Just in case you do not want any spoilers, here is how I sum this up for you. From the darkest dark there comes light. With a little hope and faith, anyone can persevere. This book made my little heart happy.
The moment Alexis Riddley announced she was releasing another book; I did a little happy dance. I could not wait to dive into the mysterious Winston West’s head. Alexis’s first book was such a mind twist in the best of ways, that I could not wait to wait and see what she had for us this time. With Enough Secrets, what I thought was going on and what truly was going on was never the case.
I must say Alexis did not let me down with how I envisioned Winston West in this book. From Winston’s heartache to his snark, it was exactly how I seen him in my mind. Even when the saucy Kacie throws him for a loop, it is how I could see this once broody man handling the situation.
“I need you to know that my heart is torn into pieces. It’s like you are pulling back all the layers that I have hidden behind my entire life, even with Charlie. You expose me.” Winston West
When this book starts, poor Winston was doing his best to survive and not succumb to his grief. Man oh man!! I wanted to scoop this man up into a monster bear hug and tell him everything will be okay. I could feel his pain and just wanted to make it all better.
The more desperate I was to be someone’s everything, the more I became both of our nothings. ~Poet Darcy
Winston was lost and when you are lost, you make mistakes not even though you do not mean too. It killed me reading some parts when I knew in my heart Winston would regret his actions. Even if they were hot has hell when he did them. He was doing whatever he could just to tread water until a saucy woman named Kacey Reese came crashing into his life. I absolutely loved how Kacie pushed Winston and made him strive to be more than he ever imagined he could be. I smiled so many times as Winston came back to life and fought to be more.
My girl Kacie Reese was a firecracker to be reckoned with. She was good at what she did and everyone knew it. Kacie had her own demons she hid from the world. Not wanting anyone to know she suffered too. Kacie needed Winston more than she ever wanted to admit in the beginning. I loved the tango she played with him until she gave in and wanted more. She just had no clue that Winston’s secrets could run so deep.
“Kacie, what are you doing to me?”
Watching these to fight to me something together was something special. I loved how Alexis Riddley unraveled this story. The ending of this book was just freaking beautiful. Not everything is butterflies and roses in life and Alexis showed us just that.
Everything comes full circle in life even if you do not think it could ever happen.
