"It's Halloween Time, Thirteen Stories to Delight"
Ghosts, gremlins, witches ... it's that time of year to get the spooky stories out to read in a dark, quiet spot. Some of these stories will make your body tingle, the hair on your head stand up. There are 13 such stories here to liven you up in preparation for Halloween. Enjoy them ... they're great! I especially enjoyed "Ghosts" by Mala Rheston, and "Bunnies" by Rich Meyer. Which will be your favorites? Write a review and let the authors know!
Boo! The Third, edited by The DB Collective is a scary treat for Halloween or frankly anytime you are in the mood for some dark stories with spirit. I enjoyed this collection that offers a wide variety of good fiction writing. A clever little escape into the creepy.
Laurie Boris' Madame Alexa Tells Your Future is a smart piece that is an original horror story that plays out like non-fiction. Life is full of horror stories and this one comes in a neat, tidy package.
Movie Night by Ann Cathey is a good story that keeps with the Halloween vibe. When reality and horror come together.
Jen Daniele's The Keepers is a smooth read that takes place in the church. Will God's plan be able to be followed through?
Midnight Getaway by Erin McGowan is a story of a girl who is treated like a servant in her own home. A dark tale that comes to life right off the pages. A dark Cinderella story.
LB Clarks, Chapter One (a Hollywood Knights Vignette) takes place on Halloween. A Halloween wedding. Nicely told.
Ghosts by Mala Rheston
Watching old horror flicks with friends. The anticipation of getting to the exciting, scary parts. It's Halloween night and they have picked a good one, but nothing will be more "exciting" than what goes on in the background.
Bunnies by Rich Meyer
Is there a monster lurking about or just a rabbit? A well-written story with a bit of comic relief.
Ghost of Time by Kristina Jackson
When reoccurring dreams feel real. Tossing and turning and then waking up from ghostly visions.
The Negotiation by Erin McGowan, on the search for vampires! And sure enough, Halloween was his favorite time to play.
Tourist Season by LB Clark is another fantasy that is told with authority and passion.
Raindrops and Red Wine by Ann Cathey a mystery that grabbed my attention right away.
Holy Death by David Antrobus is clever. Inviting and yet dark and not for the faint of heart. Wow!
And lastly Don't Touch by JD Mader is a ride into the unknown. A killer who knew he had to kill at a young age. A trial of blood follows.
"I am sulphur smoke and hellfire. I am the disaster that never ends. They think this will stop me. They will be made to realize their follies. One day, they will make a mistake. I will not miss it."
I've read every installment of this anthology series and, though I didn't find this one as entertaining as the previous two, I still enjoyed it immensely. If you like spooky stories with unique characters and plots, I recommend adding this series to your reading list. The authors are top-notch, and know how to spin tales that will keep you turning pages!
