Aurum: Screams of Decompose

Rate this book
Zombies, plagues, war, assassins… and death

The Gold Dragon, the most powerful of the Wyverns, sets into motion the events needed to end the Wyvern-Alicorn War and bring about the legendary Triple Twilight. This event is rumored to bring peace to the galaxies, and sate the legendary Decompose who spreads deadly plagues.

The key to success lies with a woman who has spent her entire life as an assassin, hunting magical creatures who impose their will on lesser beings—a definition that both the Gold Dragon and Decompose fit.

Success seems within the dragon’s grasp, but the encroaching Triple Twilight creates new desires in Decompose that even the Gold Dragon did not foresee.

I grew up in Nebraska and have moved all over America with my husband and three kitties, a rescued Abyssinian and her companion “calming kitten” Eek-a spunky tortie. And most recently a highly vocal stray born in our backyard–who is now a pampered house cat.

My first books are currently out of print that have been re-released as an abridged novella. They are a prequel to my science fiction novels, the Decompose Series: Amaranthine, Aurum, and Nacreous.

I now mainly write romance novels. Some of my romance novels were originally published by ManLoveRomance Press and have now been re-released. Kale’s Paroxysm-released April 2016 and Not a Big Deal in November 2016. Nosy Neighbors,, out September 2017, is my first paranormal romance. I also have a romance series about shape-shifting dragons, Enukara, which is 6 books long and the last installment came out March 2019. My science fiction romance series is about a character with god-like powers, The Gods of Earth Series, each is a stand alone novel that follows and leads up to an alien invasion! My most recent novel is a contemporary romance Mr. Perfect.

When the author sent me an advanced copy of the newest novel in her series, I didn’t hesitate to walk back into this creative and diverse world.
The main character behind the chaos: Decompose, or Dee as his friends call him, is at the center once again. Things have drastically changed and he isn’t the dark character I remembered from the other novels I’ve read in the series. Well, not until the Gold Dragon intervenes and tries to turn him into the dark monster he was.

Again, the mixture of genres helps to forth the heart of this story. There are also many other characters that come into play which, at times, can prove to be frustrating for any reader who’s becoming familiar with this author’s novels in the series. However, there is a glossary at the end of the book that helps put the pieces together.

If you like interesting worlds filled with dragons and unicorns, carefully laid out world building, and a plethora of characters, all with their own interesting backgrounds, then this is the book for you.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
