it took me 10 MONTHS to finish this but i finally did LOL. great storyline as usual. nothing much to say bc it’s not meant to be that deep. personal note I KEEP THINKING THIS IS SET IN TAIWAN NOT JAPAN because it’s in 繁体字???? such a me problem because i can’t read japanese anyway so not like i can change the language to orientate myself. aaaaanyways. favourite of this book is the troublemaker student storyline that I FORGOT had appeared in a previous volume (because i’d read 1 and 2 so long ago) and it was further developed here! and i don’t know if it’s wrapped up but we’re on a really nice trajectory right now :)
Yuzuki's effect on Sumire is really touching. It's rare to see any kind of series present a child as an independent entity capable of thought. This series has such graceful complexity in all regards.
Sumire really grows throughout her few appearances in the series... she lashes out because of a lack of attention and care from her single mother and the incredibly messy home she lives in... she slowly opens her heart and becomes a little softer for it... then she extends the same kindness she felt to another lost child... she discovers what she wants to do for a living... very lovely stuff.
