Books in Hacker series should be read in order:
Book 1: Hardwired
Book 2: Hardpressed
Book 3: Hardline

I read the Hacker series book 1-5 while sick. What a treat. I wish I had time to write reviews.

Five full-length novels read in no time, I guess you could say I devoured them. This series deserve way more attention than it’s getting! Blake Landon carried the story! 6-star shelf.

I feel I should mention that this book will set you back $8.99 which is ridiculous because it's a debut novel.

This story was all over the place although it did have a few good moments. Unfortunately the execution was lacking. The heroine came across as bipolar, her mood swings gave me whiplash, the hero was supposed to be controlling and possessive, unfortunately this was not the case. He was constantly walking around on egg shells because of the heroines fragile sanity!

There wasn't enough detail in some very important scenes, I'm not sure what else to say... I found it boring and generic, I've read a lot of books that used a plot that is popular like this one and it can work. But you have to bring something new to the table, a billionaire hacker did not cut it for me.

There were two different side stories in this book, I felt like they were fillers and had no place in the grand scheme of things. I needed more information about the character but none was given, this is a full length novel so there is no excuse.

The plot was weak...

WHAT??? If you haven't read this yet you better jump on this!!!

Purchase links can be found at:Hardwired http://bit.ly/18BTh6X

I came across this one on facebook and read a few of the excerpts which peaked my interest greatly. It has a very familiar premise: Hot billionaire somewhat dominant guy, equally (yet unassumingly so) hot younger woman with a difficult and traumatic past.

WARNING!!!!!!!!
If you are not a fan of some of the recent series with these kinds of characters this may not be the book for you! I honestly don't understand why people who do not like these types of stories continue to read every new series that comes out and then gives it bad ratings and talks a lot of crap about it when obviously it's not your thing! I say that because I am sure that this will happen with this book as well. Also, if you're one of those people who believe that there is only room for one dominant billionaire man on the planet then you won't want to read this book either. You'll spend the entire time comparing Blake to your precious Christian, Gideon, or Jesse...

Now that - that has been said. I LOVED IT!!! It did have some familiar aspects to other series as I mentioned but the main story was definitely something different down to the gasp worthy twist at about 90% in! The few typos, price, and the similarity factor is what prevented me from giving it that last star.

If you're skeptical let me tell you why you should give it a shot. First and foremost the heroine of this book did not make me want to run over her with my car repeatedly to get her to shut up or throw a brick at her because of her stupidity. Erica is strong and ballsy and she goes for what she wants. She isn't some waffling wallflower who doesn't have direction. Despite her past she is an entrepreneur who is determined to take her company as far as it can go. With that said she has had a traumatic past, so she does at times push Blake away and run away from him. It's never for too long or to the point where you're ready to just throw the book across the room. Most of the time you get it. Both Erica and Blake are used to being in control of and Masters of their own Universe when you have two people like that trying to be together they are going to clash.

There is some kink, a spanking here or there, and some domination but it's not a bdsm story and it worked well for this couple. The side characters have an interesting story and I am excited to see how that all works out. I also genuinely enjoyed Meredith Wild's writing style and the humor and passion in this one. It would be the perfect read if you are coming off a really emotional book. This is the first book of a series so this book does pose questions that are yet to be answered, yet I wouldn't consider it to be a huge cliffhanger if that type of thing matters to you.

I enjoyed reading the book. Many say it has similiarites with Fifty Shades of Grey, I disagree. Erica, the main character is not afraid to voice her opinion even when she is around Blake. I didn't feel she was submissive at all. Erica is very determined and stubborn especially around her baby-her business ventures. I thought the plot went very fast, I would've wanted to see more tension amongst the characters, but I guess all will be developed in part two of the series. Reading Hardwired reminded me of Bared to You; there were some scenes especially towards the end of the book, that reminded me of the novel. I think Erica and Eva(From Bared to you) share some similarities in relation to their personal lives before meeting their significant others. When it came to the intimate scenes, I thought they were brief but to me that did not affect how the characters felt for one another.

I am not a professional book reviewer, but I hope it helps for those interested in reading the book.
Can't wait to read the second installment.

Amazon, how could you do this to me. Your recommendations have always been so good. I trusted you to give me good smut with a back story worth reading and this is what I got?

Our main characters, Erica and Blake stumble upon each other when Erica trips over her shoe while exiting a restaurant. She falls right into the arms of the enigmatic and handsome, dominating billionaire....Blake. (You thought I was going to say Christian didn't you?)

Erica is our recent college grad who is starting up an online business that helps people with fashion. Now, Erica is looking for funding for her little enterprise. So when she shows up at the big sales pitch and sees Blake, she is thrown a bit. And in true domineering asshat fashion he shoots her business and brains down and finds a way to see if she is single all in one fell swoop.

Erica immediately wants him and hates him at the same time! Oh, but he wears the most amazing clothes and he wears them so well!

Erica has some issues of her own. She is not easily led astray. She wants nothing more that to be successful.

But how can she resist a man who takes control the way Blake does?

She just can't resist. Those damn hormones will get you every time ladies!

She tries to resist but she just can't get over Blake's persistence.

So when Blake starts controlling her life and finding ways to get her under his thumb, this smart Harvard grad lets him.

After all, the make up sex is the best.

But wait, Erica does stand up for herself. She runs away... far, far away. And then texts him to say "I miss you". And when he shows up giving her the cold shoulder, she is confused.

But its all good, because here comes the sex.

And then she realizes she is in love with this crazy man. She would do anything for him. Including not question how he seems to know her every move.

Because he just has make up sex and she forgets about it. (Harvard Grad...remember.)

Let us not forget that this is one of those books...

I really hate when authors feel the need to describe outfits to death. I don't care what color of V neck sweater he wore to a T. And I really don't care what shoes you used to pull the outfit together.

By the end of this book I was even skimming the sex scenes. I apologize to the author but for some reason I really did not like this one.

I gave this one two stars because I finished it, albeit barely. And because when Erica and Blake first got together, the sex was hot. I just couldn't buy into the story. By the end, I found myself skimming. I read ludicrous passages out-loud to my husband, who got a good laugh out of it. Erica was SO immature.

There were significant issues that were underplayed and small issues that were overplayed. Where was the editor on this one? Some of the dialogue was just painful. Erica was not very likable either. She threw her friend under the bus several times and was plain old nasty to her. Then Blake told her she couldn't be friends with her anymore. WTF?

So, 2 small stars for me. This book got high marks from other readers so I would advise checking out their reviews first. It might just be me.

Let us begin by saying: we basically devoured Hardwired. There’s something about a tough-as-nails, though slightly damaged, female that we just can’t resist. Pair that with a smoking hot billionaire, and we’re hooked. Blake’s possessiveness and mystery only add to his sex appeal.

This novel moves at a good pace, keeping the reader involved and present in the story. It is incredibly well-written and the relationship between the characters unfolds in a natural way. Erica is right to guard her emotions, having been the victim of a traumatic experience. But Blake pushes past all of her defenses and infiltrates himself into her life in a way that makes him irresistible. Add to this the fact that he has a proclivity with computers and can therefore find out anything about anyone. This makes him a bad boy with a nerdy edge, a refreshingly original angle. Not to mention his uncanny ability to show up when Erica needs him most . . . it’s just so hot.

Speaking of hot, the sex scenes are out-of-this-world descriptive. Out. Of. This. World. And the ending leaves the book wide open for a second, but we still didn’t feel unsatisfied by the cliffhanger. Add this to your TBR lists, people. And, Meredith, get writing!

Honestly, the thing I'm gonna remember most is that she shares a plate of calamari with two different friends on two different occasions. The hacker part was, surprisingly, the most convincing and interesting part; the fashion app isn't even used, the sex is repetitive and subpar (I really hate having to reread to figure out she just did the move I thought she did), and the billionaire boyfriend is a controlling cliche.

Throw in the damaged past, a shit ton of grabby guys, and family coincidences, and I'm done. This feels like it's trying too hard to be Gideon-Eva, and whatever flaws that series has, the chemistry between those two burns up the sheets. You're told about the attraction between these two plenty, but I personally never really felt it.

ETA: holy crap, there are FIVE books in this series! Man. <.<

This is me the entire time... sigh.

I kept searching any controlling streak in the male lead... I must have missed it?

And I was really concerned by the heroine personality... Schizo? Mood swings?

All in all, the blurb sounded appealing to me, but it fell short really quickly, I never connected with any of the characters, and the lack of environment description didn't help me getting into it. Side characters and plots were truly unnecessary.
I expected to be entertained, but this was really a boring story, typical billionaire storyline who get obsessed with a damaged girl.

I should have known this ship had sailed when I started skimming through the sex scenes...

This book is currently available at AMZ at the price of : 6.78$. Call it a very bad investment. :/

4 (Pursue your dreams and you may snag a billionaire) Stars

Hardwired is the first book in the very popular Hacker series. Hardwired is told from the Ercia’s POV.

Erica is a single girl trying to launch her on-line fashion website. < ---- completely me. Fun fact, I have a fashion blog. But I digress. She just graduated from Harvard and now she wants to focus and expand her site, but she needs investors. She snags a meeting with potential investors and pitches the idea.

Blake happens to be one of the investors.

We all know where this is going and … oh.my.

Things I totally got…

- Single girl struggling Check < - Love a damsel and a fashionable damsel is even better!

- Billionaire with control issues with a dominate personality Check < --- Um… hello, my perfect guy

- Sex and lots of it Check

I liked the beginning. I like a struggling Heroine. Yes she graduated from an Ivy League college, but she isn’t super rich and she is going after her dream. I admire her for that. She’s sassy and has a take-no-prisoner attitude. She’s super focused on her goal that she doesn’t want or have time for a relationship.

Blake is instantly attracted to Erica and he wants her. And he always gets what he wants. He likes to be in control and he has means to back it up. He’s super rich, successful and very powerful. I really liked Blake. I liked how caring and thoughtful he was. He always thinks of Erica and he doesn’t play games. He is also a bit mysterious. There’s something about his background and it kind of pulls you in.

Are you always this persistent?

Only when I see something I want

He has this crazy confidence that just makes you drool over him.

Erica is a bit flighty. It will make you pull your hair out, just a tiny bit. But, it adds plenty of tension and angst to the read. She doesn’t fully trust Blake because he is a play boy and she also doesn’t want to lose herself by being attached to a man. Erica also has a past and Blake tries to break down her walls. It adds more drama and some mild tension.

Erica, one horrible experience doesn’t define you.

There are plenty of twists and turns towards the ending and you will be panting for more!

4 HOT, MYSTERIOUS, HACKING STARS!!

Okay so when I saw this cover I was like ooh this looks like a dark or BDSM book, the cover is pretty mysterious and doesn't give much away.Anyways its none of those but it is very good. I need more especially with the way things were left at the end ooh can't wait for book 2.
If you are not into the whole rich alpha male characters and similar storylines to 50shades and so on I guess this really isnt the book for you!Every character is different and so I don't think there is any point in comparing them or hating on the book because of it.

So this book is in female POV so yeah all in Erica's POV which is great but still I wish it had some male POV so I could understand Blake more.He is pretty mysterious and confusing at times, it would have been fab to see things his way.Hopefully in the next book his character will be explored more and become more open as I felt he was pretty closed off in this one.

Erica is a just graduated Harvard alumni that is the founder and operator of Clozpin, an online social/fashion site. She launched the site with the help of her friends who all seem to be moving on to other things but this is her dream she wont let it go.
When she is out with her late mother best-friend, someone who has become a mother figure to her she runs smack bang into a hot mysterious stranger..

"Are you all right?"
His voice vibrated through me.My knees weakened a little at the sensation. His arm tightened around my waist in response, bringing our bodies infinitely closer.

When she arrives at arrives at a very important meeting to help get Clozpin up and running with more traffic and audience her nerves are all over the place. And then in walks the mysterious stranger that she ran into. Oh and it gets worse he decides to put her on the spot with question after question and his arrogant behaviour irritates Erica to no end.
Blake Landon always gets what he wants and when he spots Erica Hathaway he is intrigued and captivated by her drive and ambition. She isn't some easy woman though which only makes Blake want her more.I hate it when in book the women pushes the guy away too much its like C'mon you know you will get with him in the end, is this all necessary?

"Baby, this is who I am.I'm hardwired this way.And if I'm trying to take control over the situation, please understand that I have very solid reasoning for it."

I think Erica's best friend Alli kind of pushed her away at times I get it but she should have been more open and it felt like whilst Erica was being pushed away from her friend she was then pushing Blake away and I was like omg stop it!

"Clothes, off," I ordered, directing him with my index finger..."Shouldn't we talk about this?"..."Did I stutter? Clothes. Off." I cocked my head, daring his to argue.

80-90% a lot changes and you are like whaatt? ohhh this is great give me more and you just need to know more by the ending!
When past traumas and present issues clash things could take a turn for the worse.
Blake decides to look into Erica's past and finds some crucial stuff, little does he know that this could put Erica in danger.Trying to protect Erica isn't that easy and then things about Blake's past are revealed. There is a whole lot more than meets the eye..

4.5 stars 2024 Reread

There’s really 5 books in this series? 😅. Damn. My past self really loved all the drama 🤣

Erica (21) has just graduated college and is ready to tackle on the business world. She pitches her fashion social network Clozpin to a bunch of men, including the hottie she bumped into before, Blake (27).

Blake says no to backing her project 😬 yet he has the audacity to ask her out 🤦🏻‍♀️ (she says no of course- he just humiliated her during her pitch). That doesn’t mean she can’t stop thinking about him though 😅.

When she goes on a trip to Vegas for work, she finds out he kind of orchestrated her being invited 😅 and that’s when she decides to finally cave into the tension that they both feel 👀.

But it’s only gonna be one time, right? 😅😬

What I liked/loved:
—the 🔥. Uffff. There’s a looooot 🫠. By 24%, everything happens 🔥😅🫠💦. Even when they’re arguing, it happens 😉😅

—he enjoys eating cereal 😮‍💨. Gotta make sure she feels good

—how JP and MINEMINEMINE he is 😈. Blake dislikes that men exist 🤣

—the OMD 😈. Gotta keep Blake on his toes 🤣👏🏻

—the mystery element 👀. Even though I read this years ago, still trying to remember, who’s behind what 😅. I’m sure it’ll come back to me 🤣

—how protective Blake is 🫶. Erica . Girl. Why are you giving my man Blake a hard time 🤦🏻‍♀️. So he does some research and shows up randomly 🤡 he’s just trying to make sure you’re okay 🤷🏻‍♀️. Give this man points for trying 👏🏻

—Blake’s audacity 😈🤡. I get it 🤣

—Erica being experienced 💅. I love that she knows what she wants 👏🏻

What I didn’t like/wanted more of:SPOILERS
—Alli irritated me 😐. While I understood some parts, I was frustrated with her lack of communication and ghosting of Erica 😐

—the owd 😒. Sigh. I vaguely remember this, but I hope this ow doesn’t cause more trouble 🙄

Overall, I loved this reread 👀. It’s been toooo long

I have been hearing about this Hacker series for quite some time now, and have seen it compared to Fifty Shades.. I thought, why not give it a try? First of all, I don't think it needs to be compared to the other trilogy, as I did think that majority of it stood alone within its own story. Yes, there is a millionaire, but Blake is different then Christian. Not only does he have his own business's; but he has quite the past which includes rumors of him being a hacker at one time. He even almost went to jail for his hacking skills. The question remains though, does he continue to use those skills, or has he cleaned up his act fully. Blake Landon has secrets, there is no doubt about that. He also falls very hard for an aspiring business owner/college student named Erica. They meet when she is pitching the idea of her business to a group of investors. Blake gives her a run for her money, and makes her presentation very difficult. Even though, she sees a sexy man in front of her, she doesn't like him at all. He is persistant though, and eventually these two begin an explosive affair! Erica is not all she seems to be either though, and the secrets that are hidden in her past, are doozies. When they are revealed, Blake will do anything in his power to try and erase the pain and suffering that has been delivered to HIS Erica.

I found the story to be a very slow start. In fact, the first 50% dragged on for me and it was just a little too much detail into the business aspect of Erica's life. When I read a romance novel, I enjoy the romance, the sex, and also the secrets etc...The good news is that it did pick up, and once it did I became way more interested in what was going on. Erica and Blake both have secrets under their belts, and we do learn some of them. I am sure in book two there will be more to come; and I do look forward to finding out more. I did become annoyed with Erica's somewhat, hot and cold attitude towards Blake. He seems to be fully invested into her in all ways; where as she gets upset and immediately walks away from him. I found this to be frustrating, especially because she would walk away, and then pine for him the whole time they were apart. It got to me at times, and I'm hoping that theme will not continue in Book two. Blake did deserve some of the grief she gave him though, as he over steps her boundaries more than a few times. So, he has a lot to learn as well. I do look forward to seeing if this couple will grow as individuals, as well as a couple in Book two. This is for sure a trilogy that I will continue, and hopefully enjoy right to the end.

Hardwired by Meredith Wild is a love a story and so much more. The book is told in first person by Erica Hathaway; she is a fresh graduate from Harvard University, entrepreneur of her own Internet start-up fashion site–the company that she has poured her life into imagining and creating out of nothing. The company is her passion. She is alone in the world except for her mom’s best friend Maria and her two business partners, Allie and Sid.

Enter Blake Landon; he literally bumps into Erica, and the sensual sparks fly. Sexy and devilishly handsome, he is every woman’s fantasy man. The bump is short and sweet, but it leaves Erica with fantasy material, as the girl has no time for a social life. Psst, he is a billionaire control freak but a likeable billionaire control freak. He is going to have problems with ‘all career’ Erica and that is just how it is going to be. Her company is her single-minded focus, and she is a driven individual; she doesn’t have time for a man. So begins the journey of Erica and Blake meeting.

What I like about this book is that the plot was multifaceted. First you had the story line of Erica and her partners trying to get capital to grow their business. Erica and her partners Sid and Allie are having growing pains. They are all newly graduated from Harvard and expected to make their lives in the big bad non-academic world of real life. Each of the partners aren’t just cardboard cut out place holders in for the main romance plot. They are three-dimensional characters who have their own lives. Sid isn’t as fleshed out as Allie, but I expect that to happen as the series progresses.

Then, of course, you have the love story between Blake and Erica. No, this isn’t ‘I fall at your feet and worship you because you are a billionaire time’ for Erica. This is ‘I fight tooth and nail to ignore the pull for the billionaire and stand up for myself time’ for Erica. Hey, the girl is a scotch drinker, and I expected nothing less. If she would have drank one of those fruity drinks, then all bets were off. Now I just need to know her brand to know how committed I will be to Erica. Yes, I’m a Scotch snob. Sue Me.

Then there was a very interesting plot twist in the book revolving around Erica’s past, and guess what? I am not going to spoil it for anyone. But boy, it is a big blow-up-the-book type twist. This was an enjoyable book with characters I can’t wait to read more about, as there is a sequel coming entitled Hardpressed.

I devoured this book like it was candy. Blake is a hottie who is also a smartie, and that had me INSTANTLY hooked on his character. I see a lot of myself in Erica and I enjoy that she doesn't just give into Blake because he has charisma but because he puts effort into claiming her as his.

I was given a copy of Hardwired for an honest review.

OMG.... This book was freaking AWESOME. I fell in love with the story concept and the characters. Awesome work Meredith Wild. You really know how to write a story and keep your readers interested. I gave Hardwired 5 fantabulous shining stars.

Erica Hathaway is a recent Harvard graduate. She is also one of the co-founders of Clozpin, an online social/fashion site. Erica founded it along with her best friend Allie and the programmer Sid. Now that they have graduated, the pressure is on to find the funding that is necessary to expand and to continue growing their business.
The book begins with Erica pitching her business to potential investors at Angelcom. During this meeting Erica meets a potential investor named Blake Landon. She immediately recognizes him as the man she literally ran into the previous evening. In that first couple of seconds of meeting Blake, Erica felt an instant attraction to this stranger. When Blake ask Erica a personal question about her relationship status during the meeting Erica believes Blake to be a misogynist prick. Blake then proceeds to pass on investing in her business. However, Max a friend of one of Erica's Harvard professors, is still interested. He sets up a future meeting with Erica to go over everything in depth details.

What I liked about Erica is she is a no-nonsense type of girl. She is determined to get her business to succeed at all costs. I like the fact that even after the horrible thing that happened in her past she is strong. I felt I could relate to her in the fact that she wanted to do this (make her business succeed) on her own. I found myself rooting for her. As the story continues Erica comes face to face with the man who did a horrible thing to her. What makes it worse is he is family now.

After their business meeting, Blake decides he must have Erica. Erica finds that even though she is majorly PISSED at him for the way he treated her during the interview,
she can not seem to deny the intense sexual attraction she feels for him. I could feel the intense sexual attraction these two possessed for each other. Their are many HOT scenes in here and LOVED every minute of them. Eventually we discover that Blake has a possessive, controlling, dominant side. Which is what drew me to him. I just swooned over this man. Even though he is possessive, and controlling, he is also protective, and gentle. Blake Landon is definitely a new favorite book boyfriend of mine.

In closing I have to say I LOVED Hardwired. It is extremely HOT and SEXY. I am so excited to see where the next book Hardpressed will go. Hardwired is one of my favorite books this year. I will definitely continue to tell people how wonderful this book is. I am also interested in finding out what happens with Allie and Heath. Hopefully we will get more of their budding romance also.

I've heard so many things about Meredith Wild and the "Hacker" series that it was a must for me to read it a.s.a.p. Being an international best seller author means so much professionally that you know the book is going to rock your world. Buuuuuut.. it did and it didn't.. mixed feelings about it.. I've only read the first book and maybe better things are to come for this one.

So, "Hardwired" is the first book from the series and tells us the story of Erica and Blake, two very different people that meet and connect instantly, the attraction being unbearable. Erica just graduated and all her life she wanted to do something notable, to excel. She developed together with some friends a fashion application and needs funding, so that the app could develop and see her dream become reality. She finally catches the attention of a big investment company and gets the deal she dreamed of. As part of the evaluation committee, Blake Landon is watching her very attentive, being bewitched by her brains but also beauty. He will begin his hunt, wanting to make her his. From this point on, Blake and Erica will embark on a very intense and hot relationship, with a lot of secrets and ups and downs.

The best thing about this book is Blake.. I liked him, even the name was extremely appealing, I loved it from the first second I've read it :) In his teens he was a hacker, now having an empire in business and technology. He has a past, but in the first book he keeps it very well hidden and only gives us glimpse and pieces of his activities and issues. He manages control very well, almost too well, but in his intimacy with Erica we could see a "dark" side of his, which was kind of hot if you ask me:)) He is extremely stubborn and possessive, the kind of alfa man that no one can forget. His perseverance is outstanding and he will use all his resources to have Erica in his life, even if he has to force her to realize what is good for her.

Erica was very complicated and partially to blame for my rating. She mega annoyed me and I couldn't understand her half the plot. She suffered tremendously in her life and now, her dream is about to become reality. She invested so much heart and effort in this project and she doesn't want anybody to stand in her way, not even an electric attraction for a stunning man. She confused me much because her demeanor changed a lot.. one moment she was fighting Blake, the next she was kissing him and her duality in action was not my type. Her sensitivity was also a great and delicate subject because she kept on being mad on everybody for various reasons which I couldn't connect with. Drama, drama and more drama. :)

The plot was not something BIG, reveling and extremely complicated, it was kind of flat, and even if it was more dynamic through the end, it didn't deliver thriller or drama.. it was very bearable, without any substance... Don't get me wrong, I've read worst, but this was not something to make me think about it after finishing it. Will I read the second book? I think so... I will give it one more chance and if that one is not OK also, I will leave the series to other readers that might enjoy it better than me.

3 stars!!

The Hacker Series has got to be one of my new favorite series!

Hardwired was very, very good. I could not put it down, and I was completely engrossed in it from page 1. This book presents a set of characters that each bring along their own set of "complications". Hardwired follows Erica Hathaway as she enters a new phase in her life pursuing her startup website right after graduating college. Then, through an intriguing turn of events she meets Blake Landon, a wealthy technologically savvy man who offers her a lot more than just a chance at money for her website. This book enters you into a world unlike any other, meshing a captivating romance with the hard world of technology, with plenty of great twists and turns along the way.

The characters presented in this book are well developed, and bring dynamic pasts with them. You will be reading every page trying to find out more about who these intellectual characters are, and where they came from. Each turn of the page brings a new chapter to light, and you will not be able to stop reading, because you will have to know what happens! The relationship between Erica and Blake has its ups and down, but the author does an amazing job of hooking you into the relationship that is being created between them. The author also does a great job of presenting two main characters who have some complicated pasts that help make the characters very unique, and individually very important to the story and the other characters. It is very captivating to read about these characters pasts and see how those pasts affect their futures individually and with each other.

It was also fantastic to read a book in which the female character was VERY strong willed. The main guy, Blake, may be a bit of a control freak(and that's putting it lightly) but Erica is not to be out shadowed. She knows what she wants, what she doesn't, and where she sees herself. She won't be play second fiddle. Sure she has moments of doubt, but all females do. Erica is wholly relatable in the fact that she is determined to be true to herself while still handling all that life is throwing at her. Love me some Erica!!

And don't you worry, Blake Landon is a male character that you will want to devour immediately. He's good looking, has a wee bit of charm, and says exactly what he feels/think. He also is extremely caring, and the interactions he has with Erica will have you swooning.

The story created in this book will leave you wanting more, and craving the next time you can curl up and read more about Erica and Blake. Be prepared to want to read this book in one sitting because it is that good. Its a story that will absorb and engage you right away, and will leave you wondering why you never thought the world of technology was sexy as hell.

I have no idea how this book and book two so far (I'm half way through), have rated so high. I'd rate it a 2.5 if I could. No way is it a five star and I'm annoyed that people are comparing it to 50 Shades...not even close. It's all in the writing, or lack there of. Little to no character descriptions/development. I still do not have a good picture of what Erica & Blake even look like, besides him being gorgeous???? His dominance, but reluctant to use it on her, is just not dominant, it portrays him as very wishy washy. And the scenarios of crisis and loving from afar because she poses a danger to him is just unbelievable. But only because of the writing. I've read many romance (700+ on my Goodreads) and I've read stories that have crazy, unbelievable (in real life) scenarios, and the author made them likeable, enjoyable and believable on some level. This author, not hitting the mark for me at all. I'll finish #2, probably won't bother with 3.

I wanted to read this one after a friend told me that she could not put it down .. and how right she was. This book pulled me in immediately and I could not stop reading. The only time I stepped away from my kindle was when my eyes refused to stay open any longer, well it was one o'clock in the morning! Lol.
Jesus, techies weren't supposed to be this sexy. All I wanted was to unwrap him like a present. How could I possibly resist him if he touched me again, or God forbid, kissed me?
The story follows the relationship between Erica and Blake. Erica had recently finished college and was looking for funding for her on-line fashion business. Erica was strong, level-headed and determined to succeed in her chosen career path. Blake was involved in investing in Erica's company and although at first he came across as just another arrogant and pretentious business man, I soon discovered that Blake was actually one of the sweetest book boyfriends I had met from this genre of romance. Blake had everything that I loved in a man. Sexy, rich, protective and so deliciously swoonworthy. I would have been putty in his hands. Erica, however was not. Despite her initial attraction to Blake, she was a little suspicious of him. I wasn't sure of my true feelings for Erica. Part of me admired her strength, but the other part of me felt upset and frustrated that she was constantly pushing Blake away, refusing to trust him. There were a lot of times where I felt so sorry for Blake.
"You are the one I'm here for. The only one."
"You're mine."
"If you could stop running away from me for five goddamn minutes, I could have told you that."
Erica and Blake's relationship kept me on my toes from start to finish, but as the story progressed I realised that there was a lot more to this story than just the couple's romance. Secrets were discovered and things happened that I was not expecting, but it was the ending that made me want to throw my kindle at the wall!! If you are not a fan of cliffhangers, make sure that you have the second book ready to go.
I trembled with all the love I had for this man. I hated myself for it. For wanting him the way I did. He'd worn me down. He'd won.

"Hardwired" was a brilliant read and gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ from me.

Sweet, hot n smart romance between a h who is building her own startup biz and a venture capitalist. Love both the h and H though wish the h wasn't so stubborn in the last quarter of book. The H says ILY first which I liked. There is a HFN so this works as a standalone still there is stuff happening business wise that continues in bk 2 so moving onto that.

Erica Hathaway is no stranger to hard work. Starting her own startup company while going to Harvard. Days after graduation she earns a spot to present to investment company. Meeting Marie her mom's best friend for dinner the day before her pitch to an investment group for her startup, for a pep talk. Erica runs into tall, dark, arrogant & handsome, which caught her before she fell. Looking into those beautiful eyes stole her breath away.

Fast forward to board room everyone is waiting for Angelcom chair because of course he's late. Guess who walks in tall, dark, arrogant & handsome. Erica is confident that she has what it takes now that she sees tall, dark, arrogant & handsome, which she finds out through introductions that he is Blake Landon Billionaire. Landon grills Erica and almost sabotage her presentation with all the hard questions regarding her startup. After the vote which he passes on my business venture, how dare he. His rival Mark, which is also on the board just at the opportunity to help Erica. Now that Blake Landon has seen how determined and savvy Erica is Blake will do everything to get her beneath him. This series is another go to when I'm at a what should I read next. The Hacker series is awesome it put hope back into me knowing my next book find will be awesome.

Erica is determined to keep hotshot billionaire Blake Landon at arms length because you don't mix business with pleasure and she's determined to get the backing for her business without making it more complicated, but Blake has other ideas and won't leave her alone.

The story was evenly paced and hot hot hot.

This book did remind me of fifty shades, but I couldn't put it down and where it finished was just wow. It wasn't really a cliffhanger and for me who NEVER reads cliffhanger books, it was acceptable LOL. I was relieved actually, but I can not wait for the next book, which I hope is the final one at least about Erica and Blake.
