Quinn was supposed to be this sensitive empath devoted to Sammah but it kept mentioning how Sammah touched her and she didnt like it. I see no point in doing this unless author wanted to establish her as both trusting AND not trusting of her adoptive father which is just weird since we get no background story to why shes suspicious of him, its all just thought of as "Oh shes becoming an adult" even though shes less likely than most to suspect him considering hes her ADOPTIVE FATHER WHO IS THE ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE SHE CAN TRUST. Then at one point in the story her personality just switches to her being more confident The story sounded interesting but I cant continue reading when its flipflopping like this.

I really enjoyed this book it took me a few days to get through it, I didn't mind putting it down to do other things but I found the story enchanting and I liked the portrayal of Quinn though I found the instant feelings between her and Eden out of place I would have liked to see more struggle there that aside I'm curious about the next installment.

This is a brilliant new YA series that is written beautifully and captivates your imagination. All the characters are rich in description and compel you to read more. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
