This is a standalone novel with no cliffhangers that will satisfy your deepest cravings for sizzling romance.
Sadie Black is a 30-something author living on the east coast. She's married to a man who isn't a billionaire, but is her happily ever after (and they have four rugrats to prove it).
If she isn't dreaming up steamy romance stories or chasing her children then someone should file a missing person report, because she is always doing one or the other.
I was given this book as an ARC and asked to give my honest opinion on it, and here it is.
I'm a fan of Sadie Black romance series because of her unique style of writing especially the Devoted series. Some books I don't like and some I do. I kept reading because the side characters hook me and I wanted to know whats in store for them as well as wanting to know where the story was going. I didn't connect with this story and just because I wasn't a fan of one book doesn't mean I won't like the next. I'm not sure exactly where I disconnected from this story. I think it was around the time when Moneka ( restaurant owner)and Cole (the contractor) was at the celebratory party and afterward trying to out drink each other then sex. For me that scene didn't seem to flow well and afterward it pretty much became all about sex between the two of them. The bones of a great story were there, but it wasn't fleshed out. The relationship between Cole and Moneka was full of ups and downs, confusion and indecisive that it was truly tiresome. I didn't find myself really invested in either of the main characters relationship, but this is a unique story. I was looking for more of a progression of the story between Moneka and Cole. This story was as an outsider was describing things to the reader instead of the reader experiencing them along with the characters.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. The story was okay but I would have liked more background on the main characters and it seem to be a bit slow-paced and at times I was tempted to stop reading as I couldn't stay interested in it. I can't say that I hated this book nor can I say I loved it.
I received this for an honest review. I have read for Sadie Black for sometime. She has never disappointed. I have so many interest when it comes to book subjects on reading and this one falls in one of those categories. I love books that are taboo or even come close to taboo. There is something about step-siblings or soon to be step-siblings that I find hot as hell. So I absolutely loved this book.
I love that sexually tension and the tug of war that Cole Saunders and Moneka Hart are having. They play this cat and mouse game that is just funny. Cole can not help but admire Moneka's beauty and body well until she opens her mouth..LOL Then all sexual thoughts are thrown out the window.
Moneka and Cole are in this business relationship. Moneka has always dreamed of owning her own resturant. How many 8 years olds grow up and live their dreams. She has everything thing a girl could want. A wonderful sister, mother, and best friend that stand by her and encourage her to live her dreams.
Cole is the contractor on Moneka's resturant. He was quite a distraction. They seemed to have this love/hate relationship. Moneka truly wanted to blame him for all her bad choices on fixtures. Reading you can tell the reason she was lashing out at him so was due to her attraction.
I loved the name of the book. Not only was the resturant named Crave but it was also fitting what was going on with Moneka and Cole. No matter how much they fought the attraction is was like something deep within craved just one more look, just one more talk, and just one more touch.
There are a few surprises for Moneka and Cole but sorry you will have to read the book to find what surprises are awaiting. I just loved how Kaila and Sonia tried to kick them in the right directions. It shows the love that they had for the two. A couple of quotes that I loved was " We'd been robbed of this moment by anger, hate, and fear." WOW, tell me that quote is not deep. So often do we let things rob us and do not embrace what is right before us and that is what Moneka and Cole was doing. The other quote is "There was that smile again. Like a hearth, it welcomed me home. Like a gaping pit, it looked like something I could fall into". I could not read that and not think how beautiful that quote was. Sadie Black truly has a way with words.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This was a good book, and I loved the characters--Moneka and Cole. I liked that the story was about regular people. Although Cole's family had money, he did not take any of his father's money--he wanted to make his own money his own way. Moneka was hell on wheels, but Cole knew how to handle her. When the opportunity arrived, Cole showed Moneka how much he was attracted to her and she could not resist her attraction to Cole. Sadie Black did a great job with this storyline and characters.
I had this book for weeks and put off reading it. I'm glad I got around to it! Two unlikely lovers and a nice coincidence made this one of my favorite stories. It was sexy and sweet in equal parts. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Any chance we'll get a story about her sister?
If the spelling errors and continuity were actually corrected. And the author didn't go into so much detail about nothing I probably could of rated this a bit higher. I feel like I'm giving it 1 star to much honestly
Sometimes when love comes no matter when and where people should not fight it. I love how the author shows the heroine as a strong woman who looks out for her family and her business yet shows her as vulnerable as well.
The story was my first book from this author. The plot was definitely different, especially with how the relationships ended up. There were some editing problems that needs to be fixed but nothing too major. Good read.
Although you could tell that the two main characters had serious chemistry, the sub characters were so intertwined that it seemed like looking at a real life every day family. Great book, thanks.
If not for all the typo's and misused words , this would h made a really great story. The story line was a good one. Please proofread better in next book
I read the book as a ARC member. I enjoyed this book. It was a book that gave insight to craving more than just a one night stand. Pleasure may come at a price. Cole and Moneka find that out.
