Molly O'Flaherty has hidden a terrible secret, a secret that destroys her on the inside at the same time as it hardens her face to the world. She'll do anything to keep O'Flaherty Shipping running and solvent, even endure the unimaginable.
But she doesn't count on Silas. On Silas's words or Silas's touch. After ten years, could what they feel for each other suddenly be something more than friendship?
***The Seduction of Molly O'Flaherty is a short story and a prequel to the London Lovers duet. It is not necessary to read this to enjoy the duet. It is intended for mature audiences only.***
This is the first historical romance/erotica that I have read by Sierra Simone and I loved it!
The dialogues are poetic like you are watching a play, the descriptions are lyrical and the sex is decadent and delicious. The dark, painful descriptions of Molly’s torment also emphasize the healing process and makes you part of Molly's relief and care. The story of Molly and her friend Silas has started 10 years ago, but only this time it is expressed with love and commitment.
This SHORT STORY will be available as a FREEBIE very soon!
What happens when friendship develops into something more?
Strictly speaking this short story is not an essential read prior to The London Duet series. However, in an ideal reading world one would devour because it perfectly sets the scene and tone for the story of Molly and Silas. The glimpse of the story arc and the potential of what may develop in the London Duet is highly intriguing and engaged my attention from the very beginning. It gives an indication of Molly's life experiences and upcoming plight and provides the context of where the friendship line may have been crossed with vivid HOT and SEXY writing that shows the development of their relationship.
To conclude a super, luscious start to the love story of Molly and Silas, a historical, erotic romance.

What a prelude to story of Molly and Silas!! I loved it!! From reading the Markham Hall series, I couldn’t wait to see how things would develop between Molly and Silas. This prequel is hot and captures an incredibly romantic moment between these two characters.
"Such a pretty mouth, he muttered, speeding up the rocking of his hips. Such a pretty face. Such a pretty girl. I flattened my tongue against the underside of his cock, tightening my lips around him."
Sierra’s writing entranced me from the first word and I am immediately continuing to the next book in the London Lovers series!
At eighteen pages, you might think this prequel to The London Lovers series could be easily skipped, but you really shouldn’t miss out on this little gem. If you have yet to read The Markham Hall series, this will be a great introduction to the characters. And for those of you that loved that series, you get some answers about Molly’s behavior in book three of the Markham Hall series.
Though short, by the end I was totally emotionally invested in Molly and Silas’ story. This book had me teary-eyed and hot-n-bothered all at once. The Seduction of Molly O’Flaherty is one hot little slice of Historical Erotica that you should definitely pick up.

A smutastic prequel that has whet my appetite nicely for Silas and Molly's story. Filthy dirty talk. Could be read as a standalone, especially suitable if you're looking for a quick and dirty quality one handed read. This is a freebie and the rest of the story is available on KU.
“Don’t move,” he whispered against my mouth. “Just let me have it.”
Jeez, this was a utterly perfect beginning of this serie. Silas, sigh, god he could make ME feel good anytime any day! This prequel will make you crave the rest of the serie, so yeah there is where I will be.....
This is a very short read. Not even a novella, more a chapter only. And it's free on Amazon. It's the introduction into series about Molly and Silas. They first appear in The Awakening of Ivy Leavold, which is also free on Amazon. I liked them from the start, even more than Ivy and Julian, protagonists of the Markham Hall series. So, of course, I'm thrilled to read their story, especially after reading this chapter. Can't wait to get my hands on The Persuasion of Molly O'Flaherty.
A bit too much sex for me - I think I would like the characters, but this was basically just a sex novella. I'm not sure if I will read the rest of the books. I haven't read Sierra Simone before so not sure if thats her usual style or not. I'm sure others will like this, just not a fave of mine.
A tease of a short story. I've been saving this series for ages because I didn't want to run out of Sierra Simone novels but I can't wait any longer. I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop between Molly and Silas!
Note: this is very short but it deals explicitly with Molly's recent rape by someone on her shipping company's board.
*The author changed how this series is packaged so while my ebook is titled The Seduction of Molly O'Flaherty and it's the prequel short story for the London Lovers series, it's now known as The Persuasion of Molly O'Flaherty and included in book 1 of London Lovers which is titled The Seduction of Molly O'Flaherty. Rather confusing!
Character notes: Molly is a white shipping company heiress. This takes place in 1880.
CW: recent off-page rape of FMC, on page sex, gender essentialist language
Exactly what I want in a book! There’s suspense, love, and intensity. Even though it’s technically a novella, it felt like a full length story because of how much was packed into it.
All the character felt real, messy, and complex. Some actions were morally questionable, but that’s part of what I love about reading fiction and stepping into the minds and lives of people who are different from me.
Sure, there are things in this story I would never personally do....especially some of the choices made near the end (no spoilers!). Some moments definitely made me pause and think, wait, really??!! But I’m not reading to see characters make all the “right” choices or live exactly how I would. I’m reading to step into someone else's world.
There’s something powerful about reading a romance or fiction that lets you mentally cross lines you'd never cross in your own life. It doesn’t mean I’d do it, but I get to feel what it’s like for someone who would. And that experience of empathizing, or even just witnessing is part of what makes fiction and romance so addictive and meaningful to me.
I love the thrill of stepping into lives that are bolder, messier, and riskier than mine. I get to live a thousand lives I’ll never choose, feel the consequences, and then return to my own world a little more awakened, a little more expanded, and a little more aware of where I draw the line on moral decisions.
That’s what makes fiction powerful to me. Not just escape, but immersion. And this book pulled me in and let me live another life. So, 5 stars!!!
three stars! ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ ooh i actually really loved this👀 i just knew molly and silas were gonna be so good! i definitely can already tell i like them a lot more than ivy and julian, which makes me excited! i can’t wait to see where their story goes!
I like the author's writing style, but there was very little romance or meat to this short prequel which consisted of just 1-2 scenes. It didn't help that the sex scene between the hero and heroine lacked an emotional and steamy punch. It rather grossed me out because of what came before, in fact.
A perfect introduction to Molly & Silas's story, who we met in the Markham Hall series. They were both part of Julian's vibrant band of merry men & women.
I feel I've read a story that started long ago. It mentioned Ivy Leavold and the end of her story, I presume. So, I think I should have read The Awakening of Ivy Leavold before this one. I can say there was a triangle love. I don't know if I should read it, knowing that. (I hate love triangles) I also don't know if I should continue with this series bc even though I liked the writing, I didn't feel it.
It was as if they already loved each other but I've never seen HOW they fall in love :/
A return to the Markham Hall series, this short introduction turns the focus to the lovely Silas and Molly -- two characters I loved in the main Markham Hall series. After Silas finds Molly in tears after she's been sexually assaulted, he attempts to make her feel better through sex and they end up saying "I love you." This then leads into the main story that starts this London Lovers duet, taking place eight months after this. I didn't really like this super short story. I wish it had just been a prologue to "The Persuasion of Molly O'Flaherty." And I wish their budding romance could have been introduced a bit differently than Silas just being all "my penis will heal you." Ah, well.
Verdict Skippable. I'd recommend going right into the official start of the London Lovers duet.
Silas stole the fucking show while still being an idiot. 🔥
This review talks about the originally published The Seduction of Molly O'Flaherty(which was originally the prequel about Silas soothing Molly the only way he can) and The Persuasion of Molly O'Flaharty which are now combined into this book.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Molly from the previous books of Markham Hall, it's quite common for me not to care about books concerning the previous books' other love interests, but Silas intrigued me a lot.
Firstly,Molly, is a boss bitch but it saddened me so much the trauma and assault she went through with that huge Cunningham douche. Now,Silas, he really stole the show, but he fucked up with his Mercy escapades. I loathe him for it, but he was perfect the other 80% of the book. These two went from friends to benefits to possible arranged marriage and there is something so visceral that makes them fall into bed together again and again. Molly definitely gave in quite easily, but who wouldn't?
The spice is stellar, as is the usual with Sierra Simone! There was one delicious FFM scene with roleplay that would tingle everyone's senses in my opinion. 👀
