Since I have waited until reading the first 6 of these short stories to review, I can honestly say I'm speechless. Giving this series five stars is easy, but if you are the faint at heart and do not like reading BDSM, this will not be for you. All through this set of short stories there has been a mystery and it's heart wrenching, but beautiful at the same time. Bethany Walker writes beautifully and can put pen to paper better than some of my beloved authors.

The story line is deep and most assuredly unlike that which most of us have read in our search for that "perfect" man of our dreams. I can tell you this, I would read it all over again and I anxiously await the next book. Give them a try, I think you will really like Galen and Braden Blood.

I will be honest I thought this book was going to be boring because of similars book from different authors. But i was complete fucking wrong. This book had me going and wanting more.. I am trying to find 5 and 6 because the cliffhanger in 4 had me wishing and praying to find the others.... I GOTTA HAVE IT..

Suspend your disbelief, hide your morals, and run away as fast as you can. This one was incredibly dark, all over the place and over the top with sexual escapades.

Let's lay a little plot down since there really isn't much in the way of a plot. Galen and Braden Blood are stepbrothers. Galen the natural born Blood family member and Braden was married into it his mother, a Stone, married Galen's father. They are beyond rich and dabble in everything illegal, risky and wrong. The two make bets that cost in the millions, some dangerous, some just plain wrong and other lucrative. They have no hearts and while the author wants to make you believe they do, they really don't.

So Braden and Galen made a bet (again) and you don't know all the details of it. The first part was Braden picking out a woman for Galen to pass off as a his wife, a lady in public, but a whore in the bedroom, submissive to all his needs and desires. Braden knows something Galen doesn't and proceeds to pick a woman Galen doesn't think he knows. Braden wants them to fall in love and offer up his final revenge and ultimate hatred of Galen to the world. They pick a woman in the gutters of Las Vegas. Life hard on her face, bile surrounding her, drunk, and just plain disgusting. Eliza is her first name. Eliza fucking Downy is the name she gives them.

Galen takes her home, both disgusted and attracted to her. He lays out his deal to her: six months, she never says no and does everything he wants. Making her sign a contract she uses a false last name and offers up no resistance, nor boundary he can't cross. So you know right away this isn't going to just be a Dom/sub relationship but one steeped in humiliation and desires beyond what most people tolerate.

I got the first four volumes of this story in a bundle so I can't really definitively say where one ended and another one began. Galen and Braden both are depraved, Galen for making he bet and doing everything he does. Braden for the secret part of the bet he is forcing on Galen and the depraved things he does to Eliza.

The story is written very disjointedly. You see her get dressed by servants one morning and nothing else, like going to the bathroom, brushing her teeth, putting on make up or even brushing her hair. So when they go out it seems all kinds of wrong. Later her lipstick gets smeared and we learn that Galen put it on her after the brothers sent her to subspace. It just seemed weird and nonlinear in depth to the story.

While the author does say this is a fantasy of men taking what they want and giving nothing back, it went well beyond that and gave nothing back to the read....me. To humiliate a human to this depth was not really a turn on. In the mind of the men, they love her curves, her looks, but they do depraved things to her to watch her reactions and then claim their hearts are being won over.

The secret Eliza is holding comes out in the end of volume 4, but with very little detail of what that secret entails. Braden shows his hand and Galen closes up. I just felt left in the cold wondering what new ways they would think to make this woman suffer and the author think they are good Doms. This story had so much potential, but it felt like mostly the author was writing for shock value instead of engaging my emotions on how this could change or not change the men. So I moved on to volume 5. Why? Because I wanted to know why Eliza's secret was so harmful.



So I went into volume 5 with little hope that I would enjoy it and I was right. Galen now knows the secret, but holds his anger close to his heart in front of Braden. No way is he losing this game. He feels hatred towards Eliza, but then again he feels love, a twisted no depth kind of love.

Eliza still feels she has no value and deserves everything these men are doing to her. She can't say no without breaking the deal, even when the humiliation goes beyond what anyone should feel. Humiliation that only she and Galen know, but still not something you want to go through without knowing your partner really does care and would stop it in a heartbeat if you said no. He would, but then the game would be over.

Braden is still seething. He knew the secret. He knew what he was doing to Galen and now he wants the reaction he so craves, but doesn't get.

There is another secret in the end. One we don't know, but know it must be big. Do I dare to continue with volume 6 comes out? Who knows?

There's no direct sex in this book, but sexual actions. Extremely short and nothing to get overly excited about or even enjoy. These characters have no depth to them and really I couldn't care less if they all ended up dead. They just don't have anything I can relate to to make it worth reading.

My recommendation...just skip it.

On more thing...the covers...

One of the guy has hair on his chest, but in the next cover both guys are waxed. The first one shows no tattoos, while the second show them. If you are going to make covers of the same characters have some continuity to them please.

The good and bad of it

These books are hot. Like H-O-T HAWWWT

There are a few things I found disturbing, though

#1: Galen first sees/meets Eliza in a gutter with vomit all over her face, hair, etc., dirty clothing, cheap shoes... (you get the picture) and the first things he feels is attraction.
Really? Are you SURE you're not confusing that with repulsion?
He even threws her in a bath and 'fondled' her in the 'murky water.' Yeah., men (and woman) love thinking about sexy time in vomit and grime filled water. Cause Galen did.
Kinda unrealistic to me.

#2: Eliza.
I actually loved her character. What I had a small problem with was how she was described.
Hold on...lemme explain.
I like BBW books. I own quite a few. But with Eliza she was described as having a belly that hung over her thighs, dimpled chin and breast that hung far down as well. And EVERYONE was over come with lust over her. Seriously. The Sheikh, the Russian mobster, both billionaire brothers, even the woman fitting her for dresses in the shop. EVERYONE...
I believe in BBW beauty. I really do. But Eliza didn't fit the sexy-everyone-goes-into-heat-when-they-see-me kind of girl. Just being honest.
Reading about how her stomach hung over her thighs, how Galen grabbed rolls of flesh and wanted to climb her and mount her...well, it kinda grossed me out at times.
Just like I don't like ready about super skinny girls either.
That being said, I absolutely loved how she never had an internal monologue about body issues. So refreshing!

This book is crazy-sexy. Totally worth a read.

Just be prepared for a series of short stories
