A thorough, well-written study

A while back, I was engaged in a morning devotion when I came across the NIV translation of Numbers 27:18 which read "So the LORD said to Moses, "Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him"

Now I had never heard of "the spirit of leadership" so I sought other translations, most of which just refer to the Spirit on or in Joshua.

To satisfy my intrigue, I came across W. Phillip Keller's examination of the life of Joshua.

A thorough study and well-written exposition of the Biblical hero, Keller presents Joshua as a man of unwavering faith who leads Israel into the Promised Land.

An older book but timeless in its value and effectiveness. Definitely worth a read if looking for a faith-based book or to further your own examination of leadership.

Don't know how I missed this...

The author of "A Shepherd Looks At Psalm 23" has written a very insightful and thought-provoking character sketch of the man Joshua. Keller demonstrates that Joshua has been largely overlooked by people of faith, and that he may have been a greater leader even than Moses. Keller's approach is refreshing and easy to read. If you are a follower of Christ, you should invest in this book. As for me, I'm going to look for other books by him.

A great book showing the life of Joshua and his exploits in conquering the land of Canaan. Keller does a wonderful job showing the character of Joshua and his close fellowship with God and how God used him. When you think of great men of the Bible, you would have to add Joshua into the same ranks as Joseph, Daniel, and Paul. I recommend that if you are going to read the book of Joshua, also read this book along with it. Mr. Keller has great insight and understanding of the book of Joshua.

Joshua: Mighty Warrior and Man of Faith" is a biography by W. Phillip Keller that portrays the biblical Joshua as a spiritual leader who achieved greatness through unwavering faith and obedience to God, rather than solely military prowess. The book highlights Joshua's journey from Moses' assistant to the leader of the Israelites, detailing his courage and determination as he led them into the Promised Land and conquered Canaan, emphasizing his reliance on God's guidance.

This is a good book about the life of Joshua. I read it while on a backpacking trip so it helped that the trip was also very good.
