basically suffering alone over Dillion and the lost of their baby that she miscarried.

She continuously kept all this in until she meets Tally. I don't think Dominique is into women. Yes she dated tally, & they did the stuff they did and I could've done without those F/F scenes being described. lol! But her heart was always with Dillion. I think she just felt like playing it safe. Maybe didn't wanna get hurt by another man. And figured that was what she should do at that point.

I never liked Tally from the get go. And I have a feeling she had some ulterior motive or some secret thing she's hiding underlining everything. I have a feeling that she's somehow in cahoots with Spencer's parents. She clearly is jealous of the Hart Family and wants to bring them down.

Towards the end I just felt like it was cutting it very close and it really felt rushed bringing Dillion back in the fold. Its like half of the book after they break up he's pretty much non existent. And you get no POVs from him like it was in the first half of the book. And then at the very end. BOOM! He's back and its like he's the same but not as cheesy anymore. He almost seemed like he had some dominant qualities come through towards the ending.

Giving this 3 stars for dragging me all over the place lol

It was 4:09am here on the west coast, when I finished Missing Hart for some reason every time I read one of Fox's book I cant put them down.. Reading some of the reviews didn't do it justice for this book, See I love Fox's style of writing she takes you from how they started to where they are at that moment, so your not lost in their story... Especially in the Hart family character what happened in their past reflect on how they are as a person or their future... Dominique was nothing like I imagined, in all the other Hart book when the family was around she was very quiet or she would be leaving just like in this book her family is not around as much as the Coopers... Once you get to know her Dominique is not so different from the rest of the Hart clan her morals are just as big as the rest of them and her main priority is to protect the ones she loves and she demonstrates that to with the Coopers and The Harts... Since she was a little girl Dominique has a secret and hides it from her brothers and sister and I understand why she does not want to voice it even after, because of this secret she gets really close to the Cooper Family.. When she becomes close to Marissa she is introduced to Dillion and Leah...
Dillion! Dillion, Dillion he reminds me of Dante, Dillion has grown up very differently then the Harts but even though it was different he still experience heart ache and the only people that he loves are Leah, Marissa and now Minnie(Dominique)... When Dillon and Minnie meet sparks fly, both of them never really voice their feeling to respect Marissa... When tragedy hits the Cooper family Dominique takes over taking care of them, Minnie helps Dillion grieve and their relationship grows into something very beautiful... Dillion and Minnie relationship is like teenage love for both of them I believe that things that happen in their relationship help them believe that is a solid relationship then kiddie love...
We know that in the last two book Dominique is with Tally but how that came to happened we come to understand in this book.. I was fine with Dominique being gay and I like tally, in the last two books we saw a nice tally but in this book I feel like tally pushes herself on to Dominique and she's a bitch I did not like how she would talk shit about Dominique family and they we're so excepting of her ... The way the book ended I feel like we're going to be very surprised on who tally really is
The only thing is that I didn't like is when it was getting good the book was over and the freaking cliffhanger she left us with.... its okay I can forgive her, I love this series it one of the intriguing family I have ever read, Each character is unique and their lives and so intertwined that It crazy how it becomes so real.. In cant wait for the next book I'm so happy that it involves the twins there so in sync with each other (sometimes) and I want to know what happens when Dominique tells her the truth because I believe that it's going to bring them a lot closer as sister and best friends ... I didn't believe spencer mom would leave them alone or satisfied with the outcome In Spencer and Dahlias book...

~~~Huge Spoiler Alert~~~
Am I seriously the only one who had a problem with this book? Please don't read my review if you plan on reading the book. I'm going to give you the ridiculous breakdown of both Missing Hart and Finding Hart.
It's read in both POV's. It's about a guy who ends up marrying his best friend even though they never consummate the marriage because she was constantly brutally raped by her father when she was younger. He ends up falling for this other girl who's friends with his wife (but he does nothing about it because he's being faithful even though his wife doesn't care if he strays) and also happens to have been molested by her "father (who she later finds out is not her real father)". When his wife's father gets out of jail and tries to take her, the husband (Dillon by the way) kicks the father's butt until the cops arrest the dad. Are you still with me? Yes? OK....
The wife can't take it anymore so she jumps in front of a bus and kills herself. He then starts dating the friend in which fall madly in love...But wait.....He finally sleeps with her on her "20th" birthday and they keep on afterwards. They end up having sex one day and he doesn't use a condom. The next day, he finds out she's actually 18 and a high school girl. So he leaves her for 4 years. In the 4 years time, she tries to keep apologizing to him but he's not hearing it. She finds out she's preggers and when she tries to tell him, she gets into a car accident and loses the baby. She ends up going thru depression and almost committing suicide until her sister finds out and tells her not to. Her best friend, who is also Dillon's sister ends up getting brutally raped by her ex boyfriend (who's also a serial rapist)(do you see the raping pattern going on here) so she calls the brother and still they don't get back together. So she then turns into a lesbian for 3 years with this woman who later in the book ends up trying to kill her, her pregnant sister, and even later in the book, Dillon and Dillon's sister aka best friend (but that's later and in different intervals)(the lesbian killer woman is in cahoots with the sister's husband's mother). Still with me??????
After 4 years apart she finds out that her father isn't really her father and that her brother's aren't really her brothers but Dillon and his sister aka best friend's actual brothers. So now they see each other again with the "shocking' news and fall right back into love. Right when she's going to tell him about the baby, her ex lesbian lover and sister's crazy mother n law kidnaps her and her preggers sister for ransom. After being held captive for a couple days, they are found and the crazy mother killed. Then the ex lesbian lover excapes but comes back at the end of the book after they finally confess everything and have makeup sex. She just shows up in the bedroom with a gun. He gets shot in the shoulder after the ex crazy lesbian lover says she's taking her girl back since they belong together. The girl ends up killing the crazy ex lesbian lover and yada yada yada......And they all live happily ever after
Loving Hart is Dominique and Dillion's story it's filled with a lot of drama and angst. It is written in dual POV bit slightly different to the others, we see a little of what is happening 'now' then go back and start in the past before coming up to date. This book is jam packed with drama and has a repeat of the very beginning of the series in parts.
Dillion is just like the Hart men, he has had a hard life and he is very protective of not only his sister Leah but also Marissa. Marissa is a girl they met in a foster home, Dillion's and Leah look out for her and both love her like a sister. After leaving foster homes Marissa wants some normalcy in her life and asks Dillion's to marry her, Dillion would do anything for her and while they don't have the traditional marriage Dillion still stays faithful to Marissa.
Dominique has secrets of her own and doesn't want to burden her issues on her family after everything they have done for her. Dominique meets Marissa at work, they become the best of friends and over time they both let each other in to there trouble pasts which helps them both heal. When Dominique and Dillion meet for the first time there is an instant connection, both of them have never felt this before.
After an incident Dominique and Dillion become closer and eventually confess there feelings for one another. There relationship is passionate yet deep, Dominique opens up to Dillion about her past but never goes Into detail about who her family is. When Dillion finds out who Dominique really is his heart is broken and he believes all women are liars. Dominique is heart broken, she gave her heart to Dillion and it would never go to another man.
Dominique and Leah still remain friends, after an incident Dominique takes Leah out to cheers her up, they end up in gay bar. Dominique meets Tally, she loves Tally but is not in love with her. Tally is all drama!
I'm not one for writing reviews with spoilers so I need to stop here before I say to much more. I enjoyed the twists and turns, the ending left me wanting more.
Finding Hart is the continuation of Dominique & Dillion and Deliah & Spencer's story, I can't wait to read it
No! No! No! That is NOT how you're going to leave me hanging for months right???
Okay, to the story...this book suffered the same problem that I encountered in book 2 (Damien and Brooke's book) the story repeated to much info that I already knew about. I enjoyed the beginning, a lot, but that was it because that was the only part if the story that felt new.
I liked Tally in the other books, so this one disappointed me in that aspect. Also, I HATE that Dillon STILL doesn't know her secret!! I also really wasn't a fan of the fact that Dominique's doctor had been Brina and Brooke's father, and that Dillon had done work for him, yada yada yada. It was all a little too perfect of a circle. Up until this point, the books have been good about keeping a semi-realistic story line going, but this one just pushed some things too far over the line and it deteriorates the story line for me. I felt like this book had fabulous potential when I began it, but by the last 20% I was skimming and skipping whole pages looking for new story line that actually related back to how the book began. I got it on the last 5 pages and then was given that abrupt ending that I can't believe I now have to wait around with! I know some of the books have ended with semi cliff hangers, but NEVER like this one!
All that being said though, I of course will be anxiously awaiting book 6 (which I would have been anyways), I just hope that the story line gets revived again and that there is some kind of conclusion to Dillon and Dominique's story to come...since we absolutely didn't get anywhere close to it with this book =\
WOW.WOW.WOW! Where do I start?! Ella Fox DOES.IT.AGAIN!! By far one of my top 3 favorite authors! What I love about her books are they are most definitely different and worth every cent and second I spend reading it! It is so refreshing to pick up a book, heck series that does not start like "Once upon a time, a SEXY billionarie meets a plain jane and she submits to his ways, even though he is lost." Don't get me wrong I LOVE those books, but MY Goodness it is soooo exciting to read a book that is creative and interesting...different!
"The Hart Family Series" is by far my favorite series ever! Just when I think Dante stole my "Hart"...along comes another! WoW...I am speechless! I loved this family so much more! I didn't think it was possible! My favorite book is def the 1st book, but...I think this was by far the best written book in the series and I loved...loved...loved how everything came into play! I am so mad--yet so excited to read book 6!!! Man ol' man what a cliffhanger! =) I am mad, because I want more, I want more! But excited, because now there is going to be another book! Whooray!
If you have not read this series-- START IT NOW! If you have and have not read this book--START IT NOW! You will NOT be disappointed!
Dillion almost gives Dante a run for his money! Honestly, I am still making up my mind! =)
Ella, you have some explaining to do!!!! A cliffhanger...Really Ella?!?! REALLY!!!!!
*covers face and cries*
*calms down*
I cried my fucking ass off in this book. I was even tempted to buy some stocks in Kleenex *just to earn some money in return*.
Ella, you pulled me in from the very beginning *as you always do*
This book did a number on my emotions.
We got to see a different side of Dominique. Which in return broke my fucking heart. Dominique was always the strong one and to see her so broken, ugh. *takes a minute to wipe the tears away*
I loved Dillon in the beginning and I felt bad for the things he went through, but then he turned into a fucking douche! UGH! I contemplate reaching in and choking the crap out of him. *deep breath in...deep breath out*
A lot of things were explained in Missing Hart(holes missing from the previous books in this series), so I'm not as mad *just a little* for the cliffy.
All jokes aside this book was awesome. It's a must read!
This book touched my soul. It made me see things in a different light, so to speak.
I don't like to give nothing away...Ella does just fine with the Synopsis.
What are you waiting for? Got get this series ASAP!!!!
Wow there was a lot happening in this book and a lot of it felt rushed. Every character had some sort of tragedy in their life and even though I know life is far from perfect, these characters just had one bad hit after another!
I'm also really disappointed that Ella Fox has turned to using cliffhangers in this series. I'm sick and tired of authors using this technique in their books. I'm already invested in this series and these characters and I don't need a cliffhanger to keep me interested.
All in all it was a good book, but not as good as her previous stories.
semi spoiler-ish review
holy crap!!! this was definitely a ton more drama compared to the first one. they don't even compare to each other with how much is going on.
I loved this book, there was just so much going on. I think they seriously live in the smallest world ever! everyone that their acquainted with always somehow manages to connect with everything.
there's also so much abuse in this book. gaaahhhhh why is that, why is abuse such a popular topic!!!
the beginning of the book was super emotional, giving me so much different feelings it became a roller coaster. sadness -> happiness -> knowing something crap is going to happen because i'm only at 40% of the book
just so many feeeeeelllllsssss
if i had not read this series in order i would have been confused as fuccckkk. you just cannot read this series out of order YOU CANNOT
there were questions in the end that were answered that got me wondering in previous books. Like what the hell happened to tally, she all the sudden disappeared.... oh that's why she's a fucking psycho!!!!
it did leave off as a major cliff hanger, but I actually waited a few months and now the next book is out so I don't have to wait
beyonce approves of my happiness
Fabulous job Ella...you never disappoint...however the cliffhanger totally through me! Sigh...hurry hurry hurry please!!!
This book had two things that kept me hooked...first adoption (I proudly am adopted) and twin girls (I have identical twin daughters). The story was very deep and emotional and had me in tears early on with the emotions I felt. Her ability to describe the "twin" relationship was beautiful and very true. Ella does a fabulous job of writing to allow the reader to feel their own emotions. I felt every emotion she was hoping for...sadness, anger, love, happiness, guilt and redemption. I love the spiderweb of relationships she has built through this series. So different and complex, but always full of love. It was a bit repetitive of some of the other books, but in my opinion it was helpful in remembering what happened and how we got to here. Some people might not like it, but I didn't mind.
While I would have liked the HEA, like her other books, I understand her reasoning. it is maddening and I'm left wanting more as the storyline has now shifted and I am anxiously awaiting where it will go. I gave it 4 stars due to the unexpected cliffhanger...otherwise loved the story.
Congrats on another amazing book...
