The moment that Melissa Raymoor saw the small, rundown cottage sitting at the edge of the woods looking so neglected and forlorn, she was all in. Melissa knew that the little house needed a family as much as her little family needed it. The young widow longed for the tranquility that she was sure renting the home would provide for herself and her small son. What Melissa did not expect was to have their fragile peace interrupted by the fast living, foul mouthed, larger- than- life landlord who moved in next door. Crow Mathison knew that he frightened his tenant and not just a little. He had seen the look of terror written all over her face the moment she saw him. But he couldn’t deny it, thinking of Melissa gave him an adrenalin rush. Prissy, mousy, holier than thou, soccer mom Melissa. She was skinny, uptight and totally immune to the outlaw biker thing he had going on. She avoided him, ignored him and called him out on his bullshit every step of the way. And he couldn’t get enough of her. In the small town of Havengate, passions will ignite, secrets will be revealed and the past will come back to threaten the fragile happiness and trust that Melissa and Crow begin to build with one another. ********** This is the third installment of the Hells Saints MC series. It can be read as a standalone.

Hey all,
Just a few quick words about me. I was raised on the North Shore of Boston and born in Salem. Yep that Salem! My childhood neighborhood was filled with kids and there wasn't one part of it that wasn't magical. I draw a lot on those memories when writing. My latest book, Trailer Park Girls, is dedicated to my first grade teacher.
When I finished college I settled in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts where I raised my children and settled into a career in teaching. I wrote my first book, Raine Falling, in 2014, and have been writing ever since!

4.25- 4.50 RATING- I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I liked the first book in the series and recognized the potential of the author in that debut. Book two was a little disappointing. I thought the author did too much "telling" and not enough "doing". I almost put off reading this third book because of that. So glad I didn't!

Once I started reading I didn't stop. This is a bit surprising because even though the backdrop of this story is the MC there is almost no real action in this story. No violence, no grit. No suspense. The story focuses instead on the slow developing relationship between these two characters. There's no craziness. No major dramas. Just a simple story of two people trying to deal with their pasts and move forward that totally sucked me in.

Readers that expect a steamy read may actually be disappointed with the lack of sexy bits in the book. I like my romances HOT and while I definitely would have loved some dirty, nasty sex thrown in here and there (or everywhere), I enjoyed the book 100% without it. I'm shocked.

I'm still trying to figure out what I liked so much about this one without the normal guilty pleasure craziness and steam I usually need. I think in the end I loved the fall. From the first meeting until the end, I wanted these characters together. I wanted Crows broken heart to heal and I needed this HEA...and the author didn't disappoint. I loved this one.

Crow Mathison is looking for a timeout from the Hell Saints Motorcycle Club. Watching Raine and Diego so much in love and preparing for baby #2, is hurting his heart. The club Prez, Prosper, suggests he takes a sabbatical, of sorts. So he takes off to his property he acquired in his divorce from his ex-wife Jaci.
”Just put one foot in front of the other, Brother

Melissa Raymoor and her son, Jett, are trying to start their lives over since the death of her husband, Jesse, three years ago. Living with guilt and regret, she is a shell of her true self, living quietly in her cottage. They were enjoying their quiet life, when their landlord decided to not only visit, but to renovate and live in the main house. What was Melissa going to do with a biker, who was loud and obnoxious, but her son was totally idolizing?
Crow Mattison had not only come to town, but he had brought a storm with him

What Crow didn’t expect to be attracted to anyone, since he was attempting to heal his broken heart. But something intrigued Crow about Melissa. Why was she so guarded and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders?
And that smile made Crow feel like he had made the sun shine just for her. It made him feel like he alone had the power to push away the clouds, stop the rain and bring out the light. Calm you ass down, Crow

You should worry less, smile more….And fall in love

This is book 3 in the Hells Saints M/C series. Although it does have a different vibe than Raine Falling and Chasing Claire, it was more of a love story with bits and pieces of the m/c life. In Taming Crow, you get caught up on Raine/Diego, Claire/Reno and of course Prosper and his, what I like to call “words of wisdom”. The good news is there is a hint that Jules and Glory story is up next. I cannot wait!!!!

MC Marathon

Much better than second. But the first in the series was still by far the best written. Even though I hated the split person POV and multiple character POVs. Here, there are no POVs other than H/h. And both were in 3rd, so no more mix of 1st/3rd...thank fuck.

I've decided that this author writes a decent plot, but doesn't actually handle the ins and outs of the romance genre with total ease. She doesn't show the development well, but she writes a nice scene filled with all the right intensity/emotion...but nothing believable brought us to those points.

I disliked the tension between Raine and Crow...h from 1st book and H from this book. Probably because I think his more gentle nature would have been better for Raine than Diego's more dickheadish approach to relationships.

I also didn't like that he meets the h on the heels of fleeing the birth of Raine and Diego's second daughter cuz he couldn't handle the way things turned out. (o_O) Because I never saw the chemistry between the H/h in this book and I sure as fuck saw it in between the H and Raine in the first book...and, frankly, in both the second and third.

The h is sweet and you feel for her because of her widowhood and I don't mind her for the H...but I'm just not feeling it. And that's because the two were rarely intimate (not just sexually) and most of their interaction include others around or near. The few scenes alone were so short I kept trying to figure out when they'd just finally SPARK. And then they didn't.

It wasn't until 86% that they finally had "the talk" - as in discuss what the fuck they were doing as a non-sex having, non-spending time together twosome.

Quote
---
“That surprises you?” Crow was incredulous. “Christ. You’re gonna sit there and tell me you’re fucking surprised at what I just said? Tell me, baby, that you did not miss the signs that I have been throwing your way for goddamn months now. Please tell me that you did not miss my goddamn fucking intent..."
---
---
I didn't realize they'd even known each other "months" and I sure as fuck missed the "signs" he'd been "throwing her way" too...or maybe the reason he threw any.
And while I appreciate his effort to help her (read: force her to) let go of her grief, his methods left me cold. He was so gentle with Raine. He wooed her. I didn't feel like enough had passed between this H/h for him to expect things to be deeper with them or have the right to deliver such an ugly ultimatum to her.

Quote:
----
And suddenly he was done. “Yeah, Melissa. I’ll take you home. But you and this guilt trip? This is a ride you’re gonna be taking alone from here on out. So you need to do whatever you have to do to get your head straight or keep living alone in your fucked up world, because I can’t do this anymore. You see it a different way then you know where I am. But don’t you come knocking on that goddamn door until your head is where it needs to be to get us where we need to go. And one more thing…”

“There’s more?” Melissa managed to squeak out.

“I ain’t gonna wait forever,” he said to her. Then he walked to the bike and never once looked back to make sure she was following him.
---
---

This was filled with too much plot used to further the overall series story-arc. It left little to no room for the romance to successfully develop. This was also a problem in last book. Only the first book showed much room for growth and even then the overarching plot overwhelmed them at times as a couple.

Was it good? Sure.
Was it a standalone? No.
Would I recommend it?
Not really...it was low steam (92% before, you know;) and so slow I grew bored. the H is a bit of a dick without the romance build to allow him the latitude. And definitely not recommending the series after book 2. That ruined the series' vibe. Crow is the only H that doesn't fuck around on his h in either their book or one leading up to it. But then Crow had the relationship/obsession with the h from the first book....so....

None of this series' men were worthy H's.
Crow and Diego were ok.
But Reno and Jules...irredeemable.

I can't say enough about how amazing this book was. Five stars won't ever be enough, and this author just seems to hit it out of the park every single time. This series and this author have quickly become something I can't do without. Paula Marinaro is take your breathe away phenomenal. Book one was great, it was so great you almost get scared book two and what follows won't hold up but book two did just that and now book three has cemented Mrs. Marinaro in my list of favorite authors. This is one of my favorite books I have read this year and will be a re-read for me.

Crow was more than I ever thought he would or could be. Possessive doesn't begin to describe Crow, and I loved that he set his mind on Melissa and her son and that was it. Melissa grows so much in this book, and though she has been through so much she was perfect for Crow and I was so happy they found each other. Jett, Melissa's son was incredible, he was so sweet and added so much to this book. Yes Jett was cute but he wasn't just fluff added in a book to add cute, he was a great part of this book.

And then we get Prosper and Pinky. I have loved them both from the get go how could I not all they had been though and they were still so perfect, I fell in love with them a little more with each new book. And we get more of them in this book that makes me love them still more, we get to see how Prosper and Crow meet which just solidifies in my mind yet again that Prosper is just an extraordinary man. I am so glad I read this book, and I'm so glad I got to meet these characters that have become real people to me.

I can't recommend this book enough, this book is just so great that I want everyone to experience this special story. And of course I can't wait for book four. I hate the waiting, I am not a patient woman when it comes to these special authors but Paula Marinaro never fails to make the wait more than well worth it. This is one of those book you don't want to put down but also hopes never ends.

4 1/2 I love Crow Stars!!

I really liked Crow in Raine Falling (Hells Saints Motorcycle Club, #1) by Paula Marinaro and I wanted him to find his way to happy. This was a such a pleasurable journey to Crow finding his HEA. I loved it! Happy reading!

Crow was the much better hero option in Raine Falling, and shockingly enough is still the better hero. Marinaro didn’t do a Diana Palmer and have the hero turn on his own heroine once they get their turn. Yep, Crow is arrogant and bossy as hell, but he watches out for Melissa and Jett, the very cute plot moppet that he calls “little warrior”.

Additional humor with Jett and his little boy crush on the big, tough tatted MC guy.

Watching Jett’s interest in all things Crow Mathison had really begun to worry her. Last week Jett had dressed for school wearing one of Melissa’s bandanas tied across his forehead.

I can handle the hero being a magnificent horse’s patoot, but only if there is a big grovel or the heroine actually stands up for herself. It was a relief not having to endure another doormat.

A wonderful love story that I will read again and again when I want a book that will pull me into the lives of characters that I love to read about. Although this book is a standalone with no cliff hanger I would recommend that you read at least book 1, Raine Falling, in the series. We meet Crow in book 1 and let me say I have been anxiously waiting on his story. If you’re looking for a romance full of hot dirty sexy scenes this won’t be it. In fact there’s a lot of sexual tension but only one scene of actual consummation. But let me tell you, Crow is one hot sexy man and the sexually tense scenes this author put together will scorch you pants. This story focuses on two damaged individuals who have experienced love in the past but are both carrying so much emotional baggage it’s a struggle to recognize the love they share. Melissa has had a better life than Crow but she suffers from tremendous guilt for past actions and feels she doesn’t deserve to be happy. Crow suffered a horrific childhood and has a history of falling for women he thinks he can save. The love between Crow and Melissa slowly builds and you fall in love with a six year old child that is wise beyond his years. I liked Crow in book 1 but by the end of this book I was head over heels in love with him.
I loved catching back up with Prosper, Raine and Deigo. Prosper is one of my favorite characters in the book. He’s the president of the club and treats his guys like his sons. I hope that the author will give me Prosper and Pinky’s story sometime in the future. I believe their love story will be epic.
I highly recommend this book if you love a strong man who is alpha-possessive but at the same time can be so sweet and caring. This series and this book went into my favorite and read again folder. In fact I re-read Raine Falling prior to starting Crow and enjoyed it as much the second time around as the first. This author is gifted, that’s all I can say. I hope we get Jules and Glory’s story soon.

This is my favorite from the series so far and goes to my most favorite list of books too! No problematic heroes unlike the first 2 though Raine Falling was amazing despite that. I loved Crow<3 Melissa was an awesome heroine and lil Jett was cute. The scene where Melissa read her dead husband's letter made me emotionaland sealed the deal for a 5 star rating. Sweet and emotional book. Love!!

I liked this book, the whole series is pretty good if you like biker romance. My one issue with the story was I felt like it took too long for the hero and heroine to finally talk things out and get together. I felt like they spent a lot of time apart toward the end of the story that hampered their ability to work things out before the book was almost over. I also felt like she was too hung up over her grief for her deceased husband that it felt rushed when she suddenly was better, I wish she would have worked through more of her grief before finding the hero. Once they worked things out there was barely 10% of the book with them together and happy so I felt kind of shortchanged but the epilogue was cute.

~3.5 stars~

This was the first book I have read in this series, and I can honestly say, it read like a perfect standalone. I didn’t feel as if I was missing out on any history detail. Here is my breakdown:

The pros:
* Offered as a kindleunlimited
* A complete story with HEA
* Wonderful epilogue
* Loved this cover
* I loved Jett's character (the heroines son)

The cons:
* I found it overly predictable - pretty basic romance
* No real dilemmas in the plot - everything flowed almost too smoothly (if that makes any sense)
* I liked the hero in this read but personally would have preferred he were less arrogant
* I tired of the heroines mourning

Overall, I liked this book. It never really felt like a motorcycle club book to me though. It was a sweet romance though.

Yay! This was a highly anticipated book for me, and it lived up to the story...well, at least for me it did. I feel like each story I read in this series by Paula, gets better and better. I loved it!

I loved Crow- he was a great balance of bad boy biker and good, protective, sweet/gentle, good father figure kind of a guy. I really loved this guy. And thank you Paula for not making him out to be a cheater with any club whores.

I loved Melissa. Great mom. Great over all person. And I appreciated the real struggles she had to cope with over her loss, grief, and guilt. I think the story of her struggles rang true and I'm glad we were able to see her go through her struggles and feelings and they weren't summed up or skipped over.

what I loved:
1. Story flow- pacing
2. Crow
3. Some humor
4. Jules - mostly
5. Melissa and Jett
6. Melissa's family
7. The story line
8. Melissa's struggles and feelings for her ex and Crow
9. Crow and his patience and how he was with Jett and Melissa
10. Club drama but not over kill
11. No over top steamy scenes
12. Paula made me cry when she had Melissa read something. Ugh!!! :)
13. Epilogue
14. No instant love- couple had to work their way to it.

My only complaint- editing. Towards the end there were sentence structuring issues. Also, sometimes typo's like one sentence I had to read two times before I realized that the word that only had the letter T was missing the 'ime' portion. So small details like that. Overall, I was a happy reader.

I've had this book for awhile and just didn’t get to it. I had forgotten how much I love this author's writing. By chapter four I was in great anticipation waiting for Crow to walk into Melissa's life.

Crow's character in this story was difficult for me. Two things I don't remember from Raine. I don't remember him being an asshole to Raine like he was with Melissa. And, I don't remember him having a secret prolonged love for Raine.

Melissa, well geez there was nothing wrong with this poor sweet thing. A sad, grieving, guilt ridden widow. What's not to love and endear to.

I really didn't care for the way Crow treated Melissa in the beginning. I knew that would change but it was hard to read. And, where in the story that Crow claimed Melissa as his is a mystery to me, as it was to Melissa as well. So, the relationship build in the story didn't work for me.

I always love a story that has a badass biker being kind to a little kid. And the letter for Melissa was breathtakingly beautiful (tissue time!). Great read.

4 "you should worry less, smile more ... And fall in love" stars

I am so happy I did not give up on this series after my utter disappointment with the previous book.

Taming Crow is really good. I read the last 50% in one sitting despite the late hour.
I loved both Crow and Melissa, they are both strong individuals taking their life in their hands even when they aren't really sure what to do with it. They both forge ahead with whatever strength they have left.

"This is the end of it you know ... The end of what ? ... Life as we knew it"

Ms Marinaro still weaves many secondary stories with the main one which I love. Her so-called secondary characters have "enough meat" to them that you want to know more. And I still want to read Jules and Glory's story !

The only thing I found missing was strangely the MC part.
Although we read that Jules, Crow, and Melissa herself, worry about her acceptance of Crow's brotherhood, the whole MC world is quite muted in this book, almost in the background.

I am not a fan of books with ex-wives and widows because they usually have a lot of pining, but this worked. I was concerned that Crow was going to pine over Raine who was the heroine in the first book in the series and continue to treat Melissa like crap. I am not a fan of pining, but even though there is some pining, it was at a minimal. I read the first book but do not remember Crow at all so maybe that helped with not feeling Crow's pining over Raine.

I was irritated with the hero since I felt he gave his ex-wife everything who did nothing, but spend money but treated the heroine who worked really hard, like garbage. I was going to DNF, but didn't. It was an okay read. I loved the relationship Crow had with the heroine's son. Those were some of my favorite scenes. That kept me reading.

This book was a solid 5* for me. I loved it. I'm so glad that I got to read Crow's story. And got to know him better. I liked Melissa for him. I'm glad she got her head out of the sand. She would have totally been missing out. They were just what each other needed. I had a lot of moments with this book. I laughed, I cried, I even had a few WTH moments. When you get that much emotion, that's what makes a great book! I definitely recommend this one!

I am so excited about Glory and Jules' book. I have a feeling that it's going to be explosive!

Oh wow, finally a book I can once again put into my favorite books folder! It's been awhile (with so much wasted time on just-ok-books or even worse) since I could do this. I loved both h and H and h's little six year old son was just adorable. Hero has some good jealous and possessive moments. He is native american and I loved the little spiritual bits and pieces the author put in here and there. I haven't read the other books of this series yet but I will do it for sure. I didn't feel lost but I'm curious about the other brother's stories. I can highly recommend this book.

Crow and Melissa's story. Nice continuation of series although I wouldn't say it was "amazing". I liked Crow from the first book and was happy to see him finally get his HEA. I'm afraid in a day or two I'll barely remember it so I wouldn't say it's a book I'd want to reread.

Enjoyed this books better than the other that I read in the series even though I did enjoy that one too. This one stayed pretty solidly fixed on the story between the main couple. There was some MC stuff but not much. The heroine although a soccer mom type at least came from a background that helped her accept his outlaw like style.

Overall Opinion: This was actually pretty enjoyable. It was a easy read about getting a second chance at love. I love the single parent theme, and this didn't disappoint -- especially because we actually get some interactions between the H and the h's son. I really appreciated that the H wasn't stupid and hooking up with OW when things weren't exactly peach between the h and him...which is actually a change from a lot of mc romances. We know that he is part of the mc, but it kind of takes secondary place to the romance (which I didn't mind). My main issue was that they didn't get a lot of time together as a couple because of the issues the h was dealing with.

Storyline: This was Melissa and Crow's story. Crow decides to take a break from his club to get his mind straight, and ends up meeting with his lawyer to finalize the paperwork and take possession of his house (and rental house) after his divorce. Both houses need major work, but he is willing to take the job. He then meets "mousy" Melissa and her young son, Jett who are living in the rental house. He learns quickly that she might appear mousy but she has no issues with speaking up against him, and he decides that he likes it. There are some awkward, tense, and push/pull moments between the two for a while, but Crow continues to flirt and make it obvious that he wouldn't mind something more than the landlord/tenant relationship. Jett is in awe of Crow and follows him around, and they build a cute relationship. Eventually after some family, ex, friend, and past ghost drama the couple find their HEA.

POV: This was told in third person narrative with alternating the focus between Melissa and Crow.

Overall Pace of Story: Ok. I did skim a few parts, but not too bad. I do wish that they had some more time together as a couple, because they finally got together just at the end.

H rating: 4 stars. Crow. I liked how he didn't let melissa push him away. I loved how even when he was angry with her he didn't jump into hooking up with one of the club (or town) sluts, and how he verbalized his feelings and made her feel special even when she didn't feel it herself. I also loved how he didn't hesitate to bond with Jett, and they had a cute relationship.

h rating: 3 stars. Melissa. I got a little tired with her push/pull, but she was dealing with some heavy guilt. She was a good mom though, so that redeemed her in my eyes.

Sadness level: Low. It did address the loss of a spouse, which at times got heavy -- but I never needed any tissues.

Heat level: Low. One almost sex scene, and one sex scene...but they were kind of hot.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: This had a good amount of closure with a HEA ending. I would've liked a little more time with them as an official couple though. I did enjoy the epilogue.

Worth the $?: Yes -- because it was part of my kindle unlimited, but at $3.99 I'd still say yes.

Crow gets 5 on the droolworthy scale
The book gets 5 on the goodreads scale

I was not a big fan of the covers on Raine and Claire books, but this one; im soooo LOVING the cover, i cant explain it. 5 cover stars.

Crow and Melissa are not a likely match and they both have their mountains of issues standing in their way. Crow is struggling with finding his true connection. Melissa is running from her life and heartbreak after her husband dies and she is left alone with their son Jett. And in the aftermath she is consumed with regets and guilt. Needing change on so many levels, she moves from Boston and ends up as Crows tenant. The backdrop is heavy, and a good way to balance that out is a six year old boy. It works for me - and the connection between Jett and Crow only adds points to the droolworthy scale. The storyline has its fair amount of forward and backwards moments, and that can break or make a story. In this one it works, at least it does for me.

So i would not describe this series as gritty and raw, in this book there is not many action situations driving the story forward. That of course is not for everyone, and not always needed in a good story. But i would like it to had a bit more momentum, but at the same time, seeing as the focus was more on the emotional rollercoaster i can live with it as is.

This third book gets my biggest recommenations. I did not have issues with the flow and writing in the previous books, but reading this one i was thinking the writing was effortless. At least it was for me.

Let me sum this read up; Bookhangover

Melissa Raymoor loved her husband until the day he died. When she found out he had died she grieved and has not been able to shake that grief loose. Melissa's sole focus is her son Jett and when she meets her new landlord, Crow Mathison, she is unsettled.

Crow swears like a sailor, he is a biker, and tries his best to intimidate Melissa especially when he gets her hackles up and sees the feisty woman looming inside. Her son Jett is fascinated by Crow and Crow likes the kid so he sees no problem in spending time with him. Melissa though wants distance from Crow as he seems intent on pushing her to live again.

Crow has his own demons he is trying to chase away. He seems to have a knack for choosing woman who are unreachable. He has set his eyes on Melissa, but in order to have her she has to let go of the past. Crow only knows one way to do it, push her to face what she is missing, despite how much it hurts.

Another fantastic read in the Hells Saints Motorcycle Club. Crow has been a favorite since the first book and Melissa was a bit of a mystery. I thought this was brilliantly done and the story really takes time to cultivate the relationship between Melissa and Crow. 4.5 Stars.

4.5 second chance stars. I loved this book and these characters. I was excited for Crow's hea since we met him in Raine Falling. This did not disappoint. Crow and Melissa moved on together and had a great dynamic. I smiled, I laughed, I felt invested in their story. I love when a good man steps in to be a father figure and Crow was great with Jett.

Melissa had a lot of issues and yet, as with all PM heroines her many facets added up to a well rounded strong female lead.

This is definitely a second chance romance more than an MC book. But honestly, I could have cared less. The pacing and flow was just right for what was happening with them.

Half a star off because I felt the end was slightly rushed, but the epilogue put the smile back on my face.

Great installment to the series. Next up, Jules and Glory?? We shall see. Looking forward to it.

Loved this book just as much the second time round!

So glad I forgot to add a review initially, as it was lovely to revisit Melissa and Crow again.

Melissa’s son Jett added so much wholesome humour with his poorly timed, innocent call-outs. I could relate to Melissa dying a thousand deaths each time he spoke candidly, spilling the home truths as only a six year old boy could.

This book brings together a perfect balance of romance, family, brotherhood and club drama. The added bonus of both Melissa and Crow both having experienced being in long term relationships prior to meeting each other.

Now to go back and check out the books I may have missed from this series!

good but not great. I love Crow and I felt like Melissa was a good fit for him, but I just wanted more.
