Paul is good with books, logic, and statistics, but emotions? Not so much. He experienced betrayal as a child and he vowed to never, knowingly, let it happen again. He built elaborate, protective barriers around his heart, against the dysfunction that is his family. He didn't see it coming when Rhees Williams came along, dragging her oversized duffle bag onto the deck of his scuba shop. He didn't see it coming when she appealed to his softer side. He didn't see it coming when she found her way into his heart. Rhees is not only a good person, she’s the kindest, most innocent, beautiful woman he’s ever known. With her, he sees everything doesn’t always fit into simple black and white boxes. She teaches him that just because he can get away with something; it doesn’t necessarily mean he should. She’s changed his life for the better and he wants it to stay that way. Paul finds himself starting to believe in happily ever after's, that love is real—after all—his feelings for Rhees are proof of that. What he and Rhees have is true love—he’s sure of it. And another thing he’s figured out with certainty? Love sucks!
Wet Part 3 is a literal continuation of Parts 1 and 2, not a standalone. May be best suited for mature readers.
Redwood: Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse, and a good angsty love story?
Jungle: The Whispering Ruins, is a YA paranormal, action and adventure, kind of sword and sorcery story.
Wet was supposed to be a quick, hammer it out story so I could get back to Jungle II, but it turned into a gut-wrenching, 3 part saga. It's a great beach/vacation read, or if you need a vacation but can't get away.
People are saying they didn't expect all the twists and turns in Poppy's Anthem. Nor the car chases, exploding helicopters ... not your typical rockstar romance.
Feast is a quick feel-good holiday novella about growing up, relationships, and learning to trust your heart.
Peace in the Storm is #16 in a 22 book anthology, The Peace Series. I dedicated this sweet Cowboy romance to my bull-riding brother and love how it turned out.
These three books, all finish and start immediately. Thankfully I had all three together, to read back to back.
Whilst they all finish on a cliffhanger, its not a 'oh god, throw me off a cliff now!' but having them all there means you don't have to miss a thing or memory.
Still absolutely loving Paul and Rhees, the first third of this book was sweet, the really beautiful wedding plans, and then BAM..... what a roller coaster thrilling suspense, so much happening that you are on the edge of your seat, wishing it goes the way you want it to.
I loved how they both dealt with the aftermath and how they navigated through it all, there is no mistaking Rhees came out stronger through all the experiences whilst on the Island, and having Paul as her biggest cheerleader made a ton of difference, even through he questioned and berated himself time and again.
Did Paul make some very wrong decision and choices YES he did, and talking with Keene seemed to help him for more than he ever thought.
This has certainly not been a typical boy meets girl, fall in love romance story, the twist and turns gave it an edge, a very frustrating edge sometimes. They we very good together, in their world when not affecting or being affected by others.
I understood Rhee's jealousy, it seemed she had to deal with woman's advances towards Paul throughout all three books, but loved how she stood up to the dreadful Ronnie.
Great thought provoking story, with lots of romance, but with a thrilling suspense.
Wet, Part 3 is by S. Jackson Rivera. It is the third book in the Wet trilogy. This book continues the story of Rhees and Paul and Paradise Divers. I believe this is the best of the three books. It certainly makes you think about how the past affects the present and future. It deals with how people individually deal with rape and abuse, both the victim and bystanders. Rhees and Paul are to be married. He finally realized he loves Rhees and convinced her that it was real. While she would have settled for a Justice of the Peace marrying them, he wanted more of a production. He arranged for the only “family” she had left, her neighbor in Utah Mrs. Michaels, to come to the island for the wedding. Their unique wedding was held on top of a pyramid about a two hour ride from the capital. Paul had arranged a bus to take them and their friends to the wedding and eventually home again. However, during the reception and party, Paul decided he and Rhees would leave early and take a different bus home. Claire and Dobbs opted to go with them as they were tired. So they set out to begin their honeymoon. However, circumstances were to change for the worst. They were hijacked and taken with the other people on the bus into the jungle. Hopefully they would be ransomed and let go; but from the looks Rhees was getting from the leader, not without Rhees’s being raped. What would Paul do to protect her? What could he do? This is just the start of the tumultuous marriage of Rhees and Paul. The trauma of the hijacking and attempted rape brings a secret from Rhees’ past to light. Can they work their way past this secret?
I think this might be my favorite series of the year. It is fun, exciting ...and part 3 is frustrating!!! And ... sad ...
With each book I found myself pulling my hair out, waiting for the next one to come out so I could read it. This is not the typical romance novel. This is real, no chance meetings where they wind up in bed five minutes later and somehow, that one act of sex makes them fall in love. Like that really happens, said no one ever.
In this series, you clearly see how the feelings develop, for real. The challenges in the finale are heartbreaking and had me pulling my hair out, wanting to scream at the characters and trying to figure out if they could pull through.
The serious nature of this book 3 might make some cringe. I found myself biting my nails and wishing I didn't have to go to work, preferring to stay in bed to read to the end.
This series is not what I was expecting. Rivera pushes so many envelopes, but each time I’d think I knew where it was heading, she skillfully pulled it back, leaving me in awe and wondering, “How does she do that?”
It was what I expected, and then some. I can't say this is the perfect ender because I'm hoping for a next book, like the author was thinking of writing.
A lot of significant events happened and Rhees's and Paul's pasts are revealed. There's also a twist of fate that made this so, purely coincidental.
There's the usual back and forth between the two, an annoying can't-get-a-clue bitch who I'm glad was kicked out, and Paul and Rhees trying to work it out.
Rhees is her usual compassionate self but I really liked how she put her foot down on some things. Paul is conflicted but realized what he's been doing and both of them are apologizing to each other most of the time.
This story is longer (probably cause the author wants this to be the last of the trilogy), but it's quite intense. Their first time together wasn't what dreams are made of.
Even after all that, I still felt lighthearted after reading cause I just know they'll stay together.
This was an amazing series. I couldn’t put it down. There are so many emotions, ups and downs, anger, heartache. Paul and Rhees have finally gotten married and now they will finally make love and have their HEA. But the world has very different plans for them. The present and their pasts will try to tear them apart. Is their love strong enough to work through it all?
I love this Series :) I'm glad they were complete when I started because I would have been anxiously awaiting each one ;) I love the underwater and diving scenes but the excitement around every corner keeps you glued to the pages. Thanks for your work I look forward to more adventures with you.
Great ending to a wild ride. The whole series was well done. This series would be a great beach, vacation read. There is a lot to think about in the problems these two characters, Paul and Rhees had to face. Good lessons for us all.
This is a great story which is also unique. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is I think it could have been reduced to 2 books, a little long winded in spots but don't get me wrong definitely worth reading.
These just got worse and worse as they went and this one nearly made me tear my hair out. Literally two of the most annoying characters I have ever read.
You need a mouth guard to read this book, seriously! The angst , the pain it was making me grinding my teeth. I was so sad yesterday because I could feel so much pain from the characters. Rhee was a little childish, it really annoyed me sometime and Paul, come on? If it was real life , I am not sure a relationship can survive so much pain. S. Jackson Rivera has a great way of writing, she pulls you in the story. Amazing! I can't wait for more from this author and I can't recommend this book series enough.
