MASTERS OF MAGIC AND MAYHEM! Lucy is a young, rebellious celestial wizard with a dream: to join Fairy Tail, the world s most rambunctious and powerful magical guild! When she happens to meet one of Fairy Tail s top wizards, he turns out to be not quite what she expected: a slob traveling with a flying cat. But the promise of adventure is real, and together they escape from pirates and a devious magician! Their next task: to steal a book from the evil wizard-killing Duke Everlue, and outsmart his death trap. Eccentric new friends join along the way in this lushly-drawn modern classic, reissued from the beginning in a large size with a small price (for discerning guild masters).

"When that happens, I believe in the power of my friends!! I trust the power of the Fairy Tail wizards!!"
This Master's Edition features the conclusion of the Sub-Zero Emperor arc as well as the complete Phantom Lord arc and the start of the Tower of Haven arc
This volume does a great job of showing what Fairy Tail is at its core; a series which perfectly blends heart, action and comedy. There are some great character moments, especially for Gray and Erza, both of whom get focused storylines. Juvia and Gajeel are also introduced in this collection. Full of laughs, heartbreak and friendship, this is why Fairy Tail has remained one of my favourite manga series of all time after all these years.
This is just one of the best fantasy series out there and the omnibus editions are gorgeous and huge! I love the magazine size presentation which though making them hefty tomes also makes them a pure delight to read. Volume 2 Master's Edition contains Vol. 6 to 10 of the original series and covers a lot of story. I won't go into much detail so as not to spoil the plot but after finishing off the storyline from where things were left in vol. 5 a new story arc is started and completed within this edition involving an all out war between the Fairy Tail Guild and the Phantom Lord Guild. Natso finally meets another dragon slayer and three characters get storylines of their own giving us backgrounds on them and lots of character development: Lucy, Loki and Erza. Tons of battle action, some pretty dark storylines and of course plenty of humour and silliness. This is a very full book and even though you are binge reading 5 volumes in a row it took me several days to read the whole thing since there was so much coming at me; I needed to savour it all and not just gobble it up. So excited waiting for the next volume.
I'll admit it's *so* nice to be reading Fairy Tail. Obviously a huge fan of the anime, and it is nice to go back and revisit the start once more, and really reminded me of a lot of the things I love.
These master volumes are so worth the money I love the manga so much even though I spend a good chunk of time comparing it to the anime (or I guess the other way around)
