About the author

Rachel Anne Cantor grew up in New Jersey and now lives in New York City. She is the author of Weird But Cute: Beluga Whale, Tiptoe Into Scary Places: Haunted Amusement Parks, Countries We Come From: Australia, Austria, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Nigeria, and Pakistan. Her short fiction has been published in several literary magazines, including The Sandy River Review, Metamorphose, and Stork. Rachel graduated from Emerson College with a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing.

This book discusses the animals, culture, language, and jobs that Cuba has to offer. There is a lot of general information about the country, so this would be a good book to generate some ideas and then have students, once they pick a topic, look for other literature that is related to said topic. This is a very colorful book and has great pictures.
