The Lust List: Miles Riot #1

Heart Strings: The Devon Stone Prequel

Rate this book
USA TODAY Bestselling Series!
Before Devon Stone met Olivia Margot, his life was a train wreck, but he wasn't the only one.

Meet Miles Riot, the guitarist to the band on the rise, Tempest Ultra. The record labels are after them. The adoring fans are after them. The tabloids are after them.

Abigail Clarke is a music journalist--definitely not a paparazzi rat--who's been assigned to go on tour with the band. But for this small town, Texas girl, traveling with the chaotic and reckless crew is the opposite of fun. She'd much prefer the soulful twangs of an acoustic guitar in a coffee shop to the eardrum-assaulting riffs and violent mosh pits that Tempest evokes. Good thing she's a professional. Abby's certain she'll get her story one way or another.

Miles knows Abby will have plenty of drama to report. From rock star hijinks to deep, dark secrets, Abby has the power to bury this band before they're ever signed.

He'll have to keep a close eye on this woman to make sure she doesn't get in the way...

___

Mira Bailee, a beer-brewing librarian, has been writing leisurely, scholarly, and professionally for the past twenty years.

While she's always maintained a high standard of chaos in her daily routine, The Lust List allows her to pass on some of her hectic lifestyle to her characters. Her storytelling balances humor and pleasure with sincerity and conflict, providing a wild ride of human emotions.

In the past she studied filmmaking and screenwriting and determined what goes on behind the scenes is just as tantalizing as what's seen in front of the camera. This revelation is the basis for her inspiration for The Lust List.

Ugh. I was really not into this one. The hero was grumpy in a not-hot way, and all up in everyone's business. Plus he was a man-whore. The heroine was okay for the most part, nothing special but she was rather judgmental. I'm glad this was short, since I wouldn't have finished it otherwise.

I leave you with these quotes:

I look down at Abby. "What else you want?"

"Um, a cosmo."

Such a chick drink.

Uh, fuck off.

What do those other girls [groupies] have that I don't—except way less dignity?

Yeah, fuck off.

Abby's not like other women.

Of course not.

Abby, who appears to be avoiding my eye contact. But why'd she sit directly in my view if she didn't want me to see her? And why would she wear that sexy cream-colored dress that hangs off her shoulders if she didn't want me to look at her?

Fucking mixed signals.

Oh my god, would you just fuck off already?

she's on the road with a band to write a human interest piece and is asked to join them in the VIP section, she dithers. Should she stay by herself and people watch or should she go and let the unexpected happen. Seriously, she is to report on the band not random strangers at a casino.

Great

I would liked it to be longer. This is when I hate cliffhangers, because the next book isn't out yet. I can't wait for the next one.

Ok this book is a little shor 100 and some pages not to big but still a good read. So Abby is to travel with the band for one week and write a pice for her magshe works for. Not a sleazy tabloid story. Miles is the leader of the band and lead guitar but he is also a man whore but for some reason her want to get to know Abby. And after they seem to hVe finally got there it might all come crashing down. So enjoy this read and on to the next!!

This is a novella length prequel to a yet unfinished serial.

This is another one of those books where the H is a manwhore who suddenly meets a girl who makes him realize the error I of his ways. I will admit that it is somewhat better than others in that at least they are not proclaiming love, but things are still moving too fast to be normal for a 'good girl' journalist. Probably will not continue on with this one.

Mira Bailee is a wonderful story teller. Once again with her Lust List series she introduces us to her main characters and then begins peeling back the many layers of their true personalities.

The band Tempest Ultra is just now making the big time and as they go on tour they are being courted by 2 of the biggest record labels in the industry. So in typical rock star fashion they are living it up with booze and women. That is until journalist Abby Clarke comes along. All of the band members hate the paparazzi but when they first see Abby some the guys assume she's just another groupie and invite her onto their but to "get it on". As if that isn't mortifying enough once the groups manager introduces her as a journalist that will be traveling with them on the bus for the first week of their tour all four band members insist she be thrown off of the bus! They figure she's just like all of the other paparazzi looking to make them look bad so that she can make a quick buck.

Ms. Baliee introduces us to each band member and let's us see the surface of their personalities. At first we only see the rock persona that they put on but then we begin to see the real side of two of the band members. The first one is Miles Riot, the bands guitarist, who was definitely a man whore but for reasons he can't explain he has an attraction to Abby. (I really didn't like Miles at first but grew to love him as the book went on.) The other is Kennedy Riot, Miles' sister and lead singer of the band, who for some reason that we don't understand doesn't seem to want Abby to be anywhere near her brother.
Abby is a good girl who doesn't want to travel with the band. The whole rock scene is not her thing but if she wants to keep her job she has to suck it up. During the road trip Abby begins to shed her good girl skin and find she enjoys being a little bit bad. Abby is instantly attracted to Miles although she denies it to herself. But by the end of the book both Miles and Abby can't deny their attraction to one another any longer. But once they finally hook up temptation and deceit comes to light and what could have been may be over before it starts.
And this is where we're left hanging! I loved every minute of this book and read it in one sitting. I can't wait for book 2 to come out so I can continue reading Miles and Abby's story.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves rock band romance books. And if you've read any of the other Lust List books and liked them then you'll like this book as well.

A Review of Broken Strings: The Devon Stone Prequel (The Lust List: Miles Riot, Book 2) by Mira Bailee

Secrets and Lies - 5 stars

In this second book of the series, we pick up where we left off in the first book. I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that I don't really care for Kennedy. She is the one that snoops on Abby's computer and tells Miles that Abby is working for ScanalLust. Instead of confronting Abby with his questions, he goes to Eddie (their manager) and tries to have Abby sent away. Miles is attracted to Abby, even if he's not sure he can trust her or her motives.

Abby had considered giving ScandalLust information that couldn't hurt the band for the 50 grand, but she just isn't the type of person to do things like that. She hates the paps as much as the guys in the band. We learn more about Abby in this book and what makes her the person that she is.

"Abby Clarke is quickly learning Tempest Ultra is a band with secrets. She’s torn between following a juicy lead story and being loyal to Miles. She’s falling fast and is certain Miles feels it too. That is, until Miles’s behavior takes her by surprise, and one night changes everything."

Once the two of them come clean with each other, they will make a dynamite team to take on Kennedy and ScandalLust. Can she help him keep his one big secret and get the band signed or will they fail at making it as a duo. Will we get to hear her sing with Miles? So many questions to be answered in the next book. I am loving this series and looking forward to the next book.

I absolutely loved the first set of books in the Lust List Series featuring Devon and Olivia. Now she introduces us to Miles and Abby.

Miles Riot is a rock star. Abby Clarke is a music journalist who is invited by the bands manager to travel on tour with them. Needless to say the bands not thrilled about someone especially a reporter being on their bus and Abby is none to thrilled because their type music isn't her cup of tea. Abby also is the girlfriend of Devon Stone but the attraction between her and Miles is almost instant and intense. Will they give into temptation? Will Abby bury the band exposing secrets she learns on tour before their able to sign a contract?

I loved this story. Ima huge fan of Mira Bailee as she grabs your attention and keeps you hanging at the end of each book but the waiting is so worth it. I liked both Abby and Miles and how Mira introduces the character and then starts peeling back the layers. I can not wait for the next book.

Lovers of Rock Star romances of just romances period, Heart Strings is a must read. I absolutely loved it and am sure you will too.

Mira never disappoints. This is her first book in the Mile's Riot series. Miles plays a guitar in a up and coming band that is slowly rising to stardom. He's a sexy playboy but also helps to keep the band in order. Abby is a journalist who is looking for a big break in her career. When he boss tells her that she is assigned to tour with Mile's band for a week she is certainly not happy. Abby is a good girl who doesnt like rock bands or their followers. But she wants to prove herself to her boss, so she accepts the position. At first Mile's band is not happy about having a reporter follow them around, but soon they grow to not care that Abby is traveling along. Mile's thinks he can get the reporter in his bed but Abby proves to the guitarist/backup singer that he is a bad boy which she will not play with. This book does end with a cliffhanger and will leave you dying to read the next one. I have recieved an ecopy for an honest review.

I can't deny it, I am totally hooked on this series, if you are not familiar with the lust list, these books focus on the private lives of the rich and famous, we've followed the lives of Devon and Miles stone heirs to a multi billion dollar music industry.
Now we follow Miles Riot, lead member of an up and coming band, with a whirlwind tour, being courted by the top music companies fighting to sign them and no shortage of groupies but there's plenty of drama within the group as well as the seedier side of drink and drugs.
Miles thinks he has it all till Abby enters his life, she's not part of his world but they are irresistibly drawn together, be prepared for mistrust and misunderstanding that could tear them apart before they've even began.
A quick read but one I was totally absorbed in - can't wait for part 2 !

Heart Strings is the first instalment from this new serial by Mira Bailee.

This was a quick, fast paced intriguing read, that held my attention and overall I really enjoyed.
Unlike, the original series, Heart Strings was told from a dual POV, which I much prefer as it helps get an insight into our lead characters.

Heart Strings is about hot rocker, Miles Riot and the seemingly quieter country reporter, Abigail Clarke. They were both really likeable characters and I enjoyed their gradual build up before relenting to their sexual chemistry.

One of the shining lights for this serial, is that there is a rich supporting cast that seemingly add to the storyline.

Of course, this ends on a WTF moment, but it's certainly led me to looking forward to the next instalment, Broken Strings.

So far I am liking this series better than Devon and Olivia. First, this series has dual pov's. I can feel the chemistry between Miles and Abby more than what I could between Devon and Olivia. Abby is a simple, down to earth music journalist who is forced to do things outside of her comfort zone. Miles is the typical rock star who is with a different girl every night. Devon makes an appearance in this book, in a time way before he meets Olivia. Kennedy is Miles sister who loves to cause drama. Miles is only interested in Abby because she tells him no. The more he works on trying to wear her down, the more he realizes that he actually likes her. The way this book ended has me excited for the new series.

Great start to the series featuring Miles Riot, guitarist and songwriter for the band Vitriol/Tempest Ultra. The band's manager, Eddie, thinks it would be a great idea to have a journalist accompany the band on tour to get a story and more exposure. That journalist is Abby, who is not pleased to get this assignment. Miles wants her, if just for a night. Abby wants Miles, but doesn't want to be like all the other girls, one and done. Will they both let their guards down and see what can develop between them, or will someone try to sabotage it before it even gets started?

So far, love the character development. Nice to see Devon Stone make an appearance, even if it's not in the best light. Can't wait to see where this story goes.

Very different from Devon Stone, but I still loved it! Miles is not a copy of Devon which makes me so happy, but he does a have few similarities that you can't help but love. Abby was someone who I liked from the start. She has a great personality and I thought her and Miles balanced each other out, even thought they aren't a couple. The cliffhangers Mira Bailee likes to always leave her readers with are such a pain, but of course, I love them! This one in particular makes me really angry at a certain someone who bugged me so much in Devon's story and continues to in Miles'. I'm not saying any names though! Overall, loved this installment and I can't wait for the next two!

ARC Review!

I like Miles and Abby together, and the whole prequel to Devon completely kept my attention. I did not like Kennedy from the beginning something about her felt off from the start and with the way the book ended left me wanting more but I was not surprised that it was Kennedy who decided to start trouble. Miles Riot comes off dark and mysterious, and underneath that whole bad boy exterior is a the man that takes care of everyone in the band; Abby considers herself a serious journalist dreading following a rock band for a week but deep down she is dying to just let go.

What does a rock band guitarist and a music journalist have in common? Not much. Or so it would seem.

Miles was in a guitarist in a new and upcoming band. His life was a mess. But whose wasn't in the band. When someone suggested hiring a journalist to write story on them it was something of twist to everyone.

Abby was a journalist whose job it was to write a story about the new rising band and their stars. But what happens when the write becomes close to one of the stars. It could be a disaster or it could be wonderful. Just which will it be for Abby and Miles.

I received an advanced review copy from the author for a honest review.

This is definitely an excellent addition into the life of Devon but, it's not his story being told. We get Miles. He seems such the dark and brooding type. We don't know much about him yet the small glimpse into his life we see I'm really digging.

I'm disappointed with the ending. How did Ken get access and quite predictable.

This book is adorable, then it's hot, and then it leaves you completely freaking out! I cannot wait to see how Miles and Abby find their way in and around all the obstacles they are reach... This is an excellent addition to the "Lust List" series, and it's a prequel so you get a little taste of Devon and Kaiden, as well. It'd you have read the other lust books, you will agree that you can never get enough of the Stone Brothers...I am excited to read the next book in the series!

Sexy Rock Star? Hell Yes!

This was a short read but the author created a captivating story. You've got rock music, sexy tattooed alpha male, plenty of Drama from all sides, and the ever necessary, innocent and sweet heroine. That was quite the ending for a cliff hanger. Do I want to know more? Well of course. Would I recommend this to someone? Sure, why not. It's short but good.

I liked this book and am ready to continue Abby and Miles story in the sequel. The book was short and sexy. More angst is sure to follow, and heartache is inevitable. Abby is a music journalist who has to take a tour with a rock band that she does not really like. She does however like the lead guitar player Miles. I like that the book hinted more at the sex than actually describing it.

Wow!!

Loved the story, but not sure how I feel about the characters. The guys are so egotistical (guess you it comes with being a rock star), but Kennedy is a witch with a capital b. Even though rough times are ahead for Abby and Miles (Abby had to have been set up), l'm looking forward to the next book to see what direction this relationship takes.
