This simple non-fiction text about hedgehogs worked surprisingly well in storytime. The pages have just the right amount of text (including interesting facts) paired with clear photographs. I skipped the last "Other Spiky Animals" page, but it's a nice addition for an independent reader or one-on-one pair.
