OK I like my female leads to be strong independent women. This started like a wonderful book, then the backbone started sliding away from my girl :( Jealousy in small doses is all right but insecurity is so not hot. Realistic, but not hot. Kudos to the author for making me feel so strongly about her characters.

I really enjoyed the first couple of books in the series, which is why it has 2 stars instead of 1. I'm all about seeing a strong female character who doesn't take crap from anyone. I really liked the dymanic between Sophie and Marcus at the beginning. After the first book I bought the whole series, I just had to read more about Sophie and Marcus. The sex writing is pretty detailed and oh so steamy! What I did not like is her poor treatment of Christopher and her cheating ways. I know the point is to have her be unattached, but, in my opinion, there are better ways to show power women without having them stoop down to that level.

What really annoyed me the most is how needy and insecure she became later on in the series. It was jusy painful to read how Marcus constantly had to chase after her and reassure her. She knew exactly how he was before, he chose her, she should have stayed strong and confident. It would have been nice to see her claim her man instead of just running away after snide comments to Marcus. As a power woman, I felt that she should have walked right up to these countless women who kept hitting on him in front of her and stake her claim. Instead she was annoyingly insecure and pissy over things Marcus didn't even do and kept blaming him...and not once told off any of the other women. COME ON!! What happened to that strong, confident, woman I loved at the beginning of the series??

I also didn't like how the ending was so rushed. It would have been nice to see an Epilogue wrapping up their happy ending. I have so many questions: Did Mrs. Hunter finally come around too? Did they have kids? Did they decide to stay in London and raise their kids there or go back to LA so Sophie can be closer to her mother? It was just... oh look finally their wedding. The end.

Overall, the series was a great read at the start, but just went downhill. I will def read other books by C.C. Cartwright. I did enjoy books 1 and 2, and definitely the sexyness.

This is a wonderful entertaining box-set, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This story covers Sophie, she is employed in the same company where Marcus is the boss and she is very interested in him, Marcus is a billionaire who is a real alpha playboy that loves them & leaves them, they are both very stubborn people who work and play hard and worried that their affair will hurt and/or ruin their lives. What you will find in this story is drama, suspense, emotional feelings, parents disapproval, misunderstandings, an old flame, falling in love, romance and erotic scenes. The story-line is well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with personalities that have fears, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a entertaining well written romantic box-set.

I became a fan of C.C. Cartwright when I read The Love Me Series, she was a new author for me at that time, now she's one of my favorite writers. Love Dies Hard Box Set is not the exception, it's a very well written novella about Marcus Hunter and Sophie Shawn. The plot is full of drama, suspense, money, power, family criticism, lots of emotions, steamy sex and romance, C.C. wrote very mature and interesting characters. Marcus is a sexy playboy billionaire and Sophie's boss in the family business, Hunter Investment, a billion dollar company. Sophie is a smart, sassy and beautiful money manager working with him. The pull between Marcus and Sophie is so intense and passionate. He wants her for one night but she will surprise him. Go buy this amazing book set to know what happen next!

I absolutely love this series, there is a lot to grip you as you read through each and every book. Once I started reading the first book I knew that I wouldn't be able to miss a single thing that happens in the tale of Sophie and Marcus. The chemistry between the two is explosive and the relationship that develops is rocky but you can see that no matter what you want it to go the distance.

I Strongly advise you to pick this up it's one of the best stories you will read. CC Cartwright is a fabulous author who constantly delivers and who has written some amazing, gripping books that everybody will fall in love with.

Love Dies Hard is a 5 book series involving Marus Hunter and Sophie Shawn.

I struggled with this series but I kept reading hoping that I would eventually connect and it would get better. Unfortunately for me, it didn't get better. Marcus was totally alpha, which I love, but I couldn't get past his personality. And unfortunately, Sophie wasn't much better. Their chemistry seemed too shallow and didn't work for me.

I loved the premise for this book, but would have liked more depth and dimension as well as feeling a stronger bond between the two characters.

A Great Read

I really liked this box set. I like it that I did not have to wait for another book to come out. There is a lot of action in this book. It's very steamy and easy to read. A lot happens through the these books and leaves us on edge from time to time. Lots of surprises. Again a great must read.

This boxset is a whole lot of goodness, naughtiness, and sexiness. I found this series entertaining.
