This is Christine Yeager story. It starts with her on the with her ex-husband because he wanted to let her know that he hired someone to profit them. She was trying to fight the urge to scream at Tad not wanting to rock the boat before the divorce was final. At this moment she hated Tad more than anything. He said they had received threats at the office. He did know whether it was anything to worry about but it was better to be safe than sorry. She was upset with him for not spending as much time with their son as he should but it as a State Senator he spent most of his time in Washington. Chris is running for the mayor's position and her hometown.
Upset after getting off the phone with her ex-husband, she wiped away her tears and waits for their son to get home from school. The motorcycle sounds like it stop close to the house. Then I familiar man walk toward her to introduce himself as TJ. Your husband hired me to protect you and your son. His name was familiar but she cannot place it until he removed his sunglasses. He was the one that saved her in high school. Chris told him that she just got off the phone with Tad. Her ex well soon-to-be ex-husband. But she was still unclear why they needed protection. TJ told her that had told him that he wanted to make sue she and their son remain safe. Where is this story going, there is only one way to find out. Get the book.

Candidate For Love is the second book in the Classic Romance Series by Lita Lawson. It is a wonderful, charming romance with a little mystery and suspense. This is the second book of Ms. Lawson’s that I have read and it is every bit as good as the first. Ms. Lawson has excelled herself yet again, as this book is delightful, heart-warming, funny, sexy, suspenseful and highly entertaining.
Christine Yeager has had a pretty stressful time of late. Walking in on her husband, Senator Tad Yeager, in the act of cheating on her was only the beginning of her troubles. She is now in the final stages of a fairly messy divorce; and is trying to be the best parent she can be, for her son Sammy- to get him through the whole divorce saga, as unaffected by it as possible. As her family are very politically active and long-standing pillars of the community, Christine has bowed to the pressure put on her from her parents and is in the running to be Mayor of the city. She has more stress and complication than she can handle.
Then, Tad calls to inform her that he has hired someone to protect her and Sammy, due to some threatening calls he’d been receiving. When the personal security specialist arrives, he is nothing like she expected- he’s so sexy that he makes her weak in the knees. He has a powerful physical presence that completely captivates Christine, she never felt this attracted to another man before, not even her husband. A realisation dawns on her moments later, that she knows him- as they attended high school together, and he had once saved her from some thugs.
JT Morris has those seductive, bad boy good looks. He’s clad in black leather and rides a Harley. His job has entailed providing security for high profile celebrities and rock stars. That requires him to do a lot of traveling- and that’s just the way JT likes it. Never in one place long enough to put down roots. Now back in his home town after fifteen years away, to take on the security detail for Christine and Sammy. He nearly didn’t take the job, but changed his mind when he found out who he would be protecting- his high school crush and the one woman he has never forgotten.
Can Christine get over the pain of betrayal, learn to trust again and open her heart to new love? Will JT overcome his wanderlust ways and stay in one place long enough to find the love and affection he never had growing up- to put down roots and finally have a family to call his own?
Ms. Lawson has skilfully crafted a fairly complex story, but has somehow managed to make it feel so simple and sweet. All the elements were seamlessly blended and bound into a truly captivating read. I loved every word!
The characters are wonderful, fully developed and just adorable. I wanted to hang out with them on Christine’s porch and drink lemonade. Christine is strong and determined. She is such a great mother. Her self-esteem had taken quite a battering when her husband cheated, but JT has helped her to realise that she is a sexy, desirable woman- and not just a mother. JT is my new book boyfriend. He is HOT! I want to ride him, opps….. I mean ride on the back of his bike, with my arms wrapped around him. I loved the bond between him and Sammy, it’s so adorable!
The book is told from a duel POV. It can be read as a standalone and has a HEA.
I really am looking forward to Ms. Lawson’s next book.

Thank you Ms. Lawson!

Candidate for Love is the second book in the classic romance series by Lita Lawson, it is a standalone novel. I really enjoyed the story – I thought that it had an interesting story line and there were a few twists that I wasn’t expecting. For me I felt that it was really well written and had some great characters that I easily connected with and liked. This is the second book that I have read by this author and I liked this book just as much as the first one I read.
The story is about Christine, a young woman who is going through a divorce and also running for Mayor. Her soon to be ex-husband is also a political figure and after telling Christine that he has received some threats against her and their son he hires a bodyguard for her – that bodyguard that appears on Christine’s doorstep is tall, dark, handsome and leather clad! He also went to high school with both Christine and her ex-husband, Tad.
JT Morris didn’t want to put down roots and accepted jobs all over so he could move from place to place – he couldn’t believe that his latest assignment was to protect his high school crush Christine! Even after all this time he still wants her!
I LOVED the chemistry between Christine and JT!! I warmed to Christine’s characters straight away, clearly she was hurt by her husband and she is trying hard to protect her young son whilst trying to run for Mayor at the same time but she remained so strong and positive! I was really rooting for her to find her happily ever after and I desperately wanted it to be with JT! He was so lovely! Kind, caring and clearly very much in love with Christine (even if that did scare him!!) the relationship that he built with Christine’s son Sammy was so sweet and I just absolutely loved him! I wouldn’t mind him being my bodyguard!!
This story is definitely going to keep you guessing about the characters – will they end up together or won’t they?!?! I love it when a story isn’t predictable and there was one part I certainly didn’t see coming!
Having read two books by this author now I have to say that she definitely knows how to make you fall in love with her characters, you really do feel all the things that they are feeling and you end up feeling like you know them personally! I love this when you actually feel like you know a character inside and out!
I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a different storyline with characters you will definitely fall in love with!!

Candidate for Love (Classic Romance Collection Book 2) by Lita Lawson is the second book in the Classic Romance Collection. This story is excitement, passion and humorous. This story will show you that sometimes when you fall in love, it is a love for all time but you have to take a chance. Find out what happens in this story!

Christine Yeager is newly divorced and trying to raise a son on her own. She has no time for complications in her life as she is also running for mayor of her town. Just when she thinks that things can't get anymore stress full, one big complication happens. When her ex-husband starts receiving threats, he hires some security for her and their son. How will this effect her and their lives? She feels safe with him, but will he keep her safe?

JT Morris provides security services to popular rock stars. He has spent most of his life on the road and doesn't want to stay in one spot for very long. Will he change his mind? Once he left his home town, he had every intention of never returning but when he takes on this new job, he has to return. What will happen when he is hired to provide security to his high school crush? How will he handle this?

Christine and JT's story is one of learning to overcome betrayal and differences. They were raised in the same town but on two different sides. Will they overcome these differences and give each other a chance? Will they make a life time connection? Will their passion ignite into something that they can't control? How will all this effect her campaign?

This is my second read by Lita Lawson. Lita lives in Ohio with her husband and their cats. She started reading when she was very young and has a very active imagination and prefers male alphas, the hotter the better. This is a fast page turner that will have you reading until the last page. You will find yourself getting lost in their story. You will have a need to find out what happens in the end. I highly recommend this story as I know you will love it as much as I have.

candidate for love is book two of the classic romance collection and is my first from this author. wow I love her writing, I captivated with this book. her characters had strong backgrounds and she made you feel you were in the story with them.
Christine Yeager thought she would be married to her high school sweetheart tad, a senator forever. that dream crumbled all around her when she found him cheating on her. so she is slowly pputting her life back together and her family talks her into running for mayor. now she takes care of her son Sammy and works on her campaign tad informs her he has been receiving threats so he has hired security for her and Sammy.
jt Morris, who makes his living providing personal security to high profile rock icons. he has spent his adult life on the road and has no desire to stay put or settle down. he never expected to return to his hometown until he is hired to protect his high school crush who he still has feelings for. when Christine opens the door and finds him standing there she is transported back to the day jt saved her from bullies. when she looks at him its hard for her to breathe, jt is still handsome as ever. they still have lots of chemistry and the more time they spend together the harder it is for each of them to keep a professional distance.
when Christine's son Sammy meets jt they hit it off, and Sammy is excited over nth having a motorcycle. Christine worries how the fallout Will affect Sammy when jt decides to move along. Wil jt and Christine be able to move past their differences and make a life together.

Enjoyable read of recently divorced, conservative Christine and JT, a guy from the other side of the tracks. I appreciated the role of Christine's son in the book and how wonderful JT was with him. This is also a great read if you like a strong, very capable leading woman as Christine is a city council member now running for mayor. I didn't think the writing was wonderful, there were no errors but you were definitely "reading" the book instead of being a part of the journey. A fairly easy, quick read if you're just looking for something to pass the time.

I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This is my honest review.

Isn't it something finding Mr. Right, right in front of you? Or right around the corner so to speak. A romantic and heart touching story, an old romance continued years later but the heat is still smoldering in the ashes of a lost love found on a national holiday. Loved it, hated for the story to end. I can't wait to read more by her!

This story mesmerized me, with its political twists, the romantic development between Christine and JT, and the lovely flow of the tale. I ended up reading it at a one sitting, just taking it all in at once.
The situation that Christine is in, is delicate and even fragile. She is in the middle of the campaign for the mayor, her ex-husband is a senator, she is a single mother, and JT is a temptation hard to resist. He was her high school hero, brushing some bullies from harassing her, and now winning her son's heart by the tender, caring attention he is showering for him, as well.
After a turbulent childhood in the foster care, JT built a secure, convenient life for himself, that allowed him to travel across the country, and keep on the move, never set roots in one town for too long, keeping his life commitment free. But that one girl he never forgot was back in his life, and he was willing to risk it all this time around.
The story and the characters are well developed, with all the different elements finely bound together. Christina's ex-husband hired JT for her and Sammy's security. The alluded threat towards them is constantly part of the story, bringing more intensity and danger into the tale.
The attraction between Christine and JT is palpable. The passion between them is burning hot, and a temptation they soon don't want overcome. The feelings that were smoldering, soon burst into flames, and has even an effect into the campaign Christine is running.
Christine's self esteem was shattered by her husband's betrayal, she is fighting to get back on her feet, and the attention from JT is a great help on the matter.
JT's issues with his childhood, different foster homes, and constant lack of loving care has left scars inside the man, but the tender love from Christine starts to heal those wounds, and the relationship he is developing with Sunny shows him the potential of the future possibilities.
Exciting and intense story, with elements of wicked political games, blazing, captivating romance and sweet, adorable family moments, and cool motorcycles. Where stereotypical judgments of people are shredded away, and what's inside and who they are as a person matters the most

Candidate for love by Lita Lawson a lovely five-star read. This is the second book in the Classic romance collection, but is a stand-alone. I loved the first book in the series Foolish Gamble so was expecting great things from this book, and it didn’t disappoint. Lia Lawson writes characters that you care about, when they get wronged you want to go and throat punch the person upsetting them and give the poor character a massive hug.
This book is about Christine Yeager, she is a mayoral candidate in the city of Charleston and mother of a very sweet son called Sammy, who is amazing and I am not a lover of kids so for me to think he is sweet, he must be well written. Christine is going through a divorce from her husband Tad who was her high school sweetheart after he was unfaithful, she really doesn’t know if she will ever be able to trust another man again. Tad is a senator and when he calls to warns Christine that he has had some threats about her and their son he tells her he is arranging some security for them, but leaves it at that as he has to rush off the call, all he does say is its someone she knows from high school.
When there is a knock at the door, she goes to answer it and finds a mouth-watering man on her doorstep, he introduces himself as JT Morris security consultant, and he explains that he will just be monitoring the situation and giving advice on anything he sees as a risk. He looks dark and dangerous in his leathers and all in black, with a big shiny Harley on her driveway. JT is a rootless man, moving from place to place and job to job. Imagine his surprise when he accepts a job and turns up and it’s his high school crush, and even after all this time he still wants to get her on the back of his bike.
It’s a will they won’t they story, will they get their happy ever after or will her lack of trust and his itchy feet be too much, to find out you have to read the book, but the journey they face is a long and complicated one, and as we all know long and complicated makes a good read. This book doesn’t disappoint.

I love this romance story! It is such a unique plot, with Christine running for mayor, and J.T., the cool motorcycle man hired to keep her and her young son safe. He actually rescued her from a gang when she was a young cheerleader in high school, and she had always wanted to ride on his motorcycle. But it's hard for Christine to trust anyone, since her cheating ex-husband devastated her when she discovered him with his assistant. It makes for an interesting story as she has a hard time resisting J.T. who is quite the hunk. Anyway, sparks fly, as it gets scandalous, since she is running as a conservative mayor. Meanwhile, Christine's son, Sammy, gets along quite well with the leather jacketed, pony-tailed J.T. Underneath the clothes and cool attitude, J.T. is a kind man who knows what it's like to grow up without a family. He quickly finds out that he and Christine are a nice match. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Thanks to ebook discovery for providing the copy, so I could give this honest review.

Candidate for Love (Classic Romance Collection Book 2)
Lita Lawson
4 stars

This is book 2 in the Romance collection but can totally be read as a standalone.
So here we meet Christine, whom is almost divorced from her husband Tad who is a senator. She’s trying single handedly to rise their son Sammy and run in the campaign for Mayor. Tad got caught red handed cheating by his wife, and now as the campaign is coming near to the election date, Tad hires security for Christine and Sammy’s protection. Said protection is TJ Morris someone both Christine and Tad went to highschool with but never had much dealings with and Christine always saw him as the guy that help her out of a sticky situation with bullies. There is an instant chemistry between the pair and Christine is reluctant to allow her heart to trust another man, especially when Sammy is involved.
The alluded threatening phone calls keep the suspense and danger in the storyline and helps to show more and more of the blossoming relationship between TJ and Christine.
Tad is in and out of Sammy’s life and not around very much so when TJ starts spending time with him and showing his attention to Sammy, this pulls more at Christine's heart strings.
The character development throughout this is fast paced but gradual and shows you the pastimes of both Christine and TJ. From their high school days too TJ issues with foster homes and never feeling like he belonged in one place. Of course that all changes when he meet Christine who melts his heart into showing that he can care for someone and want to be with someone for the long haul, Christine needs to decide whether her heart is ready for another man.
This is a great romantic political twist, where it shows not everyone’s political matters and the matters of the heart are the same.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily reviewed this book and this is my honest review.
This was a beautiful love story.
Christine was running for mayor, recently split and divorced from her husband and so now 2 strikes against her, one for being a woman and the other being divorced, she can't afford any more. She is looked at as a poor little rich girl that is all for everything the rich people crave for but nothing for the majority or the working class! Then everything is turned around when her ex Tad hires JT as her body guard because he's worried about her and his son Sammy.
The first time she sees JT it takes her back years when she remembers how she sat on his motorbike waiting for a lift home because Tad was late and she was being bullied, JT came to her rescue. The feelings come flooding back and she's not felt like this for so very long.
JT has to remind himself that he's working and he's got to protect both her and Sammy he needs to keep her at arms length, being a man and seeing how beautiful she is stirs something he never thought he'd feel.
Lita captors everything great in a romance and makes it a brilliant read. I could go on and on but that would ruin it.
Not everything is to be taken for granted though, so many people see they are from total opposite sides and is that to much to try and cross.
There is so much passion and love, plus a lot of twists that you just don't see coming and it makes for a great read.
I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves a great love story. I couldn't put this book down reading well into the early hours before falling to sleep reading it! I will definitely be reading more from this series and following Lita as an author to watch out for, she puts do much into her books, I can't wait to read more.

Candidate For Love is written by author Lita Lawson; this is the second book in the Classic Romance Collection. This is a shorter book, but Lita packs a great story within the pages. Christine is running for mayor, campaigning as a single mother to her son while still working through her divorce. Her soon-to-be ex husband hires a “bodyguard” due to threats being made on their son’s life. Never did she think that individual would be someone from her past. JT Morris is back in his hometown, protecting no one other than his high school crush. His life hasn’t been stable and he never stays in one place long, always moving and on the go. However, is there a connection strong enough and worth it between these two to change everything?

Lita Lawson has written a terrific story with the female character, Christine Yeager. She’s strong and independent trying to forge her own path and providing her son a stable life. She wants roots and she wants to better her community. She has strong values and we don’t see her deter from those within this story. JT Morris is that guy that just reminds you of the bad boy you want, but should really honestly stay away from. However, there’s more to his character than just a hot guy willing to help others as part of his job.

Lita Lawson has crafted this story in such a way that brings you to the story with a front seat view of the events as those unfold and you are actively waiting just to see where this story goes. There are a few twists within the story line and they are done in such a way that they seamlessly work. I do wish there was more to this story, but part of that is just my desire to see more of the character thoughts/development and for the story to never end. A good story that I would recommend to others.

Candidate for Love is the second book in the Classic Romance Collection by Lita Lawson. This is my first novel by this author.

Christine Yeager is in the middle of divorcing her cheating senator husband. Taking care of her son Sammy and running for mayor takes a lot of her time.

When her soon to be ex Tad calls her telling her that there have been threats to their son and that he hired a security guard, he is very vague on her the person is. Just that it’s someone they went to high school with.

When J.T. Morrison shows up on her doorstep, she doesn't recognize him but it doesn't take her long to remember him as her high school crush.

“The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place it until the stranger took off his dark glasses. She looked into those friendly eyes and knew she’d seen them before. He was the boy from high school who had rescued her from thugs so many years ago while she’d waited for Tad to pick her up from cheerleading practice.”

When Sammy comes home, he takes an instant liking to J.T. Even more so when he is promised a ride on a motorcycle. Security is a hard job as is, even more so when you fall in love with who you are suppose to be protecting.

I really enjoyed this story. It had twists and turns and I really liked the political aspect of it.

I loved the characters Christine and J.T. Christine is still healing from her husband's betrayal and trying to raise their son. J.T realizing that after a life of travelling and having no commitments, being a family with Christine and Sammy is all he wants. I loved the ups and downs of the relationship. Made it feel more real.

A book I would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed every bit of this book. Christine was recently separated from her husband after catching him cheating on her. She's also running for the post of mayor and raising her son alone which further complicates jer life. Along the line, her ex-husband called her to inform her of certain threats against their son and hired a security personnel to protect them. As it happened, the protector happened to be their high school mate who she had a crush on before. During the process, they became attracted to each other and started dating which almost ruined her political career but she didn't give up. Some other things happened to tear them apart but at last their love triumphed. "I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review'.

Candidate for Love – Lita Lawson – 4 Stars

Christine Yeager was busy looking after her son, Sammy, getting a divorce and running for the town mayor so having received the news from her soon to be ex that he was sending someone to watch over them did little to reassure her. Not impressed by the quick phone call, Christine is not prepared further for the arrival of a man who seems able to bring all the past back to her.
TJ arrived at Christine’s home ready to protect her from what he did not know, but he remembered the missed chance with her when one night he went to take her home, but now he needs to be on his game more than ever.
This story is fast paced and with the added thriller twist throughout you see the connections between the characters grown as the story deepens.
Christine’s character is strong willed but wants to settle for the simple life with her son and local job, but having the demands of her parent’s expectations she is thrown into another life. She is loyal and fierce in the protection and love of her son. However, with her feelings confused she is determined to be the best mother and will stop at nothing to fulfil this.
TJ is quite but makes his intentions clear, from the same town he is known for not settling down but his feelings towards Sammy and his mum is a new experience for him and he is unsure what the future will bring.
This is a romance story with the added thrill blending into the story and bringing concerns for the main characters to the forefront.
Well written and tense to the end.

Candidate for Love by Lita Lawson. I give this book 5/5 stars. The theme of this book is is two people fall in love. This is a standalone novel.
Christine is running for mayor after a divorce. She is told that her ex hired security for her and their son. Her life changes when the guy happens to be a crush she forgot about. The first quote I chose for her is when she is filming an Mayor campaign: “Hello. I’m Christine Yeager. I’ve lived in Charleston all my life. Some of you might remember me as Christine Anderson. I’ve served our community as a city councilwoman since I graduated from college, and as an officer of the Charleston local school district PTA. I believe I’ve proven my ability to represent our community responsibly, and I hope you will support me in my run for mayor.”
JT is hired to protect a woman and her son. He takes the job because of who the woman is. He never thought he would settle down but life happens. The first quote I chose for him is the first time Sam asks for a ride: “I’d be happy to. I always keep my promises.” The second quote is him answering Sam’s question: “If I knew they would turn out like you, I’d definitely plan on having them.”
This is the second book I've read by Lawson. I really liked everything about the book. I felt so much throughout the book and the main one was betrayal. I was instantly in the book from the beginning. I highly recommend this if you like books with a politician. Check out this amazing author, series and any books she has.

Candidate for Love
By Lita Lawson

4 Stars

This is the second book I had the pleasure in reading from Author Lita Lawson and she didn’t disappoint me at all.

I give this love story 4 stars! I’m not really into politics but I was glad I gave this book a chance. It is a very well written, fun and intriguing story and the storyline has a fast paced.

Christine Yeagar is going through the final stages of her divorce to US Senator Tad Yeagar and all she wanted was to get their son, Sammy past the divorce as unaffected as possible. After bowing to pressure from her family and the local conservative party, Christine was also running to be the next Mayor of Charleston, West Virginia. If she thought her life was as complicated as it was going to get, she was sadly mistaken. Tad hires JT to protect Christine and her son, Sammy after receiving some threatening calls, Christine’s life it’s turned upside down.

JT was hesitant at first when Tad offered him the security job, but that hesitation vanished when he discovered who he was going to be protecting.

Secrets are revealed and their new found love and trust is put to the test. At the end Christine has to determine whether or not she is able to move past her ex-husband’s betrayals and lies. JT is intense and I always enjoy reading about a male character who tries to be a strong role model for the kids, even when his own childhood was a damaged one.

Candidate for Love is a book by Lita Lawson.

Christine is living her dream of running for Major, her grandfather and father were both in politics, life might not be how she planned it as she is divorcing her sweetheart after catching him cheating, but she has her son Sammy so every cloud. After having a phone call from her ex telling her there has been some threats made against her and her son so he is hiring a body guard to protect them. Not happy with the idea Christine gives in.

TJ is a nomad, never wanting to make roots anywhere, he like the uncomplicated relationships of one night stands, where there are no expectations. Being a body guard and security was perfect for him, he likes to protect. He now must protect a woman he went to high school with.

Both falling into an easy routine with each other, feeling start to get involved. Will they relive a moment they had when they were younger? Will TJ stay around? Will he be able to protect her?

Lita Lawson has created an easy read, beautiful book about love, trust, and suspicion. I loved both characters, TJ’s nomad life style, how he can blow in and instantly make people feel protected. I like Christine how she loves her son, gets on with life after her husband cheats. This was a short story, that was addictive to read. I love Lita’s writing style, it flows and not full of the boring bits in-between, it grips you and you will love it. four stars from me.

Candidate for Love by Lita Lawson

Christine is going through a divorce and is raising her son when she gets a call saying her soon to be ex has assigned security to them and that the security personnel will be there soon. Of course she doesn't fully understand why or whats going on since her ex wont really give her any details on anything other than they all went to high school together. When JT shows up at her door she doesn't remember him right away but it doesn't take her too long to remember just how she knew him in high school. It also doesn't take long for either one of them to realize that they have feelings for each other. What does take some time is for them to actually act on the fact that there is a strong attraction between them. JT is acting as security for Christine’s mayoral campaign as his front so people don’t think it’s suspicious that he is around a lot. There are quite a few ups and downs for this couple through this book, but it doesn't stop them from falling in love with each other and it definitely doesn’t stop JT from realizing that no matter what he wants Christine and her son Sammy in his life for good. Watching as this couple gets through the tough spots and comes out the other side stronger is something amazing to see, also seeing their love grow is wonderful. I hope that if you take the time to read this book that you love it as much as I did. Ms. Lawson did an amazing job with this book.

Candidate for Love by Lita Lawson is a romance story that is between two people who are destined to hook up.
This story follows Christine through a life event that most people have or will experience, divorce. She finds out her husband has been cheating on her with another woman and goes through the divorce process. Tad, the ex, is a congressman and begins receiving threats. He hires a bodyguard for Christine and their son to ensure their safety. Christine did not bank on a hunky, motorcycle driving, man whom she has known since high school showing up on her doorstep and changing her world around. JT does not sign up for this job but is contacted and agrees to help out. He begins watching over Christine, who is running for mayor of her town, and her son, Sammy. Sammy immediately attaches to JT and thus the story begins. There are a few unexpected twists and turns. This is a rather interesting story but it is a classical romance story between two people who meet and shouldn’t be together but decide to give it a go. They are not without their troubles and she tries to ignore it but she is only able to do that for so long before she realizes she is in too deep. I enjoyed the story but thought there could have been more to it. It was a little too predictable for my taste but it had a happy ending and so wasn’t a bad read either. I recommend this book if you are into classic romances with some steamy scenes.

Candidate for Love by Lita Lawson is the second book in the Classic Romance Collection. Christine Yeager has a stressful life with her mayoral campaign and raising her son on her own. Throw in the fact that she is going through a divorce and her stress level is through the roof. Her soon-to-be ex informs her that he has been receiving death threats and for safety reasons he has hired a bodyguard to protect her and their son, her life is transformed.
JT Morris makes a living as providing personal security to rock icons. He has spent his entire adult life on the road, he has no desire to stay in one place and settle down. He left his hometown and has never looked back. He never expected to ever return, that is until he is hired to protect his high school crush. Christine has been betrayed and JT has no need to plant roots, can they overcome their differences and make a connection? Or will Christine’s already stressful life get in the way of true love?
I enjoyed diving into the depths of this story. It was well written and the story line flowed. Christine and JT’s love story was slow to start off but developed beautifully. It will draw you in and have you rooting for Christine and JT, it will have you falling in love too. Lita Lawson did an amazing job writing a classic romance and I can’t wait to read more from this outstanding author.

Candidate for Love by Lita Lawson receives 5 stars from me! Candidate for Love is the second book in the Classic Romance Collection Series. The first book is Foolish Gamble, you do not need to read Foolish Gamble to read Candidate for Love. However, because Lita has an amazing writing style I would definitely recommend reading it because it will be an amazing book. Candidate for Love features Christine Yeager who is running for Mayor in her town of Charleston, West Virginia. As a divorcee and single parent she is already having to juggle her campaign while raising her son Sammy by herself. Her ex Tad is rarely in the picture so she is surprised when she gets a phone call from him regarding their son. He had received threats while he was in D.C. concerning their son and hired a bodyguard to protect Christine and Sammy. JT Morris stops by Christine's house shortly after her phone call with Tad. A blast from the past, JT went to High School with Christine and Tad, and now he would be staying in town to watch over her and her son. As if her life was not complicated enough! With JT around Sammy is starting to get attached, Christine is pretending not to for the sake of heart as well as her campaign. The leather clad Harley driving JT is not what the conservatives who are going to vote for her want. Will Christine give JT a chance? And will JT stick around for that chance?

LOVED!!! What a great book. Christine is running for Mayor and recently got divorced from her husband that she caught cheating on her. Christine spends her time working on her campaign and taking care of her son, Sammy. They live in a small town in a great neighborhood and they both are happy. Christine comes from a family with money and everyone in town knows her parents and her ex-husband who is a popular Senator. Christine just wants to win and do it by herself so she can have something to be proud of.
JT is a traveler and never stays in one place very long. He has never been in love and doesn’t normally do relationships. JT was hired by Christine’s ex-husband to protect her and Sammy because he is worried about them during her campaign. JT is extremely HOT and well-built and likes to wear leather and ride his bike. JT is great with Sammy and is good at helping Christine.
I love this book it is a fun loving type of book and it was very sweet. I loved how sweet the mother son relationship was with Christine and Sammy. She was always there to support him in everything and it is hard when you are a single mom and you have other things to do as well. I loved how JT was just so sweet and kind to everyone and had a heart of gold. Great book and new author to me. Look forward to reading more.

Stars: 4
Christine Yeager has a lot on her plate. She is raising her son, Sammy, and campaigning for mayor. She is dealing with her divorce from her ex, who is a US Senator and cheated on her. Her ex-husband tells her that he hired a man to do security since he had received physical threats. JT Morris is hired to protect Christine and Sammy. He went to school with Christine, but has spent the majority of his providing security for rock stars. He had a crush on her while they were in high school. He continues to have feelings for her, but Christine must overcome her insecurities and trust issue to find happiness.
I liked this book. Christine is a great mom and a caring person. There was a part of in the book that I just wanted to scream at her ex-husband, but the way the author worked it out in the book was great. I loved JT. He was an excellent role model for Sammy. He loves and cares for Christine even when she is dealing with all of her feelings and expectations that are placed on her. Their personalities and back story helped me fall in love with them as a couple. Overall, this book kept me engaged and interested. I have to admit I loved that this book was set in Charleston, West Virginia. I grew up about forty-five minutes from Charleston. I have only read a few books that are set in West Virginia.

Candidate for Love is a fairly lighthearted romance, set in the middle of the run-up to the Mayoral elections. Christine, a local aristocrat, is running for Mayor, and when threats arise against her and her son, JT is hired on as their bodyguard. JT was at school with Christine, and apart from one brief interlude when JT rescued Christine from bullies, their paths didn't cross again until he is hired by Christine's ex-husband. Their lives couldn't have been more different and yet the connection they felt in their brief contact as teenagers, is quickly fanned into flame as they are forced into close contact for Christine and Sammy's protection. The situation becomes complicated in the run-up to the elections and despite rumours and scandal, JT keeps his cool in the most admirable fashion. I loved his character and identified with Christine as she tried to do the right thing. Sammy is as cute as a button, and the perpetrator of the treats came as a complete surprise. As a quick read, this romance was most enjoyable. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Candidate for Love was my first by Lita and it most defiantly will not be last.
From the beginning I was pulled into this book. I read it in one sitting!!
Not only was it very well written but it was also quite entertaining.
From political twists and turns to steamy romance.

Let me just say Christine, the main heroine has a bit of a tricky life. From running for mayor, to raising a child to having an ex-husband who most defiantly will not win best husband award. She is quite fragile at a time in her life when she has no time to be.

And then JT shows up. He shows up at a time in her life when she so does not need another distraction. Yet it couldn't be the better time.
Slowly they fall in love.
And boy is their chemistry is out of this world. OFF the chart!!!
I loved their relationship. And JT was the dream guy. And with a MOTORCYCLE!! WOWSER!!

Let me just say that Lita did NOT disappoint and I will defiantly be coming back for more of her books.
Highly recommend this to anyone who loves hot romance with politics. Perfect mix!!!

Christine was recently divorced. She is raising her son as a single mom. Christine was in the middle of running for major when she learns that she has a new bodyguard named JT. But she is unaware of that she maybe in danger of losing her son. But she has JT to keep her safe. She begins to have feelings for him. Can her feelings make it through the betrayal?

JT was hired to protect her but at a price. He is unaware of the trouble behind protecting her. He is the only she can trust. That is until she finds the reason behind the betrayal.

I really enjoyed this book. The feelings you experience in CFL are real.
I loved how strong Christine remains through the whole book. Well unless it comes it to JT.
JT is swoon worthy. Loved him but Christine just grabbed my heart.
