This is NOT a book of ghost stories. This is something else. One can say, it’s the casebook of an empath who senses the feelings of those who have departed. Accordingly we have here some of her experiences, thoughts, ruminations and ratiocinations. They take the form of narratives that are lyrical, sensual, rich and haunting.
After the 'Foreword' by Ipsita Roy Chakraverti, the book contains following stories:
1. Bhangarh's Trapped Souls
2. The Nightmarchers of Puri
3. God of the Elements
4. The Healing Code of Konark
5. Tryst with a Sultan
6. Pathways to Power
7. Who Walks on Marine Drive?
8. The Goddess Possessed
9. The Guardian Spirit
10. Diana's Chalice
11. The Night of the Soul Bell
12. In Service of Bedlam
There are also detailed notes for each story, so that the discerning reader may indulge oneself with further reading.
These stories invoke lots of feelings. At times they horrify. Sometimes they infuriate with tales of human ravage and loss. But mostly they talk about the lingering pain and need for closure and relief.
I liked them. If you have an open mind and think that the world around us can tell wonderful stories, then you may enjoy this book.

The book is a collection of real life, experiences of the author, who is somewhat of a clairvoyant and a psychic. She senses departed souls in various famous places, and has a method to the madness about it.

My favourite story is the course she experiences at Marine Drive in Mumbai; only read the book if you’re interested in the paranormal.

I rate it as such because I had different expectations.
I was hoping for more dramatic spirit encounters but instead was greeted with page after page of wordy & vapid historical fact. Most stories have just a couple of pages that relate to the title of story while another ten or so have lots, or dare I say, an overdose of quaint history which was not interesting for me. At all.
But I will congratulate the author after seeing an impressive and understandingly long bibliography at the end of the book. I picked up this book to read only because I really liked reading the Sacred Evil. And I’m still open to reading other books by the same author….

Well...the book is nice but as the writer says.. it's not fictional.
And I cnt bear much of factual books but still it was a good experiment to read.
The writer's experience with the supernatural are subtle but still gives goosebumps!
